    Fuck Joe’s ugly face

  • http://twitter.com/Oldspoon Eivind Laxaa

    Haha! Poor Angry Joe. :P

  • Anonymous

So Lord Kat destroyed your D&D session. Good!

  • Anonymous

The ability to get the kill=many hours working to build the skills…Seeing THAT look on the devil’s face=Priceless…

  • http://www.google.com/profiles/114319313498601954245 Kaltzor

The usual, two people fight and a random ranged attack comes and critically hits to one hit the other one.

  • Anonymous

    WE WERE FIGHTING LIKE MEN!!!……….priceless.

“We were locked in honourable combat!”
    Joe is fantabulous.

    NINJA’ED!

  • Anonymous

Fucking classic. I love the animation it just brings another whole level of humor to it.

  • http://twitter.com/thisgamesux THiSGaMeSuX

    LIKE MEN!

  • Bandyman

    hehe, awsome!!

  • Anonymous

    Those damn kill-poaching rangers!

    lol : )

  • Anonymous

Is there any interest in Channel Awesome doing something similar the PVP-Penny Arcade podcasts? I love hearing how other people run their games.

  • http://www.facebook.com/Terrorblades Erik Olsson

Hahahaha!^^ I sooo wanna see all this stuff live!

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Paul-Alexander/1443670059 Paul Alexander

    So, Jason is basically Neebs.

    Well, shit.

  • Anonymous

Lol :D I saw this while you guys were playing :D Epic

  • Anonymous

Is this a Ranger thing? Because when my fiancee played an Elven Ranger in our games, she was constantly stealing the killshot from me (Fighter) and the Sorcerer after we’d whittled down enemies’ HP. “Twin Strike” thwp-thwp! “Dead.”

  • Anonymous

When Angry Joe freaks out, it’s so damn entertaining. This is obviously why Angry Joe has Angry in his name.

Seriously though, don’t go stealing other people’s kills, you kill-stealing bitches.

  • Poipoi

I never tire of watching this. It reminds me of my days when I was in a roleplaying group.

  • Anonymous

I’d heard you guys going on about this in some of the videos on LordKats site, didn’t realise you’d actually recorded it, hilarious!

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Jay-Delaney/655055583 Jay Delaney

Dunno why, but I was kind of expecting something related to the Maze’s and Monster’s review the spoony one did in this video, but still. This was very entertaining to watch.

  • Anonymous

This is usually how my D&D sessions go. Someone killsteals, and the other player flips out. :D

  • http://boredwithporn.tumblr.com/ BoredWithPorn

God, stuff like this makes me wish I knew how to play D&D

  • Anonymous

Ehhh. D&D never really interested me all that much. It might have something to do with the fact that I can’t focus on something that isn’t flashing every few seconds.

  • Anonymous

oh man this happens in my pathfinder game all the time, only it’s a kill stealing Druid with Call Lightning. My characters seriously wonder why they don’t just sit back and let the druid kill everything sometimes. Just today my cleric was going to get into a proper melee fight with a giant scorpion and then ZAP make 4 reflex saves, giant scorpion is a giant smoking crater… *sigh* I’m sure I got those weapon focus feats for a reason…

  • http://twitter.com/Mecahawk Tyler Burnette

This reminds me. Whatever happened to Deadliest Fantasy Character? Get the guy who did this animation in the start to do that.

  • Anonymous

You don’t need to read that 100+ page Player’s Handbook to learn to play. Most of that is reference and unnecessary details. Learning to play is actually really easy and doesn’t require memorizing much of anything. I pretty much learned all I needed to just listening to part of the first Penny Arcade D&D podcast, since Gabe was just learning to play then.

Just roll a character, learn how many times each of your abilities can be used, and have an imagination.

  • TimADugan

I loved watching this live. My god, my sides were hurting when it happened.

This video is rather awesome too. :)

  • Anonymous

Effin hillarious. Wish I could play with ya.

