Absolutely amazing. The whole video was tight, but that last fight scene was amazing. I know it was said, but Spoony’s entrance was just epic.

I loved his reference to Tellah’s spoony scene at the end. It made the video move up one level of epicness. And that epicness was already pretty high up there, so that’s saying something.

That was a great list. Choosing from a large list of best themes is hard to do. I loved the fighting scene towards the end. I like the plot around the video rather than just a top (#) list. Way to go!

While it was not shitty, i agree that it was a tad boring until Spoony. Something about his speech and style that just doesn’t do it for me… the first 3 minutes i just skipped. But the list itself was interesting!

That was epic. Loved both of Paw’s parts, but this one having Spoony and the others there took the cake. Also loved the “spoony bard” portion at the very end.

That was terrible.
The ‘humourous” delivery was just embarassing and far too slow paced to be in any way effective.

Wow I’m surprised anyone remembered Grim Fandango awesome. Ohhh come on…..how did Xenosaga get placed over Donkey Kong 64, I don’t care if it is from past the time range you want music DK64 deliveres. I also don’t see how the Minstrel song from Romancing Saga didn’t get into the top 9 man….must have gotten lost with the shattered note or something. Seriously though, I never even heard of 4 of the games. Wild Arms, Shini Gammi blah blah, Xenosaga, and Chrono Cross….never heard of them at all.

Ya I wasnt digging it that much until the fight scene at the end. Im not big on JRPGs so my list of best gaming music is really different. Dont get me wrong the only one there I agreed with was Chrono Cross (I actually do like the chrono series), Grim Fandango, and a few others he had AT THE BOTTOM OF THE LIST but for the most part his top 5 basically was uninteresting to me. Then Spoony entered the fight…. I suddenly became more interested mainly because I find spoony more awesome then most these guys. Its just my taste in the amatuer critic scene, nothing against them really. Thanks for posting this, spoony, otherwise Id never have seen it.

You picked some really good modern choices, Xenosaga, Shadow of Colossus, Okami, Chrono Cross, and I can't blame you for the FFIX song choice, because it's a great composition. Glad to see Persona is getting put into the main stream a little more, seeing as it probably inspired your text box. I gotta say I loved the music from Eternal Sonata, Shadow Hearts: Covenant, and Valkyria Chronicles. It would've been nice to see them up there, but i'm surpised and pleased with the choices. However I would've picked Fatal Fight from Xenosaga Episode II just for its sheer epicness. Wolverines and Soul Punch? This video was such an all around win!

I didn’t like the list, but then again 1. I hate JRPGs and 2. I’m into electronic music. And besides, Jet Set Radio has awesome music.

Two good things about this vid(grim fandango and spoony) and I only got to the first one until I read in the comments that spoony and fighting is gonna be there so I reloaded and skipped to the end. The rest was just some crappy, mostly JRPG, music. I mean where’s the good stuff, Planescape: Torment, Fallout, Arcanum, now these games have good soundtracks.

The ending was epic. I watched Goggles and AngryJoe come in and I was totally hoping for Spoony. And Ta-Da. There he was. Totally made everything satisfying.

Everyone’s going to have their own opinions on what’s the ‘best’ music, so should try not to judge by that …
However, I must say it was obvious enough from the sprite he’s using as his avatar that his #1 would be something from Final Fantasy. At least it wasn’t “Eyes on Me” ;)

Check out some Noriyuki Iwadare (Grandia, Langrisser); I personally like many of his compositions more than ‘the best’ of Uematsu’s.

Okay, so let me get this straight…

Spoony comes in with a machine gun. Angry Joe makes a joke about bringing a gun into a fist fight, and Spoony makes a point that guns are superior to fists.

Then, when everyone pulls off their ultimate death beam attacks, Spoony joins the attack… with his bare hand.

There is no continuity. There is only Insano.

This is the saddest video I’ve seen in a while, regardless of musical taste. Have some dignity, man.

I don’t have the time to play games that I once did, so I freely admit to not having played at least two thirds of his list.

That said, having a list of recent awesome gaming music and leaving out the closing credits from portal, “Still Alive” is a travesty in my opinion.

Spoony, this video disappointed me greatly. I didn’t even have the heart to wait 15 minutes for this “EPIC” finale featuring you. This guy was just so dull and unfunny that I couldn’t bear to continue watching. I have never seen an online personality have such a slow pace in a video before. Why did everything need to be spoken as well as typed out? Why did half the screen need to be filled with random shit? why did an annoying message pop up when he got done with one number? From someone who exposed me to the Cinema Snob, who I enjoy greatly, it was disappointing to watch this piece of shit. I am still a fan and I will always be a fan but this video hurts me in the soul :(

People,people,people…this video is good and I like it very much. Paw knows what he’s doing and don’t forget that this list is HIS personal vgm memories. He has his own pace of telling the story and he is not Spoony which we all like:). Just remember that, everyone has his own taste and it isn’t bad jsut because it isn’t yours:).

Paw’s videos were always to slow paced for me but cross overs are always fun.

Paw’s videos are actually among the most that I’ve seen. His Let’s Play’s seem to take a lot of cues from Spoony, but that is of course a good thing. Imitation is highest form of flattery I say. His choices in Top 9 are just that “his choices”. They are songs that mean a lot to him and no one else. I can respect that. For the record, Cherry Blossom Season FTW.

I don’t see why this video has generated so much dislike. Paw picked some pretty decent songs and I may not exactly look kindly on JRPGs I will at least admit that those were some quality soundtracks. Paw seems like a guy who really loves a very specific genre of games, from a similar time and console. And that is pretty damn cool if he can find examples of JRPGs that I don’t immediately want to claw the eyes out of. So, props to Paws. And the ending sequence was awesome in every way shape and form!

Also, forgot in my post….Portal “Still Alive.” Never even played the game and yet the song is in heavy rotation on my iPod.
