The Spoony Experiment

Video Outages

by Scarlett on October 24, 2009 · View Comments

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to quickly post and let you know that we’re aware of the problems with viewing TSE’s videos. This is an issue with Blip.tv (the site where the video files are hosted), and all we know is that it’s related to a connectivity outage. I’ve been getting a lot of messages asking if people need to update video drivers and Flash, but it’s definitely on Blip’s end and will hopefully be resolved very soon. This would be a great time to sign up for TSE’s Forum, check out the written movie reviews, or have a look at the other site features you may have missed.

Thanks for your patience!

- Scarlett

multani October 24, 2009 at 6:58 pm

Sheesh thank God, I was wondering why it wasn’t only on THIS website but ThatGuyWithTheGlasses.com. Oh well glade it’s not just me.

Lotus Prince October 24, 2009 at 7:20 pm

I’ve had this happen on other sites, so I doubted that the problem was over here. Thank you for the update!

angelique_sp October 24, 2009 at 7:20 pm

Cinemassacre’s out too…..whew….worried for a minute! :)

Sai October 24, 2009 at 7:38 pm

I thought it might be Blip given that the problem was on several sites I visit, but I’m glad someone confirmed it!

Billy October 24, 2009 at 7:56 pm

Looks like they’re back up.

Fusashi Yuraka October 25, 2009 at 12:01 am

You Know this whole time I have not had problems with blip.tv…I think it’s because I am using Opera…I think that Opera and blip.tv where coded the same way…if that makes sense…

CrimsonDusk October 25, 2009 at 12:36 am

Had the issue since Saturday and today is still persisting. I checked on my laptop and my PC and it’s the same problem, hope it’s not country centered something like blip.TV is not available in some countries( hope thath’s not the case) and be soon fixed because it’s annoying to see updates and can’t see the videos while hearing other people that they actually saw the videos while I still can’t load a single video.

TGSaK October 25, 2009 at 2:14 am

i am still able to watch the videos, but only if i visit the site via a proxy-server (like http://anonymouse.org/anonwww_de.html )

quite strange if u ask me o.O

Hubilub October 25, 2009 at 2:16 am

THIS IS A CONSPIRACY TO GET MORE PEOPLE TO SIGN UP ON THE FORUMS! :O

HeirofSparda October 25, 2009 at 3:35 am

I just had my computer recover from some major trojans, I was afraid there was still something wrong with my computer. You’ve put my mind at ease Spoony.

Poipoi October 25, 2009 at 4:32 am

This is what happens when Spoony gets trapped in Voids, the whole universe goes to hell! lol

thehivemind33 October 25, 2009 at 6:21 am

Who knows? It could have been related to Spoony being trapped in the Blagole. 0_0

jkgatling October 25, 2009 at 6:28 am

Ive had ZERO problems… honsetly ive NEVER had ANY problems with BLIP…. NEVER

Stef October 25, 2009 at 6:36 am

So, while we’re waiting for this to be fixed, you want to take me out on a date? x

Ponzi October 25, 2009 at 8:38 am

Never had any problems, it appears that Seattle is very Blip-friendly!

ajh October 25, 2009 at 8:47 am

huh that’s weird,i don’t have any trouble watching the videos.

Admiral Awesome October 25, 2009 at 8:57 am

I haven’t had any problems with the videos, I guess I’m one of the fortunate ones.

mambodog October 25, 2009 at 9:25 am

bloody blip tv… its always something with them

dragon_hunter21 October 25, 2009 at 9:39 am

Uh, Scarlett, you’ve got bigger problems.
Visiting ANY page on the site causes an instant crash in Firefox. Sure enough, when I come in here with Chrome, Shockwave Flash crashes instantly. That’s the sidebar and the Twitter feed gone.

But yeah, excellent work keeping us in the loop. Keep up the good work.

Dudey October 25, 2009 at 9:44 am

=S It doesn’t make my Firefox crash *feels bad*

Pinkemon October 25, 2009 at 10:53 am

This whole thing is pretty strange.

I can’t watch any vids on here and TGWTG(They won’t load), but I’ve seen comments of people who COULD watch the vids.

sethnuva October 25, 2009 at 11:56 am

you know what the fucked up thing is… blit.tv’s site works fine
i can watch all the spoony episodes there still.

diggerjohn111 October 25, 2009 at 3:33 pm

Contrary to the previous posting; Thanks for the heads-up Scarlett!

Jared October 25, 2009 at 4:16 pm

Crapsticks. I was hoping this was in reference to the fact that I’ve had trouble viewing TSE videos for months now, but reading that it’s just a thing for today. Poop. Anyone have any advice? Ever since The Ripper reviews went up, I haven’t been able to watch these without massive skipping and freezing. What am I doing wrong?

(who just realized he should take this to the forum)

FZiii October 27, 2009 at 8:49 pm

Bite me big time Blip.tv !!!!
AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

DB October 27, 2009 at 8:50 pm

It’s deja vu all over again!

It’s just as well. There are other things I should be doing anyway… but I like distractions like this place!

Haywood Jablowme October 27, 2009 at 8:51 pm

I noticed that things went to crap when youtube and blip semi merged. Is there a connection. Mostlikley no i hope blip gets back and running mabey it has H1N1 The computer version. lol

Specterm91 October 27, 2009 at 8:52 pm

Well, in the mean time, I read the short story I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream is based on… Jesus H. Fucking Jackson, that was pretty screwed up. I doubt I’ll ever play the game if it’s that damn creepy and weird. Wonder why no one’s tried to adapt that into a movie yet. >_>

Sebastian October 27, 2009 at 8:52 pm

jet another problem with blip.tv…thanks for the heads-up

Silver October 27, 2009 at 9:47 pm

Problem continues to be on-going, and it’s defenitely Blip.tv that’s at fault. Blip itself was down when I went to check, so hopefully they’ll have this mess sorted out post-haste. Because lord knows how many sites I visit that use Blip…

And while we’re at it, somebody mind lettin’ Spoony know his last YouTube upload seems to be cutting off mid-video?

ObieWanCoyote October 27, 2009 at 10:08 pm

I was just thinking it was an issue with the new videos as they came out. Too many of us “rabid fans” trying to watch it at once, causing the servers to time out. I’ve had no problems with watching the older videos direct from blip tv’s site. Just the newest ones usually. But I haven’t been watching so much lately. Sorry Noah, I’m a bad friend for watching SVU instead of your swag =P.

Ucher53 October 27, 2009 at 11:16 pm

Funny to see TSE is far better at updating its fans than Valve.

Altoman5 October 28, 2009 at 9:53 am

Thanks for the update, Scarlett. We’re still not worthy.

Anon 1 October 29, 2009 at 4:46 am
