Oh come on, The Sharp Shooter was weaksause compared to the Scorpion Death lock!

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_A7JBDLS5EO566RT43WE6ONEU64 KoffaS

Are you forgetting The Rock use to hit the Sharp Shooter. For shame Mr. Gardner.

  • http://twitter.com/ImmortalDreamer Tim Benson

Jesus Christ, its Mortal Kombat meets the WWF!

“I bet that's not even the real Undertaker. It's probably just some – “
    “I HEARD that Curtis…”

  • http://twitter.com/CedarMusketeer Bryan Gardner

I still say the Scorpion Death lock is more Deadly than the Sharp Shooter. ( And for those of you who don't get the joke, they are the same move. )

  • http://www.stablewars.com Imma Psychonaut

Silly Spoony, there already is a TNA Impact game

  • saibot216

    TOASTY!!!

Oh man, I actually loved this game. Having fish fly out of Yokozuna when you hit him was hilarious.

  • http://www.facebook.com/Parbr Brad Parsons

dude, I used to love No Mercy!

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Justin-Duarte/100000444656764 Justin Duarte

blah, bret is lame. i went to an autograph signing of his like eight years ago and he had this really gay voice. my friend anthony was sucking up to him badly saying his whole family was a bret hart fan when in truth they don't even watch wrestling. then i got up there and asked him if he would ever return to wrestling and he said not unless the wwe apologizes.

  • desertpunk23

1st-Spoony you may or may not be happy to know that Ultimate Warrior is on this games sequel WWF in Your House for the PSX. Which is basically this game all over again, but when WCW's World Tour (Virtual pro wrestling in Japan) the first game to use the No Mercy engine came out and whooped “In Your House's” ass Accliam changed to the Warzone engine.

2nd- Fire Pro and KOC are better than No Mercy (<>_<>), well imo lol

  • notyoursavior78

That game was actually a shit load of fun. I would play it pretty non stop at times. Plus the 3 vs. 1 challenges against the computer were pretty entertaining and hilarious. The Genesis and Super Nintendo Versions were widely different from each other though. The Genesis version had more wrestlers in general and wrestlers in the ring yet the SNES version did have clearer sound and crisper graphics. I played the SNES version more, but I always had respect for the Genesis version because it was more true to the actual arcade game. Sadly I never played the PSX version heh

Fair enough about the Wrestlemania 2000 or No Mercy for the N64 point as they were better. Back then the other options you could play was WWF Royal Rumble or WWF Raw (or that abysmal Super Wrestlemania game). Good commentary though I came immediately from facebook here to see this and Spoony nailed Paul Bearer perfectly, that was amazing!

Well, if you had the moeny and friends in Japan, there were also a lot of Japanese Wrestling games you could play.

it's been 11 years, but the Owen joke wasn't cool man. I know he fucked up Austin's everything, but come on. Austin's doin a lot better than Owen now.

either way, great vid and commentary. I never got a chance to play this game, but i do still own “In your house” for the saturn which DID have Ultimate Warrior. Great fuckin memories. Thats all i wanted, just cheesy ass semi wrestling beat em ups. And at least these games were true to characters size. I used to love RAW for snes, but yokozuna was thin!!!??? what the hell was up with that.

    • MissAshley

Keep in mind Owen was still alive when this game was first released. That kept the joke in good taste for me.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Thomas-Kelley/100000588189282 Thomas Kelley

First off, I'd just like to point out that an 8-Bit Mickey/Spoony tag team could beat just about any tag team in pro wrestling today.
Second, I still don't think that that was the “real” Undertaker, he looked black to me…
And third, I suplexed Yokozuna just last week. I don't see what the big deal is. ;)

  • TCBLB

All those morning stars that come out of Lex Luger STILL wouldn't make John Cena lay down for a 3 count.

  • MrZer0

hmmm, couldn't help but notice that Bret's tips segment was just him beating up Shawn Micheals
All very professional, I'm sure. I bet there's a crumpled up post-it somewhere in Acclaim's basement with Bret's suggestion that the sharpshooter should rip HBK's legs out of their sockets

  • http://www.facebook.com/LordFjordbak Robin Fjordbak Jensen

Warning, my english can be shity

lol i remember this game, i used to play it on my uncel's pc, good memories though

  • RWill

I've never heard of this game, but it may be my new favorite thing ever.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Sebastian-Proano/610127942 Sebastian Proaño

Both moves are nothing compared with the Sasori Gatame*.

(*) The original move invented by Riki Chosu… yes, I am a Wrestling geek…

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Sebastian-Proano/610127942 Sebastian Proaño

Somehow, this mades the Montreal Screwjob even more insulting…

I had this game for the SNES. It was a shitload of fun.

Actually, I hope that WWE All Stars keeps the same goofy and over the top vibe.

  • http://bwmedia.wordpress.com/ ShadowWing Tronix

I was disappointed in the game because it was a fighter rather than a wrestling game. (When I could finally get the slagging thing to run after tweaking all the settings OUTSIDE of the game like which sound card in their list was closest to the one I had.) I enjoy a good fighting game, don't get me wrong. But when I play a WWF…sorry, WWE game, I expect to play a wrestling game, not a fighting game where you pin your opponent.

