The Spoony Experiment

Hell’s Kitchen: The Game: The Review

by Spoony on January 25, 2009 · View Comments

Chef Gordon Ramsay pays an unexpected visit to the show to drag me into Hell’s Kitchen. Not the TV show, his crappy PC game. Whose cuisine will reign supreme?

(Final Fantasy 8 is next! I swear!)

My god. This was hilarious! But you took a huge chunk out of that pepper. EW! Those things are nasty. Like I’m so serious. More power to you. I would have puked on the spot. Awesome review

Well that’s the problem with you dude, you don’t drink carbonation to stop spicy burn, you always drink Milk or take a bite of bread! I swear, haven’t you learned anything from Home Improvement?

FwuffyBunny December 18, 2009 at 12:30 pm

Yellow peppers aren’t spicy. You just don’t want to bite into a raw one. Not exactly the tastiest thing ever.

I have had an incredibly shitty day that I thought would not get better any time soon. I watched this video and started cracking up despite my bad mood.
Thanks for letting me laugh today. Well and all the other days that your videos have made me laugh too. Keep it up and thank you again.

wow, I never would have thought that watching some guy play with dolls would be funny. but somehow spoony made it entertaining. It was a fun video to watch.

This is one of my top favorite reviews that you've done. It's got all of the staples of your style of humor throughout, ending in, I hate to say it because you had to suffer for it, one of the funniest outtakes I've ever seen. But in the video proper, you did a great job editing. When you're going back and forth from you playing with the dolls to the game you were reviewing, it's very well balanced. Yeah, the Ramsey costume was kind of silly, but I think it worked for you. You're also totally honest about what you think of the game, and admit that for being bad, it's got good points as well.

I've just got to say though, what gets me every time is your face just before you take that bite of the pepper. One confident nod, and then the slow realization of what you had just committed yourself to. Bravo for going through that for our entertainment.

Pussy. I ate a whole jalapeno on a bet once. Burned my mouth, sure. But the sore throat for a day was worth the $1 and the respect of the men in the break room. Yes. I'm a girl.

As much of a fan of Iron Chef as you seem to be, why did you bite from the top of the pepper? Chairman Kaga bites into the side.

He seemed very hesitant to bite it, so he probably wasn't even considering which spot to bite.
To be fair I'm fairly certain all of us would hesitate biting a bell pepper.

Pheonix_blu March 12, 2010 at 9:34 pm

You know, it's a shame nobody remembers “Duke Nukem” amnymore…Sigh_

NixieGirl March 31, 2010 at 5:09 am

Wow bro. You REALLY need a girlfriend.

Nice Cobra Commander voice. XD

Hubbe128 April 3, 2010 at 11:24 am

I'm still wondering how the heck you could get so sick you almost throw up from biting a frickin bell pepper.

I mean, It's a bell pepper! It scores 0 on the “spicyness” scale!

This is one of my favorite reviews of his ever. It also made me buy a awesome Giant Dizzy Gillespie hoodie. =) I love it. For a XL it is smaller than I thought, but it still fits good enough. I just love loose clothing. I'm not heavy or anything, but I like loose fitting clothing.

“Thanks for shawlotting me on the mashed potatoes.” OMG too funny. I never watched this show once (Hell's Kitchen) because I thought it looked retarded. Maybe that is why people liked the show? Anyway this is one of my favorite Spoony reviews ever. Plus he plays with dolls, again!!!

It was a great review, but the end nearly killed me “I should not have done that” >.< Oh gawd.

Danny Caracciolo June 22, 2010 at 11:57 am

Dave Middleton June 25, 2010 at 4:23 pm

Next to the Demolition Man review and the Punpkinhead review, this is my favourite thing Spoony has ever done.

Javier Andres Solarte Torres July 4, 2010 at 5:00 pm

Watching the intro really makes you reflect on the times that we have spent with Noah and his videos. *sigh*

Gordon Ramsey is like an angry youtube commenter… in the kitchen. xD

Carl Lee Siler July 20, 2010 at 9:28 pm

Am I, like, the only person on this planet who likes peppers enough to eat them like that. I mean, really? Great review SpoonyOne, but next time chow on a potato.

Oseis July 21, 2010 at 12:42 pm

LMAO, man your body totally rejected that HEALTHY vegetable, someone give that guy a twinky STAT!!!!

kingman186 July 23, 2010 at 7:53 am

Peppers aren't healthy, or edible unless you use them in small portions with other ingredients.

CalebTheTimeTraveler July 27, 2010 at 9:22 am

It looked like a Bell Pepper, which, if washed, is easily eaten like that.
When Spoony says that he's out of shape, he really means it.

… a cooking show hosted and run by Video Game and Movie characters… would be awesome. Just to see how hilariously everything would play out, as each character uses their own crazy and outlandish stuff to outdo the other guys… … even better when a silent protagonist has to describe their dishes… :D

Sorin Lascu August 30, 2010 at 12:53 am

Nice Iron Chef parody/tribute dude. :) Most enjoyable part of the review, IMO.
