Yor: Hunter From the Future Review

Has anyone else heard that Yor: Hunter from the Future was actually a failed Italian TV show (it only lasted for four episodes) that was edited together to make a movie? I read that on IMDB so it may not be true but isn't the idea of a Yor series just awesome! IMDB also says that the series is sometimes shown on TV in Europe, though only rarely.

I just got my own VHS copy for my birthday; I feel so special. I've seen the review so many times that I can quote it while I'm watching. xD

This movie may never have only been released on VHS in America, but I remember buying this on DVD in Germany.

Man, what a messed up movie . . . I have always wondered it was, because I lost the DVD several years ago and couldn't remember its name.

Besides Reb Brown (who also stared in the hilariously bad Strike Commando), the actress who plays Yor's girl was in Moonraker and the guy who plays the leader of the purple cavemen was in Turkish Starwars (the moron who got tortured using phone cord). Impressive cast !

I don't know how I ended up here, but I'm so glad I did. That was an awesome review and I totally forgot about that movie. I saw that when I was like 5 at a cheat drive-in. Your shit is so dope man. You rule!

Awsome review and a high funnyfactor. My first thought to mind, when the Overlord and Yor was in the same scene, was: this looks like a lowbudget He-Man movie, with Yor as He-Man and Overlord as Keldor (before Skeletor became Skeletor, he was a man known as Keldor). A barbaric, yet tecnological world, much like Eternia... Btw, great work :cD

I just pent $35 on an official VHS copy because this review was so funny.

ok. I have to say wow. Your review of this film was hilarious.
What does kind of sadden me is I remember watching this film almost 19 years ago. And at the age of 6 this film was entertaining, but today yor: hunter from the future seems more like a Uwie Bowle Film then a serious attempt at film making. the only reason I would watch it now, is to rip on it. (which is alot of fun)
Also touching on something stated in the review. In yor's intro song there is the line "He never sees the sun"
correct me if I'm wrong but it looks like its somewhere between noon and 3pm, In a desert, with the glare of the sun bouncing off of yar's womanly physique and blinding you.
What is this guy? Blind? Or does he have Super Awesome 3.5 Drow Darkvison going on?

You know, the odd thing is, I don't have a movie I think roleplaying should be like.
Really, I have a series of videogames.
I can't actually look at LotR and think "Yeah, that's what fantasy roleplay should be like".
I do, however, have a series of books, and the way they play out in my mind is how roleplaying should be done.
They're known as the Abhorsen Trilogy, by Garth Nix.
Never will you read teenage fiction so vivid in its description, so heart thumpingly good in its action, that it defines your entire thoughts on roleplay.

After the first purple cavemen attack my brother commented: "Now time for the Flying Purple People Eater!" A second later, the giant bat appeared. We died laughing.

Years ago I remember begging my mother to rent this from the video store. When she finally did, I remember my reaction was WTF? Overlord's not just impaled, he wanders the entire base for 20 minutes with that stick in his stomache.
