Honestly, you would be great for a review show that reviews everything from comics to video games to movies. In my opinion it would be great for a network like G4 or Spike but I am not an expert. Keep up with the great work.

first things first
what kind of morons control TV, damn you are the spoony, they should kill a talk show just to put you

i would very much like you to review sega games, because every one is going about how awsome nes is, and it pisses me off
shinobi 3 any one

here are a few bad or very old games, you should one day review, all of them on pc

the neverhood (dreamworks)=> very old but a damn good game made with clay
Hugos House of Horrors => i will praise if you can find it , it is on a floppy, but also a very interesting old game

half life 1 versus half life 2=> continuity of the plot and hl2 just sucks
space force rouge universe=> say you like a cheating AI, yes you do, also worst space simulation ever
nfs pro street and nfs undercover=> no one ever reviews them , why there bad , it could be funny

play boiling point, then play farcry 2, then tell me Farcry2 isn’t a ripoff

For me, Resident Evil 5 was good. It’s another Resident Evil game, it has a nice story with the standard RE has done so far, but yeah, there are so many comments already about how the enemies are recycled from Resident Evil 4, the controls are all the same as RE4, some of the sound effects are EXACTLY the same to RE4. I mean later in the game you fight guys shooting guns and rocket launchers at you and you cant do the Gears of War cover system or MGS4’s 3 person shooting feel to it. You cant move while you shoot. For me the voice acting is the same as the other RE games, cheesy, over blown and cliche. But that’s the kind of story with all the other games. Oh yeah and in multiplayer, no voice talking either. I wanna tell people to cover me to shoot something, but nope. I am not regretting buying this game, but I knew this wasn’t going to be new after watching all the previews of the game so I didnt go into this game with high hopes.

Dude i think one of the best things here is final fantasy, you hate it so much its hilarious. you should review the original mario for the nes, that game sucks ass!! and yes i WILL send you a copy.

Mahiar Ghannadi March 19, 2009 at 10:15 am

I wish I could be there and review the games and movies too. But as Spoony is makeing it clear… MONEY – CASH – DOLLERS. But in order to do that, I need a steady income to get all the gear i need. I don’t evem have an xbox or a PS3. I just have the this PC and it’s OK. But in order to do something more then just surf or play or work on it i need more.

Game Damage(The show with the Australian Gamer founders(Matt and Yug) and Yahtzee) went fairly good as far as we know. They talked about it in the end of one of Australian Gamer’s podcasts(http://www.australiangamer.com/podcast/153_gamedamage_pilot_feedback_games_of_2009_mgs_on_the_iphone.html). They have also mentioned in their blog that it isn’t a question about “if”, but “when” and “who”(http://www.gamedamage.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=2008).

Benny March 19, 2009 at 6:34 pm

They’re all writers spoony.

Josef Stalin March 19, 2009 at 9:06 pm

Get yout ass on Empire Spoony. Its one the the best games I’ve ever played.

Anonymous Fox March 19, 2009 at 11:28 pm

All I really have to say to all this is really simple.

FULLSCREEN THE VID and the ad goes below the blackbar area.

So there. RANT ON, SPOONY!!!

Dryn March 19, 2009 at 11:53 pm

I believe in you spoony. If WCG Ultimate Gamer can get on tv any of your shows should be able too.

Rob March 20, 2009 at 12:32 am

It sounds like so much work you do to make the reviews. Thanks so much for going through all that just to entertain us, I really appreciate it.

Greg March 20, 2009 at 3:49 am

I’ll admit I don’t pay much attention to modern games.
But from what I’ve seen, the biggest problem today isn’t voice acting, it’s the visual acting. 3D models just aren’t good actors, and the voices can’t compensate for that.
If I was an actor, I’d be loathe to get involved with video games because no matter how good you are, the animated models will make you look bad.

Rhi March 20, 2009 at 5:58 am

You may hate doing the FF8 reviews, Spoony, but let me tell you, a heck of a lot of people enjoy them – including me. It’s a happy day when one of your reviews goes up. For that matter, I’m enjoying the SWAT stuff too, though I don’t think you’re getting killed enough. :D Keep it up, man.

theJM March 20, 2009 at 11:33 am

Good vids as usual Spoony. I don’t really care if you continue the FF8 series or not just as long as you keep review things in your usual fashion it’ll be awesome. Have you considered actually trying to review a good game as you would any other game to show people how it would be like because every game has it’s flaws. I remember you mentioning the Ultima games in one of your reviews (can’t remember exactly which one) and was wondering what your take on them are and would love to see a review if you have any of them (or I could get a hold of the NES games that me and my bro had I would send you Ultima Exodus)

Nicolas March 20, 2009 at 11:44 am

Nice third eye thar! Maybe some makeup could hide it. Steal some from your mother!

If I had the money, and if I ever get the money, I would totally try to launch you into TV, or at the very least invest in you! I’m not there yet, but you never know. You’re right about TV needing to have better shows. I don’t know for other people, but I literally don’t watch TV anymore. I sometimes force myself to see what’s currently popular on the music channels, but on the whole, I watch shows on the internet. I’m surprised that TV executives aren’t catching on this. The mere fact that you guys (AVGN, Nostalgia Critic, etc) are so popular online should be an argument. TV executives love money and minimal risks. You guys have already proven you were good and could father a significant audience – faithful audience at that – so why don’t they consider doing something with you?

TV is behind in terms of knowing what people want/like. I hope for you that they catch up soon, or else I’ll have to get rich quick to fund your ass. In the meantime, I promote your stuff to EVERYONE I can lay my hands on.

