    I love this guy. Go go go Until We Win. We needed someone to seriously beat these hard ass games and talk about em in detail.
  • sprode
    Oh geeze LordKat... Not Battletoads.

    Please, not Battletoads.
  • dood
    That guy just beat the crap out of your unbeatable game.
    Got nothing to say on that?
  • PsychoKrazyTime
    To all people who complain about LordKat not being funny, well no shit he isn't funny. He's not even trying to be. His videos are entertaining in a different way. Entertainment doesn't necessarily have to be funny in order to be good. There's all kinds of it out there. Open your minds a bit. Spoony's great, but so are other entertainers, just in a different way.
  • ScurvyDan
    LordKat is great. He isn't in it mainly for the "laughs", but I still find him amusing as well as extremely informative.
    Kind of like JewWario on TGWTG. The humor is playful at best, but the main focus of his shows are on being informative and helpful.
  • ramik
    lol...funny how all the Spoony fans are ragging on UWW for beating a game Spoony found impossible...stop being fanboys, if you haven't noticed they're all pretty much friends...0o
  • Colonelfancy
    Man, this game.......It was harder than Battletoads, if you were playing it while driving off a rocky cliff while at the same time getting a tattoo! What were they thinking?!
  • Matrim
    Hmmm...I'm undecided as to whether or not I buy all of LordKat's stuff. I like his reviews, but I think it would be good to show us 1 uninterrupted play-through for one really hard game.
  • D'jakamoe
    @BendyStraw101

    i agree with you completely. he even says "i dont have an NES".. meaning hes using an emulator, and if he were to save all this footage of him playing the game for a month it would be E-Fucking-NORMUS. his series would be so much more believable/better if it had some of his reactions as he was playing (like spoony and AVGN) instead it just cuts to him with a few words about it. im willing to believe he doesnt use cheats cause.. well he has footage of him playing, but no save states?... i dont think so.

    @Zaphrasz:
    You're absolutely right - I apologize. I meant to type Saiser in my post, not Zaphrasz.
  • Ryoku84
    You know this UWW guy was interesting to watch and more informitive then entertaining but the point was to give advice, not get laughs. My advice to him is make the camera focus on him rather than angled 30 degrees on random stuff, but otherwise he's okay. Seems like his fans have a thing for the f word though and like Spoonys big fans can't stand reading critcism about their heroes, but nearly all big fans act that way, its not just Spoonys fans that eat up anything he puts out. As for comparing these two UWW has better skills with Bayou Billy but when it comes to being entertaining its like comparing a Ferrari to a Hummer, they're both made and intend on different things as UWW is for advice while Spoony is for laughs when it comes to games.
  • Zaphrasz
    @justin butela
    I never claimed he didn't do it fairly. I have no reason to believe that he is lieing or a reason to care if he were.
  • Rad86
    Yeah i think LordKat's alright. He certainlt makes games that previously seemed impossible possible. He isn't perfect at what he does and he has some room for improvement.
  • justin butela
    @Bekefel:
    Hey! We don't take kindly to your thinking-outside-the-box BS around here. You're either in agreement that LK sucks or you agree that it's pointless to compare the two. Third options and shades of grey are simply not acceptable here on the Interwebs.

    Also, I'm going to beat your prediction and complain that comments that complain about how the other two types of comments are wasting my time are, also, wasting my time. Beat that.
  • DrKeun
    I luv lord kat!
    his series has its own ...beauty :-)
    he's not spoony... but I'd say it's like apples and oranges
    and he seems to apperciate other critics works, especially spoonys...
    so.. hey! no reason to hate him.
  • ThomasMink
    @Wade
    Uhhhm.. that's the idea. His series is called Until WE Win, not Until 'I' Win. He's out to inspire others by showing the games ARE actually beatable by anyone who is willing to suffer through their hardships.
  • Bekefel
    Funny how it began with "LK sucks! Hes not as good as Spoony" then turned into "how can you people compare the two gobble gobble", both of which are just as annoying as each other.

    Of course now it will likely become annoying when people point out that both types of comments are wasting their time, but I said it first, so sod you all.

    And Wade, anyone can do anything with enough practice. I never thought I'd finish Ninja Gaiden II (360) on even the Normal difficulty, yet I eventually managed to do it on Very hard difficulty. The more you play the better you get, especially alot of these old games where it's as simple as learning patterns or finding the cheapest methods possible. Also maybe you just suck, what do I know.
  • Wade
    this guy a prick it acts as if iit so easy and anyone could do this game
  • justin butela
    @Name*, Zaphrasz:
    Please tell me that both of you are joking with this "demand" for footage. LordKaT's claim, for the record, is that he has legitimately completed the games that he's featured; *NOT* that he's completed them in a short amount of time. And I'm willing to bet that if he *did* have months worth of footage of him playing these games (via actual console or emulator) that *someone* would claim that he faked the footage. Christ, how do some of you put your panties on in the morning without something breaking or bursting into flames?

