Good to hear from ya, Spoons. Just don’t overexert yourself, alright? :)

Toad March 18, 2009 at 10:17 am

The ads always made me laugh. The spoony diet was the best one. Laughing that is.
Don’t worry about that red snapper on your head. If its just a FF8 review, make it a metaphor. It fits perfectly.

eadwin March 18, 2009 at 10:29 am

lol @ the whole zit thing. :)

Jhoh March 18, 2009 at 10:34 am

Hey Spoony, if you want a real grind game worse than FF8, try Xenogears. It might be the worst JRPG ever made and makes FF8 look like Gradius 3.

Danimal March 18, 2009 at 10:36 am

Keep up the good work Noah, I think I can speak for everyone when I say we really appreciate your work… and your stress zits.

alldreamsfalldown March 18, 2009 at 10:42 am

I’m exactly the same. Too many things to do, not enough time. I appreciate your dedication especialy with the Final Fantasy VIII thing.

Danimal March 18, 2009 at 10:45 am

By the way, good point on the movie review show. I would love to see something like that, something that’s respectable.

Ace March 18, 2009 at 11:07 am

I don’t trust x play that much

swingontehspiral March 18, 2009 at 11:12 am

this was kinda a heart to heart with the fans spoony, im glad you have fun entertaining us cuz we all love it just as much. screw television, put up some more movie reviews on the site. theres so many you have left on your coming soon list that im rotting away at my computer waiting for.

torstein March 18, 2009 at 11:15 am

I love watching your reviews and your vlogs.

Don’t burn yourself out! It’s better let us wait a bit longer if that will result in you performing better and/or don’t get burnt out :)

Dandor March 18, 2009 at 11:23 am

You could never talk too much haha! Keep it up.

BatOtaku13 March 18, 2009 at 11:35 am

concerning you’re discussion on movie review shows, have you ever heard of Spill.com? they’re an animated movie review site made by 5 guys in austin, texas that do that same kind of approach you just said you’d want to do.
best of luck in the future.

Spork March 18, 2009 at 11:37 am

You put it very well when you talked about people who do reviews. Though even if I don’t agree with a reviewer, I can watch them if they are entertaining enough, but even if I agree with them, if they aren’t entertaining, forget about it. Like that Yahtzee pilot, what they were saying was good and all, nothing wrong with it, but it was terribly dull and Yahtzee looked like he didn’t even want to be there at all, he wasn’t enjoyable t watch in that. I didn’t agree at all with your negative views on TF2, but I still enjoyed reading it. I rarely agreed with Roger Ebert and I didn’t even care what he thought of movies, but I enjoyed watching him more than any other reviewer, which is weird because I really hate pretentious reviewers. You seem to like Sage, but I can’t stand him, I don’t respect his opinion, and he wasn’t very entertaining to me personally. As for Xplay, well I don’t respect or find anything entertaining on G4.

On that note I always have this thought that G4 really should pick up guys like you and AVGN and such to do shows or offer you positions on shows there, because lord knows they need it. Guys like you that gamers actually connect with would do wonders for that network, as it stands I don’t know how they stay on the air, their shows are vile. So that’s my hope for your wish to break into an industry. As for a Doctor Insano science show?… Yeah, I’d work on that a bit first Noah.

Lastly, make a joke that the zit is the agony and anguish FF8 has built up inside of you trying to burst it’s way out of your brain. :P

jon March 18, 2009 at 11:39 am

hey i love your work, but dont say anything bad about Steven Seagal! that man is an idol

Peter March 18, 2009 at 11:45 am

Spoony, I know what you’re saying about reviewing a good game, but really, I think it would be good to try it out. I know you don’t have a lot of time, but I recommend checking out the Unskippable from The Escapist Magazine. They just make sarcastic comment of an opening cutscene from ANY game, and it’s priceless. I would love to see you doing some hilarious commentary on a good game (maybe if the gameplay doesn’t work so well you can just show the cutscenes).

Keep up the great work. I look forward to every update ^_^

Chad March 18, 2009 at 11:53 am

I know it’s easier to do bad games and such, but really I think doing a good review every now and then would help set you apart from the dime a dozen people on the internet who are just all about the nerdrage and making fun of bad games and movies and such. Surely you have a favorite game or movie?