M.MC March 20, 2009 at 12:17 pm

I liked your exasperated description of Resident Evil 5, but really Spoony, it’s predecessor is never worth venerating unqualified; you just sound like everyone else when you describe Resident Evil 4. Also, could you please get your terminology straight? Because if it’s riding a motorbike, then I highly doubt it’s a zombie.

ConnorElzaim March 20, 2009 at 7:31 pm

Honestly while I accept that 4.0 had its benefits, it was more streamlined and quicker played and what not I just couldn’t get past some of the changes lore wise in the settings and play style wise in the mechanics. I started DnD a few years back with a 3.0/3.5 blend, (my DM felt 3.5 made the player OP but that it still had benefits) and when 4.0 came out I found it sort of a shock from what I’d just gotten used to. Tried it but didn’t really like it and am now currently waiting for the release of Pathfinder.

Sifer2 March 20, 2009 at 10:12 pm

Ok 4 chapters is like only 1/4th of RE5 I think that’s a bit early for you to say anything about it. I really don’t see how he can say Gears of War 2 does Co-Op better. They do it equally well if anything. Though in my opinion the need to share supplies only makes RE5’s co-op that much stronger than Gears where its just shoot at the same guys an pick up your buddy if he goes down. Also RE5’s voice acting is not terrible. It’s probably the first game in the whole series with passable voice acting. Seriously point out where the voice acting was bad cause I honestly didn’t notice it this time around. The one legitimate “complaint” would be its too similar to 4. But hell isn’t that what almost all sequels do these days? Halo 3 was too similar to Halo 2. Gears of War 2 was too similar to Gears of War. Etc. forever. Why is suddenly such a big deal for RE5?

S0AP117 March 21, 2009 at 10:41 pm

I’ve noticed that alot of fans of the Resident Evil series just seem to criticize that 4 and 5 didn’t go along the same story line and didn’t feature the T-Virus. I honestly prefered the escape from the standard scenario of the series. The sooner that game companies stop listening to the fans and concentrate on producing a good, functional game, the sooner better games will be produced.

Todes March 22, 2009 at 6:42 am

yer going to be disappointed with empire:total war if you enjoyed a lot of the last games. it looks like they tried to do a lot with it, and failed. mostly in the programming. it crashes a lot, they failed when it comes to allowing install from the cd, and saves seem to currupt just for the fun of it. i have to wonder if they even beta tested the bastard.
that said… im still going to play it until i conquer the three hemispheres that are presented to me >.>

Daniel H March 22, 2009 at 12:20 pm

I don’t thing RE5 was as good as RE4. I think re4 was really creepy, and is one of the few games, if not maybe the only one I think is really scary||creepy, maybe it’s because you’re alone, and in the woods, with houses made out of rotten wood wich was just as rotten as the zombies themselves, it was really well made, good mood. In RE5 when your head gets cut off by chainsaw, it is censored, kind of, outside picture. But not in 4, and that is one of the things I like about 4, it was raw and honest! Just like the gameover title says “Your Dead!”. I liked the mood in 4, that mood was not in 5, so I think they were really different, 5 was not creepy, not scary, and had terrible voice acting.

Alicia March 22, 2009 at 6:43 pm

A bit off topic, but I would like to contribute a question to “Ask Spoony.” I liked your Most Awesome Thing of the Week in the past. Are those ever coming back?

Dr_Trickster March 24, 2009 at 11:03 pm

Have you ever considered going on Bravo’s Playr and Playr Guide.

this programme reviews new movies and games for all platforms.

Matrim March 27, 2009 at 12:26 pm

Hey, love your stuff.

I just wanted to chime in (as I’m sure about a bajillion other have, but I’m not about to read 13 pages of comments) about 4th Ed. I must admit, I was slightly biased against 4th Ed before I ever saw it (mostly because I was really happy with 3.5 and variations thereof). That aside, I have played a 30 lvl dungeon crawl and have decided two things: combat is pretty awesome; and everything else really isn’t. 4th Ed isn’t bad, however I think it is wholly unnecessary when you have a great system in 3.5 (especially if you’re playing a tweaked version like Pathfinder).

Jameson March 28, 2009 at 9:11 pm

Love the monkey island music used — one of my favorite old school games it seems like not a lot of people know about.

Eythor the Icelander March 30, 2009 at 8:12 am

I agree with spoony, nothing is as rewarding as popping a huge whitehead into the mirror :D

xtutorxheartx November 11, 2009 at 8:49 pm

I get what you are saying about the voice actor things. There’s a ton of people on VAA that are really good voice actors, and they don’t get paid a cent. It is too bad that people do not look to the internet for talent as you pointed out in two parts of your video.

I know I'm gonna get some hate on this but, here it goes. I'm actually more partial to the old school style of survival horror, so I didn't much care for RE4. And because of RE5 being just like it, but in a new setting, I haven't even tried a demo of it, and I won't be playing it at all. I would rather go back and play RE2 once more.

Honestly Spoony i'd love to do a review show for tv.
For games and movies especially games. So if you ever want a co-host i'm your man.
Besides who can you trust Noah someone you know? Or me a complete stranger?
The answers obvious ^^

I hear ya Spoony when it comes to trying to get a show going. A friend and I had a proposal back in the mid 90’s for a “Haunted House” show and NO ONE listened to us. Suddenly, two plumbers do a Ghost hunting show and everybody goes ape for it. Guess it depends on right place right time. I’m sure your day will come Spoony.
