And there's number three. Spooky how they always seem to go in trios. I hope that's it for now, it's getting really depressing…

  • Mr. Mook

9 people so far in the last year.

What I tell you. THERE DROPING LIKE FLIES!!! Who's next?

  • CalebTheTimeTraveler

    Dammit!
First Tony Jay, now Robert Culp. Why are all the good Villains dying!

  • kenori

    Goddamnit Spoony!

I saw that pic and thought Bill Cosby had died.

Almost gave me a heartattack :(

Not saying that it isnt sad, but I'm not sure who robert Culp is….

  • http://twitter.com/mlsterben Ben Littlejohn

Seriously, it's always in threes. We won't hear about another celebrity death for a while, then another three will drop.

  • BerserkChip

I had the exact same reaction! That scared the crap out of me! But it's still sad, yeah.

  • TheGubbinz

I`ve only ever seen a few old reruns of I spy on retro, but it was pretty good.

  • JoeyJoeJoeJrShabadoo

Nooooo!!!! Not robert Culp! He was awesome!!!

  • JoeyJoeJoeJrShabadoo

He was the voice of Dr. Breen in Half Life 2 :(

  • MitchellBandes

No! Not Robert Culp! Anybody but Robert Culp!

    Who's Robert Culp?

    • Anonymous

You know what would be great? If Mitchell Bandes died and everyone asked “Who’s Mitchell Bandes?”. Including his immediate family. That shit would crack me up.

  • JoeyJoeJoeJrShabadoo

He was in I Spy (picture above), Everybody Loves Raymond as Robert Barone's father in-law, and also did Dr. Breens voice in Half-Life 2. And countless other movies, and TV shows.

  • capthavic

well that's #3, hopefully thats all for the time being.

  • Agrippa911

Also was in Greatest American Hero, loved him in that show.

  • caludra

Oh for the love of…. Why is everybody that is awesome dropping dead all of a sudden?!

  • MrZer0

So far it's nowhere NEAR as bad as 2009
man did we fill up some celebrity graves last year…

  • Plaguelord40K

OH no!!!! WTH Is going on here?!? Three Deaths in the same month?!?!?

    This is sad….

    Please, no more…..

  • http://twitter.com/startiller startiller

    :( Aww.

I thought at first glance of the picture that Cosby died. I nearly had a heart attack until I read the description O_O (I know, I'm weird).

  • sniktbub

Don't scare me man, I thought Cosby had died for a second.

  • They Call Me The Fizz

Another criminally underrated actor leaves us… :(

  • Eniliad

Holy shit… did we not lose enough celebrities in 2009?

  • Ruiner

Spoony don't get me wrong dude it is certainly admirable to raise awareness of the Loss of Robert Culp, but I think it is a little counter productive to use this photo. As the below comments show most people seem only confused by Bill Cosby's presence. This might be easier said then done but maybe you could use a solo picture first, and then the duo picture below it. I apologize if you have already attempted this, and the picture you presented was all you could find available.

  • yokorose

wow and i liked that guy :( he did the voice for Dr. Wallace Breen in half life 2 , game will not be the same with out him , he will be missed :(

  • http://www.facebook.com/LordMalvern Brian Puschell

And now he is being welcomed to the City 17 of the sky.

  • anonns

yeah man, I don't want that thought in my head!…sure I Spy was good but come on…

    use this instead http://img.allposters.com/6/LRG/27/2770/1NXTD00…

Bill Cosby is the greatest by the way…and I hope he lives forever

  • ApatheticOne (the original)

Damn…for a minute I thought Dr. Cosby passed..

    RIP Mr. Culp

  • http://www.facebook.com/SarkisSamuel Sarkis Samuel

I'll always remember Robert Culp as the murderer in the 70's Columbo episodes, what an amazing actor. RIP

  • http://www.facebook.com/tanner.corcoran Tanner Corcoran

Come ON now guys. Two out of these three were in their 80's. 80 is a good haul for anyone, Haim was the only one that people should be concerned about. Guy was maybe just into his thirties. 80 is about the time to go, does anyone REALLY want to live that long.

    • Anonymous

      I do.

  • DrakeClawfang

Sad, I loved him on Everybody Loves Raymond. My dad says he was a distant cousin (our family name is Culp), and for that and my knowledge of his roles I wish I had gotten the chance to meet him some day. Rest in peace, Robert Culp.

  • http://twitter.com/EpicCardboard Epic Cardboard

Seriously, guys, if you're just popping in to ask who these people who die are, don't bother commenting.

That said, I'll definitely miss Robert Culp. What a great, underrated actor.