Plus it might help to get rid of some stress every now and then to do a good review, I mean you seem to be getting kinda crabby lately…

Gaspard March 18, 2009 at 12:06 pm

A kids science show featuring Doctor Insano ? That would have made my childhood less boring.
Anyway, I’m glad that FFVIII is back on the trails. Only 3 more discs, that’s the positive thinking !

Chris Smedley March 18, 2009 at 12:15 pm

On behalf of the fans…. (Bzzzzzzz (Fan noise)) I appologise…. for us being such slave drivers……
Although, could you do a movie review of Lesbian Vampire Killers….. I’m not sure if you have it in America…. it is a british Film…. The name holds promises… but I fear it could just be the sort of slap-stick comedy that is thumb tacks through the crown jewels annoying…
So yeah….
NOW GET BACK TO WORK!!!!!…. zit face?

Hazz March 18, 2009 at 12:29 pm

If you hate the adds… get ad block plus for Mozilla i have never seen an add with it

majoras incarnation March 18, 2009 at 12:34 pm

You know there used to be an HD channel I got that was pretty good…it was called gameplay HD or something….but anyways it was really great it had live tournament broadcasts, previews, humor…all manner of hardcore gameing shows…I cant help but feel you would have fit right in. sadly they took it off the air….in favor of the Gardening HD channel or something -_-

Luke March 18, 2009 at 12:39 pm

I’m a law student, but i’m in England, so dunno if that would be any help to you, given our copyright law is probably completely different to yours. However, if you wanted to set up an elaborate scheme where you film your show then get an english guy to upload it onto his site or something, then give me an email and i’ll let you know the basics.
Also, i ordered a doctor insano t-shirt just after you did the last final fantasy 8 review and it hsn’t arrived yet. Do i need to send a threatening email to printfection? Also, where do i find your first video with Linkara? I saw the “previously on atop the fourth wall” clip with you in, but whn i searched atop the fourth wall could not actually find that video…
One last thing. You said people keep emailing you… What’s your email address? I can’t find it anywhere…

Demonish March 18, 2009 at 12:47 pm

thnx for givin a 110% ^^ spoony FTW!

VR March 18, 2009 at 12:48 pm

What? There are ads on here? Haha, I do so love AdBlock and Firefox.

Fucking hell Spoony, you’re a gross bastard but I lol’d so hard about your zit being that thing from Total Recall. You should slow down though bro. I love SWAT 4, and I’d love to see more of FF8, but you don’t need to run yourself ragged for us all. Maybe SWAT 4 could be like a weekly thing, and FF8 could be like every 2 or 3 weeks or something like that. Entertaining us is fine and all, but if you’re so swamped it’s gonna start feeling more like homework and that’ll just suck for you.

Oh, and unless a video is like a half hour or more, I never have to preload your videos. Blip loads videos really fast, it’s a good host. I don’t understand why people are complaining about having to preload, maybe they’re still using dial up. But really you should just ignore the YouTubers anyway, most people on there are fucking assholes and I say if they can’t be bothered to do something as simple as bookmark your website, then fuck ‘em.

Littlenorwegians March 18, 2009 at 12:56 pm

Oooh, Spoony. You make me laugh, don’t you…
Keep up the good work.

TinFoil March 18, 2009 at 1:00 pm

Thank you spoony for your hard work!

TinFoil March 18, 2009 at 1:02 pm

The reason I’m looking forward to FFVIII review is your funny commentary during the review

Viper6390 March 18, 2009 at 1:39 pm

YES! More SwAT 4 videos and Final Fantasy 8. This is going to be a good weekend since I have a week off from college because of Spring Break. Oh, what kind of game requests do you take because I was wondering if you could comment on a new game that came out for Wii called Madworld?

Anakha March 18, 2009 at 1:41 pm

Spoony, You are awesome. I finally finished watching all of the things on your site, and my friend showed me your 4E review.

