While searching the Internet for some FMV footage, I stumbled across this stinker for Super Wing Commander, a game I never knew existed for a console that had a higher price point in 1994 than the Playstation 3 had in 2006.
So you know this game had to be awesome, right?

This is actually one of the best Wing Commander games ever made (3DO/Macintosh). It plays closest to the original and has extremely well made sound effects and beautifully redrawn art, especially the talking heads. It was touched by him, by Warren Spector himself, man! It would also not hurt to be aware of the traps of your typical internet reviewer’s idiocy; stick to facts and re-tag this entry, as SWC has as much in common with full-motion video as Final Fantasy VIII with Metal Slug at being a good video game. Cheerio.

Also, kindly notice how the developers failed to solve a simple calculation… 2 ships, each firing 2 missiles, eh? I didn’t previously know that 2+2=5, but I’m clearly seeing 5 missiles going in that ship. Who the heck made this game, the guys from McDonalds who flip burgers for a living?

Ah I left out the “mate” part in “dammit boy” and it is a little backwards oh well I was distracted a bit when I typed that out.
This game was actually released for the old Mac OS 9 and earlier as well. That's how I played it. You might be able to find a copy and try it on an emulator like sheepshaver. The game plays through the vega campaign and extends to revamped SM1, SM2 campaign. Actually, I quite liked it back in the day, unfortunately my cd got trashed which is a real shame. Sure the voice acting was funny at times, but the graphics were quite neat and had one of the coolest take off scenes ever. Really it was just a lot of fun, if you like Wing Commander.

Well, you can now add someone to your list on Owners of a 3DO. My bro and I had one for at least 5-6 years before we got the PS2,playing Road Rash, Putt Putt and an alien invasion railshooter.
