I don’t think it’s that close. Film Brain is pretty good at pointing out flaws in the movies he reviews and I think most of his jokes are actually good, but he’s simply the wrong person to deliver them – someone else could probably make his show hilarious.
The Distressed Watcher also isn’t THAT bad (see his video on Transformers 2 on YouTube) but his vids on TGWTG are just painful.
Now that’s comedy! Benzai is a funny guy.

^Matthew G: I can see where you’re coming from, and admittedly I have a hard time watching his videos just because his voice and delivery are just so annoying, so I’m open to the possibility that his material might be funny if someone else delivered it. Like the Shameful Sequels guy, for instance. Then again, he is very, very nitpicky about almost everything, and I thought many of his jokes were distasteful too (masturbating under the desk, anyone?).
All of those – totally valid reasons. Especially Sales Tax.

Yeah, I don’t get the whole Trailer Failure bit, either. Seriously, what’s the point? We know trailers are inaccurate and terrible; that’s kinda their reason for existing. They are adverts, nothing more. If a trailer doesn’t appeal to you that either means that the ad company screwed up (which, at least, means that it really is a failure so the title is correct) or you are not the target audience. To use trailers as the basis for a movie review is ridiculously silly. One does not seriously review a car based on the ads for it, right? Can you imagine if cleaning liquids were reviewed entirely based on their adverts? Every single one would simultaneously be the best thing on planet earth while also being inferior to all other brands. I just don’t see why anyone would bother reviewing trailers as being proper summaries of the movie they’re advertising. The very idea is impossibly naive and foolish.
Also: Benzaie rocks. He really needs to do more French lessons.

Eh? I don’t believe I ever mentioned Filmbrain (I rather like those videos) or the Distressed Watcher. I just don’t get the whole point of the Trailer Failure feature for reasons previously stated. That has nothing to do with the presenter of it (though I do find the Distressed Watcher’s delivery a tad on the annoying side as well).
Distressed Watched grates on my nerves. If you like him that’s great…but his delivery needs work imo…much less his tendency to reply needlessly to every negative comment he gets with immature comments or insults just got to be too much and I stopped watching

Benzaie is great… My favorite line is “I have to level up in Borderlands”, that’s exactly what I’m doing right now and anyone who played that game knows how addictive it can be.

One thing tho, while I dont like final fantasy and highly doubt 13 will change my mind, whats the problem with it being on the 360? If it has to do with it losing its exclusive purity or somethin like that, it used to be a nintendo franchise, so whats the problem.

I think I speak for everyone here when I say: Your videos need more Benzaie and Beary…but not too much. Just one or two quick little jokes, or an intro. Unless you go full bore and do a joint review. That would be awsome…once in awhile.
Oh, and my heart made that noise when I played Brothers in Arms: Earned in Blood on the PS2. That game forever scarred my soul.

That is the sound of ultimate suffering. My heart made that noise when I saw Deadpool turn into some sort of SNK boss at the end of the Wolverine movie. The Spoony One makes it now.
I like The Distressed Watcher. All there is to it. Can’t really argue with anyone who dislikes him. Film Brain, though, gets on my nerves. Haven’t really seen much of his stuff, but between his annoying stereotypical opening, his voice, and his overall style, I just can’t get into his videos. I first saw his Equilibrium review with my uncle, never seen the movie and that was the first vid of his that I saw, and we both just kept saying “why is this bad?” Believe it or not, yelling “SYMBOLISM!” as if it’s a bad thing and pointing out that there are no fingerprints on guns used by someone who’s wearing fucking gloves is not funny nor entertaining. Plus, as shallow as the movie may be as I said I haven’t seen it yet, the choreography was actually really well done in my opinion.