I personally am a fan of 4E over 3E. I can’t really comment on AD&D because im too young to really have played them, and am now only getting into them. But, I find your review to be fair. its nice to hear someone point out the flaws instead of going BAWWWWW! Wizards are no longer the ULTIMATE CLASS EVAR!

Okita March 18, 2009 at 1:44 pm

who said you have to do FF8 till the end, well ok most of the guys here say that but really: I get the idea.
I did play FF8 and watched the reviews you made, but you have pretty much said everything =P
Swat 4 is fun I think to watch. Agree with RE 5, but I like RE 4 so… its ok I guess, I’ll buy it for 20 bucks in several months =D

Alex March 18, 2009 at 1:44 pm

Spoony,You rock! if i could donate i would but im only 15…anyway good luck with life! ill pray for ya :-)

Jnsbb March 18, 2009 at 2:03 pm

About the studio and stuff. I actually really like the setting you’re shooting in now, feels all cozy and nice. But I will not argue if it’s not convenient for you and you’re eventually gonna get yourself a studio.
Live in Finland, so I can’t really comment on the tv-stuff in the U.S.
And you just made my weekend, if you really are gonna get that FFVIII Part IX up. Grats.

Michael March 18, 2009 at 2:13 pm

Dude, I am absolutely sincere when I say I would watch you in *anything*. You’ve got so much talent and natural screen presence, not to mention comic timing, and I hope against hope that you can “make it” someday. :)

OK, enough sucking your e-dick. Thanks for the updates!

Mr.Phobia March 18, 2009 at 3:17 pm

about the gameshow held by gamers for gamers..
we actually had that kind of a show in germany, it was even a whole tv channel
there was even a little section where they presented their favourite movies, talked with “celebrities” like peter molineux and all kinds of stuff
but unfortunately it got shot down a couple of weeks ago by premiere,
so right now we only have ‘game one’ on mtv germany and thats not really good to rely on…

wright March 18, 2009 at 3:47 pm

if you want some good opinions on games….giantbomb has so much awesome stuff.(shameless plug) though I also don’t mind gamespot, mainly since I listen to their podcast and when your an anti-social nerd, you get to know them, and think they are your “friends” which makes you value their opinion much more. In any case…very entertaining vlogs! nice to see you pumping stuff out like crazy.

Jaclyn March 18, 2009 at 3:47 pm

See, this is why I enjoy watching you Spoony, you are just an awesome down-to-earth guy. I value your opinion on videogame reviews far more than gamespot or even x-play. There really does need to be another video game review show on tv, and that has been driving me crazy since forever. Also a movie review show on tv that isn’t cheesy or tabloid-ish would be a great welcome. Your take on RE5 is a lot like my reaction when I started playing it and frankly, I still like RE4 so for now, RE4 is still in my top favorites. Haha I feel a little guilty when you were saying at the end your audience would be the death of you and don’t worry, I will be uploading more. Making a schedule just to play video games seems a bit much, so be careful not to push yourself to the point of death. I know whatever you give us will be nothing short of epic, you keep doing what you’re doing and hopefully you can get that bigger studio or tv show. I’m rooting for ya!

NaclynE March 18, 2009 at 4:05 pm

RE 5 subject: I totally agree with him about RE 5. I just recently finished it and I felt exactly how he felt. Your playing a suped up version of RE 4 but with a blargish inventory system and a co-op feature where the AI co-op buddy is a dumbshit! I played and finished the game on normal and hated how my partner kept unloading clips on me while i’m trying to drop bosses and always seem to get in the way of my gernades when i throw them. I’m like “FUCK OFF!!!” But in terms of overall gameplay and what not I totally agree it’s vertually the same except some differant bosses (like 2 gatling gun zombie bosses and they brought back chimeras but made them bosses and have one hit kill attacks) and threw other random stuff like the use of a machinegun turret, a satalite lazergun gun (which reminds me and works to much like the HAMMER OF DAWN in GEARS OF WAR) and a few other stuff but this crap kept making me go “This is NOT GEARS OF WAR 1,2. This is RESIDENT EVIL 5.” I felt like they did a better job with RE 4 and RE 4 felt a hell alot longer than 5 because 4 took me about a month to beat while 5 took me 4 days. As a RE Fan. I was disappointed.