  • Anonymous

The one where they were playing 4th ed?
I suppose that’s easier to get a hang of than 3.5, but even reading the Player’s Handbook is a good idea, if nothing else, you’ll know what you can do with the skills at your disposal and how combat works. It’s better to start playing with at least some knowledge of the game, I wouldn’t call D&D intuitive. But you are right, there is loads of non-essential stuff, describing races, classes, spells and so on.

  • http://warpedtree.blogspot.com/ CornBRED-X

Love watching your D&D sessions, Spoony, you make great campaigns. Its a shame this is the only (I think) that wasnt recorded. There some funny moments in that one. Joe did not have a good night that night haha

  • Anonymous

“Stop touching his dead body that shit is mine!” lol Joe

  • http://www.facebook.com/xfirefly Tori Maier

    So frickin’ hilarious!
LordKaT was playing a Ranger? That’s my favorite class woo!

  • http://www.facebook.com/jak.jameskern Jak Kern

is there somewhere we can hear the whole session

  • Anonymous

You go ninja, Joe. Sorry but, this is funny as hell. Note to self, when playing DnD KILL FAST!

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Erik-Dujsik/100000196085526 Erik Dujsik

From what I recall Spoony and the gang play D&D on Skype or some group chat thing that people can watch or something, correct me if I’m wrong. Am I right and if so could I get a link? This looks entertaining as hell.

  • http://www.justin.tv/imagoth2004 imagoth2004

LOL I can’t stop laughing. This makes me miss D&D so much.

  • Anonymous

Just Awesome Joe! I bet ya lost personal honor in that duel with the sneaky ranger interfering. Man, if you guys have a site online to listen in or watch your D&D sessions, please repost it; that would be pure entertainment. Laterz!

Damn that was hilarious and I don’t even play D&D.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Joel-Castonguay/100000976537427 Joël Castonguay

It’s doesn’t work like that in D&D dude. It’s more like all those JRPG. The exp. is distributed equally and each monster have a attack round. I also watch that sessions and he pretty much save Joe’s ass. Funny tho that Joe think of the fight like that when it boiled down to a Rockem Sockem robot brawl.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Joel-Castonguay/100000976537427 Joël Castonguay

    My reply didn’t work?!?!

Yeah, if you go to Lordkat website, he broadcast and record their D&D session and if you miss them, he broke it down into 2h long video. So you can catch up. Unfortunately, they didn’t record the first but the last 3 was truly epic and fun.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Joel-Castonguay/100000976537427 Joël Castonguay

Wait… wait. Didn’t the song that play in the background was Power RANGERS…
    Ranger.
    Ranger.
    RANGER!!!!

I think i spotted a little incoherence. If Joe did that animation, could that be a Freudian Slip?

  • Anonymous

Lord Kat, I hereby deduct two internets from you for being a kill-stealing, man-whore.

    FIGHT LIKE MEN!

Nice animation. Altrought a fighter with a bow is beter than a ranger.

    this sounds like me when i play Aliens Vs Predator on my xbox. i go and tackle an alien with hand to hand combat and one of my teammates makes it go boom and i get acid all over me. i think they do it on purpose just to listen to a girl have a rage attack. i feel your pain Joe ^^;

  • http://twitter.com/starwolf333 Cody Ward

Holy shit. I am literally in tears over that. So freaking funny. Augh, what I would do to play DnD with you guys. Hell, as incriminating as this is to my nerd cred, I’ve never actually played DnD, thanks to college schedules ruining the only campaigns I was able to find out about.

  • Diggerjohn111

That was awesomeness in cartoon form! I was listening in to the D&D game that night, and that was pretty close to how I pictured it. LOL!

This was just as funny now as it was live. The guys just couldn’t stop laughing.

And it only took a few minutes for someone to whip up a Joe sketch of him screaming his famous quote in rage. :D

lol, I was there too that night when it happened. Made more funny by the fact that LordKat wasn’t hitting anything before this!

I believe they were making fun of Joe even before this because he ended up causing them to get their stuff stolen because Joe talked them into trusting someone they shouldn’t have (I wasn’t listening when that happened – I only remember them teasing him about it).

    Poor Joe. :P

  • Anonymous

Kill stealing bastard. I love it!

