Very funny.

Japanese Schoolgirl September 19, 2009 at 3:45 pm

Galleon is very nice as well.

Kiwi September 19, 2009 at 3:47 pm

Overboard was also pretty cool.

jnywest September 19, 2009 at 3:48 pm

I hope you ARE drinking that Rum, Mr. Antwiler.

Zane! September 19, 2009 at 3:50 pm

there actually was a pirate game that got the license to pirates of the carribean stamped on sometime in its production but was nontheless a pretty fun pirate rpg-simulation game.

jamesa1986 September 19, 2009 at 3:54 pm

you did not mention any Errol Flynn films….

antidark777 September 19, 2009 at 3:56 pm

Brilliant

mark2000 September 19, 2009 at 3:57 pm

the ending always cracks me up

Memph September 19, 2009 at 4:06 pm

LOL!!!

Spoony tha MAN!!!

btw, yer pirate sounds a lot like a drunk welshman.

Me September 19, 2009 at 4:06 pm

Spoony man, you used to be such a great reviewer… now look at you! you’re just a clown, a fucking clown, and a bad one btw.

I know you’re an actor and shit but PLEASE, stop trying to copy AVGN and the stupid NC, you used to have your own really cool style. And I am not opposed to change. People change for the better, but you are changing for the worse. You are not funny anymore. Sorry but that’s the truth… the truth of a fan that has followed you for several years now.

Hermod September 19, 2009 at 4:07 pm

Ahar me hearty ye forgot the greatest pirate game in all the seven seas! Sküljagger! Hahahaharr! Oh dear… where has all the rum gone?

Destrucity September 19, 2009 at 4:15 pm

Just gotta step around these trolls here…excuse me….

Very funny. But I gotta ask…where is Scarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrlet?

Andrew Murray September 19, 2009 at 4:15 pm

What about sid myers pirates.

DaftRaider42 September 19, 2009 at 4:19 pm

Destrucity, ya bilge rat! Th’ Spoony One’s Wench be mine now. I be takin’ her to Port Royale where she will fetch a high price… which I then be usin’ to buy more Grog an’ Rum! ARRRRR!

jackie September 19, 2009 at 4:19 pm

spoony, your silliness never ceases to amaze. or maybe i’m just delirious from eating too many cookies…or both. probably both.

Inamidato September 19, 2009 at 4:28 pm

In my opinion, Monkey Island 1 & 2 are not only the best pirate games, but also the best adventure games of all time.

Monkey 3 was different but still good. The fourth one wasn’t appealing and the controls were frustrating.

Juan September 19, 2009 at 4:32 pm

@jamesa1986

maybe it was because he was talking about videogames

Jeo September 19, 2009 at 4:34 pm

You forgot skies of arcadia.

jnywest September 19, 2009 at 4:41 pm

To, the coward named ME. I think it be time you walk the plank, ARRRR

Xylon Lionheart September 19, 2009 at 4:50 pm

Looks like I was beaten to the punch for Skies of Arcadia.

Also, yar.

Neosamurai85 September 19, 2009 at 6:21 pm

Hmmm… next year might be a good excuse to review Skull and Crossbones for the NES.

And no… that was not a suggestion for a good game. Shudder.

ObieWanCoyote September 19, 2009 at 6:41 pm

Frog yes WC Privateer counts!

Although I feel the need to re-iterate myself regarding peoples criticism on what you do. Do what you want and your true crowd will follow. I probably count for a large portion of your blip tv income anyway =P.

JoeO September 19, 2009 at 7:37 pm

No mention of Talespin? I’m sure they must’ve made a NES game at some point….

Keir Ayres September 19, 2009 at 7:41 pm

How about The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker? That’s got pirates in

Spoony September 19, 2009 at 7:44 pm

Wind Waker can suck it. Oh, it was a great game…when it was called Majora’s Mask…when that was called Ocarina of Time.

Seriously, I don’t think there’s ever been a series with less evolution over the years than Zelda, except maybe Dynasty Warriors.

Brian September 19, 2009 at 8:14 pm

Wow, I’m officially done viewing this site.
Removing you from my Bookmarks…now.
Have a nice life Noah.
Lighten up and try to enjoy something that you review, or review something that you actually enjoy.
The last month of reviews has been nothing but “I liked it, but here’s every distinguishing flaw in it.”
Not funny, just bitter.

Ariamaki September 19, 2009 at 8:15 pm

Skulljager, the absolutely terrible SNES game– If only because MAN, that was a bubble-gum and piracy based headtrip in the form of an unnaturally hard video game with a manual thicker then my hand.
So much platforming pain– So much.

Ariamaki September 19, 2009 at 8:18 pm

Wow, this ‘Brian’ jackass didn’t post until during my typing spree, or I would have replied in my last comment:
LIGHTEN THE FUCK UP- People who do these reviews, at no cost to you, on the internet, are not looking for idiotic gorram responses like “Oh you’re just bitter now!”
For the love of every god above and below, if you think he was bitter this week, go back and watch Phantasmagoria! Seriously, do you even realize what the words coming out of your mouth MEAN?

My apologies to all of the sane, rational people for the all-caps; it’s the only thing assholes understand, like Kanye West only speaking in Auto-tune.
In other words, Spoony keep a-rocking, idiotic fools keep a-killing-your-selves.

Xylon Lionheart September 19, 2009 at 8:40 pm

Wind Waker is actually my favorite Zelda game, though the sailing was indeed tedious. It’s true that the Zelda games have many similar elements, but that still doesn’t mean that the series is overall a very good series. I know people look at lack of innovation as a bad thing in many games, but if the end result is still fun and worth the money, you don’t need to fix what isn’t broke, you know what I’m saying?

Xylon Lionheart September 19, 2009 at 8:42 pm

EDIT: I mean to say ,”It’s true that the Zelda games have many similar elements, but that still doesn’t mean that the series *ISN’T* still overall a very good series.” I’ll chalk that error up to tiredness.

I’m still curious to know what Noah thought about Skies of Arcadia if he’s even played it.

godofplague September 19, 2009 at 8:44 pm

Pirates… IN SPACE!!! Privateer was awesome. What do you do for fun around here? Drink some Beer!

Beardman September 19, 2009 at 8:44 pm

The best pirate game that i played was probly Rouge Galexy. Its an RPG taht is hard as hell and extreamly long as hell, but your a pirate. YARRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

JIC September 19, 2009 at 9:12 pm

No love for Uncharted Waters?

BAH!

Andrew The Eternal September 19, 2009 at 9:14 pm

Majora’s Mask being a clone of Ocarina of Time.

I’ll pretend that was the Captain in ya.

JoeO September 19, 2009 at 9:19 pm

Eh. People don’t play Zelda for evolution anyway. There aren’t many quality games in this vein, so Zelda holding to the same (high) quality level but with new characters and puzzles etc doesn’t bug me at all.

k87jury September 19, 2009 at 9:39 pm

Dude You have the ARRR pun for in all the videos descriptions but this one. Come on. You can do it. Go for 4 out of 4.

Zolton September 19, 2009 at 9:40 pm

Weird, I was always under the impression people hated Wind Waker and Majora’s Mask because they were too different from Ocarina of Time. Just look at any games message board ever.

Kersplackle September 19, 2009 at 10:18 pm

The Metroid franchise maintains SPACE pirates…they still qualify right…right?! super metroid is still the best snes game ever.

Kvb September 19, 2009 at 11:00 pm

Zack & Wiki?

…Okay, yeah, never mind.

Willmage September 20, 2009 at 12:42 am

Yeah I was going to say Skies of Arcadia as well.