About the Time schedule Idea: i totally agree. what i would do is I would spend 2 hours of a game and review it then go to something else for two 2hours (a movie perhaps like MY NAME IS BRUCE?) then go to a personal thing for 2 hours and so on. I would take things in strides and not rush things. Just my opinion.

dinodain March 18, 2009 at 4:32 pm

I just want to say thank you for putting all your work into your movies and reviews. I think that you are a very talented person, and the fact that it seems like you are putting all your free time for your fans is amazing. I don’t usually freak out when you don’t update your site for a while, but I will say there are days where I will check your site up more than 3 times for a update, but still go at whatever pace you feel like doing to get things done, and I will be patience. I think you’re doing a great job and we all thank you for showing off your skills, and style, cause hey you really are HARDCORE!

The thing about getting into tv. It’s really hard now a days, even when you do have an agency. Even if you know people that are “in the business” it’s still not guarantee that will work or help you. It’s mostly like a power thing going on. Opening the door for someone to get in, seems to lower someone else position in the business, or at least that’s what a lot them in think anyway.

On RE 5, I loved Resident Evil 4, but sadly I only got to play through once (had to rent and borrow a friends Game cube) So even if it’s the same game, I might be interested to play through, since I hadn’t gotten tired on the 4th one yet. Anyway, thanks again.

NaclynE March 18, 2009 at 4:38 pm

Oh and one more thing about Resident Evil 5: Play Magazine did a review of it in a recent issue and said “This is not playing Resident Evil 4″

Bullshit.

David Andrew Wiebe March 18, 2009 at 4:53 pm

Thanks for that update, Noah.

I, for one, believe that your FFVIII review is among your best work, alongside Phantasmagoria. To see it completed would be gold.

Best of luck with pitching to TV networks, or wherever you decide to take this next. Here’s hoping you find a great environment to bring your humor to the world.

wagner (Brazil) March 18, 2009 at 4:58 pm

It´s just unbeliviable thar Spoony doesn´t have his own show in a major game/film/tv site or even on real television. Realease a DVD, I will buy it.

Tom Ashford March 18, 2009 at 5:12 pm

I agree with previous sentiments that I would watch you in anything, I would have to do so on the internet if you were ever on US tv as it probably wouldn’t be shown here in the UK.

I donated $50 to you not long ago, if I could have given more I would. Keep up the great work and don’t kill yourself trying to do it, I am just happy whenever anything new is put up and at the moment you’re spoiling me!

Michael from Germany March 18, 2009 at 6:03 pm

Hey Noah, i realy like watching your Videos. It´s a great free service. But do not kill yourself over it. There would be no harm in haveing far less videos. Have a good job, have a dirty job… have a fun job… in the end your internet fanbase alone will not make your résumé look good to your average job aplication.

I would not want you to have a bad life for the rest of your life becaus right now you are beating yourself down entertaining me with videos… thats just not worth it. – And you know how internet strdome is… if you stop doing videos half a year no one will care.

Much love and good luck with every you are trying to archive
Michael.

Michael from Germany March 18, 2009 at 6:10 pm

Oh yeah, and a Game-Show that dos not suck up to the companys will not run for the same reason Gamespot is not trust worthy. Theyr advertising marked is essentialy gamers. And EA for example dos not like to be F´ed with… if you burn the latest EA game they will just dump their advertising money for all games on the plenty amont of other websites, magazins, tv shows. (heck germany even had a german TV chanel for the last 10 years)
That sadly is true for a lot of other stuff, if you have a photo magazin you do not f with Canon and Nikon, esp the Cheap DSLR cameras…

If you want to do something like that, buidl up a webside like youtube/tgwtg for game reviews… but don´t expect much income (there is almost no, if any income in free webpages), see it as a hobby that is cheap if it breaks even…

HughesDePayens March 18, 2009 at 7:26 pm

Hey Spoony, I noticed you said you love A Game of Thrones.

If you’re into boardgames, which I think you are… I thought I eyed a copy of Carcossone on your shelf in a previous video, though I could be wrong. There is a boardgame of A Game of Thrones.