    As far as LK repeatedly saying things like "all you've gotta do" or "it isn't too difficult", well... whatever. He does, but in his defense, A) there just ain't that many ways to describe video game strategies in online video form, and more importantly, B) by saying "it isn't too difficult" or "all you've gotta do", he's trying to imply that these games aren't the impossible challenges that their reputation might have you believe. By showing the audience how to exploit the AI, all he's saying is "Look - if I can do this, you can do this. It may not be the easiest thing you ever do, but you can do this." It's a nice counter-balance to AVGN or Spoony, where their act is to make whichever game they're featuring out to be a horrific, unplayable nightmare, to which they comically overreact to.
  • RC2
    Lets not forget that LordKat beat super ghoul's and ghosts too. I consider that a feat probably tougher than beating the rest of the games on there. Surviving that stupid bracelet run when you play the game a second time was insanely difficult.
  • Franco
    Wow, I need to watch this when I get home. This has got to be one of the hardest 8-bit games ever made and it's a shame too because the game mechanics really do show promise it's just the difficulty and collision detection that's way off.
  • Judging by both Spoony's and UWW's review/playthrough of the game I figured that the only people who would play this would be hardcore nerds or kids who don't know Double Dragon exists (assuming they only have an NES). No offense to anyone but while a game may be challenging, it shouldn't suffer from those kind of flaws Bayou Billy has. However a plus to BB for having a very nice ending. Both the music and the cut scene was cosy and more elaborate that other games with better gameplay and graphics at the time had.
  • Ok, let's get it right...
    Seriously….. Something needs to be said and underlined emphatically about the scores of idiot commenters who seem to love Spoony and automatically hate everyone else and then bitch and whine about the mere existence of OTHER PEOPLE…

    I have to agree with the few of you on here, who have the balls to stick up for what’s right and point out that a lot of Spoony’s fans here are ignorant, close-minded, self-centered, sycophantic little fucking asshole dipshits who attempt, in a gloriously pathetic manner to suck up to him, and instantly bash and rip into absolutely anyone who is NOT Spoony.

    Even Spoony doesn’t appreciate you fucking little asskissing morons. In fact, i’m pretty sure he’s insanely disturbed by all of you creepy sycophants who keep lining up to give him a blowjob by insulting everyone else for the crime of not being born as YOUR personal hero.

    You people like this are stupid assholes. Nothing but. Cut and dry, plain and simple.

    Until We Win is a phenomenal series, and LordKat deserves, at the very least, your FUCKING RESPECT.

    Spoony is great. Well guess the fuck what? So are other people out there. Look people… Spoony isn’t going to blow you just because you say he’s the only person on the internet that is any good. Moreover, you’re fucking wrong. No, not as a matter of opinion. I mean statistically.

    It is absolutely fucking impossible for only one internet personality to be great, and for ALL OTHERS to be nothing but shit. Anyone who believes this, you are nothing but wrong, and only attempting to somehow nudge yourself closer to self-centeredly expecting some kind of sexual favor from a man you unhealthily idolize as a god. And don’t for one second even fucking attempt to rebuttal this and deny it. No, shut the fuck up. Anything you say will only reinfornce your sycophantic viewpoint.

    He’s a video making internet personality. And a good one. Well so is UWW. So are others. MANY others. Have some fucking respect for people that deserve respect, and stop being a bunch of ungrateful, asshole, elitist, self-absorbed overprivileged, cunt-sniffing, asskissing, pigheaded little motherfuckers.

    I like Spoony, but you know what I don’t like? The worst part about this site. The majority of you asskissingly, disturbed, disrespectful, fucking shitlickers in the comments. YOU RUIN THIS SITE. Jesus pole dancing Christ…. this is but one of the many sites that would be VASTLY better off if people couldn’t comment on it. Except for me and a few others with common sense to set it straight, of course.
  • @Vincente

    Guess you forgot about the invincibility potions.
  • Can anyone really say they won if they spend time mastering Bayou Billy?
    -Jared

    On task: I kind of zoned out when the original advice to beating this game was: "Be Japanese and play the original version. It was apparently super-easy."
  • Zaphrasz
    I love seeing incredibly hard games being beaten, and I watch LordKat, but he isn't terribly funny and he has a habit of repeating phrases way too often, things like "all you have to do," "it isn't too difficult," "there really isn't anything I can tell you," and the like.

    Also, Battletoads isn't too hard if you use two of the warps. Chakan, however, go ahead, use the warp in that game. Won't help you.
  • Saiser
    @Name*

    Clearly you don't know the Silver Surfer game. There are quite a few complete playthroughs on YouTube by other people (which is why I consider Silver Surfer one of his slighly lesser achievements, at least not on the level of Chakan or Battletoads), and you'll notice that each level is about six minutes long. The problem is so much crap tries to kill you in those couple of minutes and you die in one hit. It's entirely possible to beat it fairly through brute trial and error in the time he claims he did (slightly less than a month).

    If you're going to demand explicit footage of his playthrough as absolute proof that he didn't use savestates I'd call out Battletoads... because if he really beat that game fairly then he is a true god amongst gamers.
  • BenRGamer
    I'd be suspect if he had more games, but there doesn't appear to be all that many. Tackling only one every month or two would makes these things do-able, generally.
  • AlCool
    I love UWW. Not only is it a trip into the past, right into the games I used to play religiously on my NES systems, but he does what, for the most part I couldn't back then, and inspires me to try again now.

    When I first bought Bayou Billy I actually had the BALLS to try and do it with the zapper. Besides my POS TV back then making my hit detection near nil, it didn't help that all those lives I'd lost in the shooting stages were making it impossible to have enough to make it through the areas after.

    Saw this on youtube, TGWTG, and just had to watch it again here. You are one of the Heroes of the internet LordKat!
  • roemer
    @name
    hes already said that it took him an entire month to beat it, and on chakan he already said he died over 100 times in one level, because the jumps were leaps of faith.