But like I said, the biggest fight was me versus the computer settings just to play the darn thing. Keyboard does not work well for this type of game, either, but it wouldn't work with the controller I had. Not that it matters since there's no way to convince Vista to play it, and I doubt 7 will be any more willing to work a DOS game.

  • awaytohit

is it just me or some of the combo in this game look exactly like the ones in Killer Instinct

  • anonns

i love calling old help lines…when u find out they are now Gay Sex Lines its epic

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Vik-Nik/864340583 Vik Nik

is there any way to fix the audio? its almost unwatchable because spoony is way louder than everything else

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Nic-Mapes/100000500981605 Nic Mapes

What? I didn't notice that. They are meant to be louder than the video they are commenting on, but if you mean like WAYYY louder, than I have no idea what you mean.

  • http://twitter.com/Jake_Orton josh adams

Hell's Gate is even better than that.

  • http://twitter.com/Jake_Orton josh adams

Dude? Yokozuna died a number of years ago.

  • http://twitter.com/Jake_Orton josh adams

The Owen Heart joke wasn't funny.

  • http://twitter.com/DaedalusPunch Allen Arroyo

I played the shit outta this when I was a kid, good times

  • http://twitter.com/DaedalusPunch Allen Arroyo

Man I loved this game as i kid, it was so wacky though.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_OL4HV6YM7UVFZGY6YK3EFHSC5M Tony A

it sounds like the undertaker has the guy by his balls 8:00

  • AlphaLackey

Man, that video brought back memories. I have it in my head that when Bret's pointing at the source code, he sternly proclaims “you're dereferencing a null pointer!” before Nerd A slaps Nerd B in the back of the head.. can anyone back me up here?

  • http://www.facebook.com/totem91 Petros Pountidis

Disturbing is the fact that I remember most of this sh*t!

  • http://twitter.com/Deimos1984ad Zak Mahmud

Man…makes me wish that the real WWE would have Undertaker shoot souls from his hands.

  • http://www.facebook.com/orinbishop Orin Bishop

The clown looks kinda like Beetlejuice.
And why was Gomez Adams breathing helium?

  • http://twitter.com/thereals0beit Andrew YouDontKnow

paul bearer was the best part of this video. mad skills.

  • LordEnigma

Noah, greatest head shot… EVER! I am not even goofying around. The freaking awesomeness of that shot with the leather coat, wow, that's just epic. Seriously, you may need to put that on a t-shirt.

  • MetalNick

8-Bit Mickey is seriously unfunny but Noah is very funny. Without Noah this would be unwatchable – you can barely even hear Mickey when he talks.

  • 6hokage

What the fuck this Mickey guy even forgot in here? He's the most pathetic commentor I've ever heard.

  • MetalNick

I thought the Owen joke was hilarious.

  • http://www.facebook.com/Coldberg Aleksandras Ševčenko

    I LOOOOVE THIS GAME !!!
seriously it was the most fun fighting game i ever played

  • godzillaexpert

    That's comedy gold!

  • godzillaexpert

Well in the sequel there are fatalities

  • godzillaexpert

Spoony please review WWF in Your House

    The Warrior Commands it!!

    Man this Mickey guy sucks.

  • That_guy_from_Faxanadu

This Wrestle Mania Arcade VHS is ridicolously fun to watch! I can´t wait to see the upcoming episodes. Good job on the commentary.

  • Cadlington

Sweet zombie -Jesus-, man. You can just tell how enthused 8-Bit Mickey is to be watching this video.

Spoony, I'm just your simple southern Commenter, unacquainted with the politics that go on behind the camera of Channel Awesome and TGWTG, so I'll just ask: Did you draw the short straw? Is that what led to this horrible partnership?

Seriously, man. Rip that charisma-hemorrhaging fail whale from your arm and get him back to where he belongs; kissing Handsome Tom's ass and making no impact whatsoever.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Zach-Sommer/100000706036353 Zach Sommer

WWF No Mercy was an excellent game.

I hated how all my save files were periodically erased though

I lost my ultimate Andre the Giant/ Satan wrestler who wore purple and choked fools out.

    Better days, better days

  • desertpunk23

You hit start while the save was loading didn't you? Don't worry that old glitch got me more than once lol.

  • amishman

you just reminded me did you know that there is a WWF board game FMV title thats right a board game based on the WWF complete with a VHS.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Kelly-Bevan/100000460112080 Kelly Bevan

Jesus man, quit being a troll. Mickey's a nice guy; he's just not used to this style of riffing.

  • tig14

there was also a dvd board game a few years back

  • http://twitter.com/MattMk2 Matthew S

Yay 8-Bit Mickey! And Spoony, together! ZOMG!!! I love you guys!!

