That last bit made my talk like a pirate day. ;)
  • zenoffpark
This shit was not funny. Stop it. Go back in time 6 months to grab the Spoony I love and bring him back to today.
  • Dude that series was hilarious. Shame I missed it, I was on vacation. Oh well, I saw it now. Ya talk like a pirate day is dumb, but this short series was hilarious... that was great haha
  • Brandon Phillips
Skies of arcadia was the best pirate RPG I ever played.
  • Wait a second... did we really get through that whole Pirate day thing without anyone mentioning Pirates of Dark Water in any capacity?

    Wow.
  • Doc Belmont
    Spoony,

I would direct your attention to PEG's "50 Fathoms" and Green Ronin Publishing's "Skull & Bones."
  • Mr Croft Lover
    That green-screen is fuck-win

*sits down to play Pop Up Pirate

I love you guys now. Kickass.

Spoony you're fucking awesome. Even if you do sound like a Yorkshire Farmer from this side of the pond!
Thanks for taking the time to make Pirate Day even more fun than it already was!
  • Tim
You must be the palest pirate I've ever seen.

'Furry Pirates. It is a real RPG and I dare you to look it up.'

God damn there is not a thing on this earth they cannot ruin, is there?

Is your pirate British? Sure sounds like it.

Surprisingly I think so. Considering America as a nation didn't actually exist back in the good ol' pirate days.
It was back when we still had an empire that spanned the globe. I miss those days.

This series is a bit of a miss, nice try Spoony, but it wasn't very funny. Although it did illustrate the fact that there's so little anything relating to pirates in the world of games, comics, and games of the non-video variety.

Just like I'd like to point out that there's very few games based on American history, unless you count the handful of piss poor Civil War shooters. Personally I'd like to see a game based on the conflicts of America and American Indians, or of western expansion and travel. In before Oregon Trail.

Furry Pirates. It is a real RPG and I dare you to look it up.

Much like your mentioning of GURPS, I've used BESM to run a pirate themed campaign.
  • Spoony how could you and I'm about to revel how old I am so you so owe me for this one too :p

Have those of us children of the 80's forgotten that in 1991/1992 a cartoon cult classic called The Pirates of Dark Water which actually did have a comic, a video game and yes even a role playing game. Yeah I'm old and I remember it too :D

Mate, terrible accent...just awful, was it supposed to be english?
Funny little series though, made me chuckle!

"Say that to those AK-47 and RPG wielding pirates that hijack ships full of valuables."
    - Booze Zombie

My favorite kind of pirate...none of those tricorner hat-wearing "Arr ye mateys" box full `o doubloon burying Robert Louis Stephenson knock-offs, but the REAL DEAL; desperate people forced into becoming sea-going carjackers thanks to crappy local governments and a slipshod global capitalism. Take that, Cap'n. Jack Sparrow!

Ahh!! Captain Morgan...the rum of champions! Truly you are a pirate with taste.

Hey Spoony, I know you can try harder than this ^_^. You know we really like to see a review with game footage!
Thanks for recognizing national talk like a pirate day. I celebrate it too.
  • Hurp
    Swashbucklers of the 7 Skies
  • macro
Skies of Arcadia doesn't count. Those are 'Sky" Pirates. I think were trying to get old fashioned pirates the ones on the sea. If we added any other pirates then you need to also add "space" pirates to that lit as well.
  • Wagner Paiva
Funny, Noah is a cool actor and I thought that pirate impression on Wing Comander was already worth of laughs, heehe

Hey Spoony, play PERSONA 4, IT IS AWESOME.
  • Saisinkolimonadin
Some people say Kirk, some say Picard. Me, I've always preferred good ol' Cap'n Morgan.
  • Jack
LOL! I love my pirate legos!
  • Jack
Dude, I came here for game and movie reviews.
There's a new Tekken coming out soon, Sir Lord of Tekken. I was more of a SoulCalibur fan and SFIV didn't trip my fancy.. only good fighting game to be (re)released (imho) was Marvel Vs Capcom 2. I hope they do a part 3.
C'mon Spoony, I miss the game reviews and such.
