You should just use the shotgun with the beanbags, you can go through the entire mission by just shooting them twice in the chest and handcuffing them.

Not to be a hardass or anything but you’re not really playing all that efficiently. You’re not using your squad to clear rooms and you’re not using the wand to check rooms and using flash bangs. Course If you played right you it would have as much comedic value. :D

Just so you know the blood in the toilet was an old guy that found out he had prostate cancer. He had blood in his urine.

It would’ve also been interesting if you gave a funny one-liner after shooting that guy dead in front of the cleaners (in the beginning). I mean he’s already at the wash maybe he can get those blood stains out.

Just use the space key to give them quick orders. The space key is not only used for the “fall in” command. Watch bottom right corner and see the quick command change in different circumstances.
Like when you want to cuff someone, just point and press the space key. Or when you want to breach a door, etc. The game is much less tedious this way.

Spoony’s so awesome. Even while sick with a miserable cold, with no script prepared, he still manages to provide hilarious game commentary. I could watch dozens of these Swat 4 videos.

If i recall, you can access a small cam in the upper right or left corner to track your teams. (pg dn, home, end – that neighborhood of buttons) I remember playing SWAT 4 co-op and keeping track of my friend, making sure he was actually covering me.

Best gun for the early missions would be the pepper gun, as you can pepper anybody without penalty. Kind of removes the challenge though – until you run into the hockey mask guys.

None of the bliptv videos are working for me for some reason, they were fine a few days ago, but now ive come on and they have just stopped working. Anyone have any ideas?

Wow those guys were just ridiculous. I would be pissed if you were right and they did mark off more than one penalty for unauthorized use of deadly force. The guys shot directly at you! I’m actually debating if the sniper kill was the penalty shot or the guy you shot in the knee on reflex. I’m leaning towards the knee shot since he didn’t pose more of a threat than the guy with the AK. I’ve played this game a few years ago and I can tell ya that you play so much differently. I’m sure your strategy was way better because you could think faster than some computer but I was almost entirely computer dependent. I wouldn’t go through a door without my team clearing it first. I would love Spoony to be the policeman that saves me from a hostage thing… I can imagine him just shooting everyone in the face who is holding a gun then yelling, “It was a clean shot!”. Then we go off to the sunset together… wait what? You need to use one of your charges…. to blow a door open…. I think explosions would make people surrender….

The hostility counter i bullshit. They basically have to be aiming at you long enough for you get a look at the bullet down-barrel. But when in doubt, just let your team members pop them. Apparently they know instinctively when a perp is thinking a violent thought (very handy when working as a S.W.A.T. officer). The white t-shirt monkey was the one. Just wait till you play the Stetchkov Syndicate Xpansion. They surrender, drop their weapon, and when you turn around to yell at somebody else, they draw their back-up weapon and shoot you in the back of the head.

You get hit by “unauthorized use of deadly force” when you shoot someone without demanding that they drop their weapon first. It was the guy who popped up right after the woman shot you that caused you to take that penalty, if I remember the game right.

I failed that mission like 10 times because the main suspect, the women IIRC, always was hiding somewhere with her Shotgun and took me down from behind! That fucking bitch!

Accuracy, reliability and durability, however, often depend upon the tolerances/clearances, the materials used in construction, and the ammunition. That weapon was most likely procured from the black market. Shipped from which third-world hellhole? That’s anybody’s guess.

I love the website and I played SWAT 4 but played under my own rules that no-one can get hurt and I can only move on if I get 100% pass rate everytime. Was so hard playing like that.

First of all – great review Spoony! MOAR! ;)
As for SWAT 4 – for me it’s a great game. Post raven shield&Athena sword R6 games are too arcade for me – swat 4 was totally opposite to the R6 lockdown at this time (AFIAR the game has this “new breathtaking” system which allow you to renew your HP just for standind!). In fact, I hate almost all new shooters – who came with the idea that life will increase if you stand still for a while? It’s stupid and childish. Getting a medic kit is kinda old, but you can compromise with a medic (a person) or food etc.. (like in GTA series). And for some games (swat4, r6) been able to restore your life is just WRONG.
And if you want something really hard go for ARMA – nothing can’t beat that grunt feelling this game have :).

I can’t wait to see the Cult Mission and the Bank Mission (Or was it a big jeweller…hm that with the armored tough guys). The last one mentioned made me stop playing this game because I kept dying constantly. The cult mission was the most intense, in my opinion. With the graves and stuff in the base ment. I think it was the fifth mission so hopefully I don’t have to wait so long. Awesome site Spoony.

Dude, I live in Maryland and in Baltimore someone offered to sell me an AK-47, 3 clips and a bayonet, offered to sell it to me for $300, no joke

Surprizingly SWAT 3 was in many ways superior. I used to play that game all the time, I enjoyed it because it did something different in FPS genre and the term tactical shooter was on it’s way. It was so satisfing to check out the room, come in from every door and clear the room perfectly. And the only way to use deadly force is to fire back and don’t start shooting.