I remember this game. My cousin and I used to play the PS1 version. Good times.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Oliver-Meyer/1288596186 Oliver Meyer

I remember playing this on the PC at a friend's house. Decent 2-player game, and a definite improvement over the SNES games where all you had to do was mash the b-button (I think…) to prevent your opponent from doing anything.

Also, it just occurred to me how many of the guys we saw in the video are not even alive anymore. Not a happy thought.

  • iressivor

That was my one complaint about No Mercy, how it would just randomly erase all of my data. It's the only thing that keeps me from buying it again.

  • MissAshley

    <3 Paul Bearer.

Spoony, you completely out-shined Mickey. Dial-back your star power a bit to give him a chance. :P

  • http://www.facebook.com/Treima Jimi Alexander

WWF roster circa 1995 = TNA roster circa 2010!

  • http://twitter.com/Neuroticfanboy Steveman

Sharpshooter, really? I thought it was the Crippler Crossface.

  • Zing

It would be awesome to see a retro wrestling games review mini-series Spoony!

  • KidMagnum

Good commentary as always Spoony. 8 bit was lame though, keep him out of your vids. You're much better on your own. Not that he did anything wrong, he's just lame…nothing against him lol.

    • http://www.facebook.com/anthony.harper2 Anthony Harper

Seriously people need to stop bashing the guys Spoony brings in. These guys take time away from their own lives and their own endeavors to have some fun and provide you with free entertainment. Let me reiterate Free Entertainment constructive criticism is one thing but don’t just bring people down please.

  • http://www.facebook.com/sevthebeast Sev Hajinian

theres something about the word “machizmo”…

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_XUOTIB7R4NJJTXDIQWZ6MGMHXQ Josh

I actually have the wwf raw(genesis/snes game) vhs strategy tape somewhere, if i can find it i would love to send it to you to review sometime in the future.

  • Cadlington

Then he should either practice off camera or not do it at all. Watching him bring down a Spoony Video with his wooden tone and mumbly voice is fucking terrible.

Also: BAWWWWW YOU INSULTED SOMEONE YOU ARE A TROLL. Shut the fuck up, you dense white knight.

  • bezzi

    Come on…wrestlers don't wear ties :D

  • Nydcat

    Yokozuna is actually polynesian, right?

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_YYILEGW5DWVWIPYZQT34UFYFOE Trevor D

Hey don't FALL for Owen Hart's clumsiness

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Oliver-Meyer/1288596186 Oliver Meyer

Yes, he was originally from Samoa.

  • MissAshley

This isn't “a Spoony Video.” It is a Game Heroes one.

However, that the difference isn't noticeable indeed reinforces Mickey's lack of impact.

  • Cadlington

Honestly, it could be anyone's video, Spoony, Game Heroes, AVGN, and that terrible delivery -still- wouldn't be acceptable.

Except maybe the Distressed Watcher, I wouldn't be too jazzed about spending -any- time around that guy.

  • http://twitter.com/Mecahawk Tyler Burnette

    ahhhh good ole' Todd Pettingzoo

  • http://twitter.com/Mecahawk Tyler Burnette

Why would you select Lex Luger?
    I DON'T KNOW!! GAH!

  • TCBLB

I had to rewatch this for a second time after the second half was put up. Todd Pettingil says that these tips will work in all the games. Then ignore Yoko and Bam Bam's tips since the SNES axed those characters. Ripoff.

  • http://www.facebook.com/emran.ismail Emran Qadir Ismail

I love this game back in the day. I also thought the first couple of smack down games with the Rock on the cover were awesome. I also like WWF “wrestlemaina 2000″ for the N64.

I still play WWF “wrestlemaina 2000 at my cousin's house.

  • Ragehead91

I second that. Sponny has to do WCW Nitro, WCW Thunder or WCW Nitro N64 Version. It doesn't matter because they're the same game really.

  • Ragehead91

Yes. I had it for the SNES and playing it with buddies was tons of fun.

And I don't think you can compare games like RAW, Royal Rumble or Super WrestleMania with WrestleMania arcarde. The former tried to be proto-wrestling-simulators (well, as far as you could do that with the SNES) while the later is a Mortal Kombat like fighting game.

And actually, from those 8 wrestler “only” Yokozuna and Bam Bam are dead. Although Scott Hall is one of those guys that I expect to just drop dead some day.

  • DoomsdayLee

I will say this: This is the exact kind of wrestling/ fighting game I've always wanted. The extreme over the top cartoon, yet realistic looking fighting game, Ala Def Jam: Fight for New York.

    But not with the WWF

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Jacob-W-Rampey/1003608675 Jacob W. Rampey

this is the nba jam of wrestling.

I have the snes port of this and it’s fun in two player mode, very fast non sense action it’s awesome and it take like 2 minutes to master. my favorite move is the shawn michael one cause it look like he raped the opponent with his special move or make them eat his crotch.

I had this game on SNES and I actually OWNED this VHS. Todd Pettengill used to host a WWF wrap up show on Saturday mornings. This game was actually pretty cool, but doesn’t hold a candle to WWF WrestleFest