Here’s a link: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/6472

Also, a 7.57 rating (the current one it’s got) is good for that website, if you’ve never been. They generally give lowish ratings, so the rating it has is quite solid. It’s published by Fantasy Flight Games which is a pretty incredible company. And they’ve released two expansions to it… “A Clash of Kings” and “A Storm of Swords”.

They require the original game (like PC game expansions), but might be worth looking into as well.

I’ve never PLAYED the game, but I heard it was good and am working on getting it. One of the most popular sites from which to get games is funagain. Here’s their link to the game:

http://www.funagain.com/control/product/~product_id=014383

Check out the reviews, you might be interested in it.

You rule, Spoony, keep it up.

Sadko March 18, 2009 at 8:13 pm

You should TOTALLY option to be on Gamedamage as a foreign correspondant. Yahtzee’s already a big fan of your work; if you sent an e-mail, and GD kicks off (apparently they are getting some offers), you could see a steady flow of dosh!

Jo March 18, 2009 at 8:36 pm

yeah… being unemployed and not having enough money to afford a decent place to live…sucks. If you ever DID have a TV show, I would so watch it everyday!

You LIKED RE4?? I honestly hated it! …yeah…that’s just my opinion. Anyways, I actually liked RE5 than RE4, but like you said about the new game, nothing really “improved” since the RE4 game (except the story and characters being better, but again, my opinion).

You should never be rushed into making reviews. MOST of us are patient, and…make whatever the hell you want, spoons. I enjoy whatever you put on your website. :)

Mikkel March 18, 2009 at 9:22 pm

you are right, spoony, I did not need to know about your pimple-popping-fetish.

but thanks for the vids and entertainment. I am used to eating in front of you, does that sound wierd?

Lotus Prince March 18, 2009 at 10:32 pm

Honestly, my four main complaints about Resident Evil 5 are as follows.

1. The settings don’t matter. At all. You just kind of…go…places. Whatever, this is the next level, let’s get through it.
2. This was mentioned in Sage’s review, but it’s even less scary than Resident Evil 4. It’s not a survival horror anymore. The only scare is “oh my god, lots of zombies.” There’s no legitimate scary ambience anymore.
3. No Billy Coen, despite him indicating in RE0 that he was originally in Africa. I wondered if he’d show up again. That, and Jill not being playable, and being blond. Why the hell is she blond? No Claire, either. Honestly, who is Sheva, and why should I care, even slightly?
4. The final boss. SPOILER ALERT

It’s Wesker. This was a major problem for me. Wesker had always been the untouchable character in Resident Evil. You only ever interacted with him in cutscenes. He’s only grown more powerful as the series has advanced, to the point where fighting him fair is just ludicrous. What bothered me far more was his personality change. Wesker was always the cool, calculating character. Now he’s growing more and more insane, and just maintains his calm voice. He’s acting less rationally, and fell into the godawful cliche of “becoming a god to rule over all of humanity.” Seriously, Wesker? THAT’S your angle? What really did me in, though, was his transformation at the end of the game. It was lame, plain and simple. That, and it looks like you kill him. Really? Kill Wesker? That removes a lot of the magic of Resident Evil for me. The “big five” are all dead – Marcus, Ashford, Birkin, Spencer, and Wesker. There are literally no more villains, unless you get some corny underground group attempting to resurrect Umbrella. RE5 HAS to be the end of the series. Where else could it go?

END SPOILERS

Well, that’s my rant. Otherwise, the gameplay was fun, the bosses were original, Irving was fun to watch, and the coop play was amazing. But…wait. No H.U.N.K. in Mercenary Mode? Oh, COME ON.

Danbot March 18, 2009 at 10:57 pm

Totally take your time dude, please. We don’t want you burning yourself out just to entertain us. And don’t worry about the Youtards, they always want moar-moar-moar-moar-MOAR!! (Leave Spoony alone!)

HenrySpock March 18, 2009 at 10:58 pm

A geodesic white head wouldn’t have popped.

I love the SWAT 4 stuff, so don’t feel bad about putting FF aside to do something else! It’s great to see new things when they pop up unexpectedly.