  • babea44713

I also thought Bill Cosby died, based on the pic. Gave me a jolt, since I grew up with the Cosby Show (as much as I'm ashamed to admit it nowadays).

Not very well known with Robert Culp's work, though. I guess I'm too young to remember I Spy, and never really noticed him on Raymond (although I never really followed that sitcom closely). I guess he was a fine actor since Spoony chose to pay respects on his site, but I kinda think it would be more appropriate if Cosby wasn't there on the pic (just to avoid the awkward confusion)..

  • tiggerpete

what is with the classic actors dying? first Peter Graves, now Robert Culp? who is next Martin Landau? this is pretty ridiculous.

  • misterkeitel

I remember him being on an episode of the Twilight Zone. It was a very trippy story where he was a guy on the run with a glass hand that talked to him and gave him orders during a fight with other time traveling secret agents all out to kill each other. In the end he found out that he was in reality some kind of robot. Also, I remember him on the ever schlocky Greatest American Hero – a show I remember most for it's theme song that is now played at the start of the Cinema Snob episodes. He was a good, durable actor who could always be counted on to do a stand up job on whatever TV show or movie part he was called to play. It must be good to be able to look back on your life and see so many accomplishments and successes. I know that 79 seems very old to most of you. I remember when I was a teenager in the super age conscious 60's and 70's and at that time I thought that 30 was the end of life. But the older I get, the higher the bar gets in my mind for what constitutes old. But 79 years of life does not seem too bad, when it's a good life.

  • magus12000bc

I'm sure then Bill Cosby eventually does die, YTMND will be all over it.

  • http://celluloidandsilicon.blogspot.com/ Avenging_Mike

Ditto. The man was an excellent actor. RIP good sir.

  • Crysander

Hey Spoony/Noah, not that i want to criticise what is obviously a farewell message to a beloved star of some kind, but in the future, could you perhaps give a sentence or two to describe why your sad there parting or something? To a complete non movie buff like myself, i have absolutely no idea what most of these stars did, until i Wiki’d them after seeing them on your wall, and id like to know why your remembering them :) Although i imagine your always pretty busy and that might not be feasable, it would be nice to know what your thinking when you post these. Hope that didnt come off as negative in anyway, because thats not what im getting at ^^

    Sincerely, Chris.

  • VenomSpawn

    That's a shame…

Almost thought you were saying Bill Cosby was dead in the second it took me to scroll down.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Marcus-Lundgren/642791648 Marcus Lundgren

Just like others have said, I first thought Bill Cosby had died.
    Then I thought “Pheew!”
And THEN I felt ashamed. For of course it's also sad that it's in fact Robert Culp
    who's snuffed it. R.I.P. Bob.

  • JeanJacket

I'll be joining the ranks of the people who went “BILL COSBY D: …Oh. Phew. …ROBERT CULP?! D:”

  • xelnagahomie

The Half Life 2 finale won't be the same without the flawed but understandable Wallace Breen.

    He will be missed.

  • batlashes

Oh god for a second there I thought Bill Cosby was dead :(

  • https://me.yahoo.com/a/SVaUEG85oeTWalsdMvqoPcTApmk-#d2b3e cvb

Are these death posts really necessary ? I mean this is comedy/review site and there has recently been more obituaries than reviews. You come to this site looking for entertainment and BANG!, you are reminded of death and loss.

  • Poipoi

They both look so young in that old picture.

  • Poipoi

He is showing a great actor respect.

there goes another part of my childhood…

  • Gunwild

Comedy straight men are like the solid foundation of a house: you never think about how important they are until you're short one.

  • catoblepa

He was simply one of the most important actors of my childhood: he was just perfect in Greatest American Hero, as FBI agent Bill Maxwell.

  • Renaissance_nerd

Let ua not forget his amazing work as Dr Breen in Half Life 2 R.I.P.

  • KaitBunny

What a great man. We're glad to have had him.

  • KaitBunny

I thought Landau already was for the longest time until recently.

  • GamerKT

    Me, too. :(

  • http://superbunnybun.deviantart.com SuperBunny

Meanie Spoony! I looked at this and first saw the picture, then ‘In Memoriam’, and freaked out. “Oh my god! Bill Cosby died?!” and then began to fear for all the jello pudding in the world, and who would be it’s savior from evil without him.

I’m glad I misunderstood, but also sad that Culp died. I admittingly know very little about him, but I’m sure the world will feel his loss. Here’s to you culp. *eats pudding in his honor*

After hearing about Robert Culp, I seriously spent like a week watching “I, Spy” online, just marveling that a 1960s spy series could still be so imminently awesome.
