This week’s most awesome thing is Warren Ellis’ new comic series Black Summer. It’s a provocative and thoughtful take on the superhero genre and the responsibilities a vigilante takes upon himself when he chooses to dedicate his life to fighting crime.

    After the first issue, the implied philosophical questions about vigilantism on superhuman level are discarded. It’s just one big bloody battle for most of the six issues.

    I think Justice League Unlimited or ‘JLU’ did a toon about superman killing the prez (Luther) for killing/causing the death of flash, and then he and all the other heroes; batman, wonder woman, green lantern took over the world.
    sidenote; what’s your take on cartoon(&movie) remakes? you hate ‘em, right? :)

    I really wish Spoony was still making quick recommendation videos like this. I picked up Black Summer and it was, indeed, awesome.