And Spoony nonchalantly says, “your arrow strikes him in the heart and in the head.” And then he adds a discripton of how he dies. Funniest shit ever.

Well that’s a stretch… Angry Joe is Angry. “STOP TOUCHING HIS DEAD BODY, THAT SHIT IS MINE!!!”

Best two and a half minutes ever. “We were fighting like men!”

    I love it…

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000678976561 Katherine Wolf

I do believe this deserves several more replays.

  • http://dragonacesg7.livejournal.com/profile Dragons_Dusk

    *snickers a lot, again*
we watched this before game on Friday (my D&D group)… somehow it made the first viewing funnier (Joe had it up on his site too)

so Lord Kat’s first big hits of the night steal a kill…

must have had his luck since I kept getting bar be qued from a trap that night… nothing like rolling nothing but 2s on your disable device… but then getting a 20 on an intimidate check when being a frickin’ half-elf XD

  • Anonymous

The only thing I have from a dnd session like this, was one of my friends whose character was supposed to be my characters, “body guard.” He attempted to shoot an Earth troll with his bow, critically missed and wound up shooting me in the back of my head!
    Some body guard.
Fucking hilarious though, both are. I just love Joe’s reaction, granted when you hear alittle bit more of the session, it seemed that Joe was getting his ass kicked, and Lordkat was just trying to help.
But none the less, really fucking funny guys.

    And Scarlet, told you so.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Lucek-Chuck/100000576199993 Lucek Chuck

Everyone who plays has their stories. I remember a gnome bard I had. We had a skill challenge were we had to distract the populous and I go over to make a quick magic show with arcana. Roll a natural 1 but I beat the DC so the DM said I set my cloths on fire. It distracted the group and a critical miss. It was Sigren’s time. Then he spends the last fight flat on his back because the DM rules you can’t heal a stabilized being with a heal check. (totally unfair attack roll crits (32 damage) on me and dose 1D8+4 before I get a chance to move. At the start of my turn I’m dieing.

  • Anonymous

Do you guys record these D&D sessions? If so, where can I find them?

So, who was the guy that freaked out? Joe?

    I don’t get this D&D thing… : (

    • http://www.youtube.com/user/TheUltimateBastich TheUltimateBastich

Yes, it was Joe who freaked out. Joe and monster were exchanging blows each turn in close combat and they were both bloodied, which means they had their HP close to 0. Joe wanted to deliver final blow. It wouldn’t give him any bonus experience or something, but he wanted this fight to be epic and honorable (they were fighting like men!), but LordKat (Jason) on his turn completely annihilated monster Joe was fighting against with his bow and arrows, so Joe was robbed of his epic victory, that’s why he went berserk :D

Where can I find the video of the D&D game? I really want to watch it.

The audio was pretty good. So was the beginning of the video. There seems to be a major disconnect between the movie and the audio in the second half. Fading in and out of character and all that.
    Still, it was pretty funny.

  • Anonymous

That’s because you don’t play D&D entirely in character.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=629096586 Daoud Barbour

rofl, was that an actual game? Maybe I can get my Phase Worlds group to do games over TeamSpeak.

  • http://twitter.com/emiazla Emily Nicole

    Oh dear lord…this was amazing!

my favorite personal DnD story is that on our first campaign my group and I went into a huge cave infested with trolls and the like. In the first room, we encounter about a dozen or so trolls, three of which are behind the door.
So, being the clever rogue I am, I roar out, “I’m gonna slam the door on the them and knock them out!” So, the they (and a few of my group) roll reflex to get out of the way.

Our fighter has the worst luck with rolls. But hey! The plan worked, damnit! Our fighter actually was continuously getting knocked out by his own team (our ranger’s pet ran into him, forcing him to knock his head on the stone walls) but it made him pissed off enough to apparently kill 6 trolls, lol!

That first game is still the one we talk about the most. And This game sounds like it was amazing. Poor Joe. You were indeed fighting like MEN. :)

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Alexander-Hutcheson/100001172877407 Alexander Hutcheson

Just got my first dice set. I have to get more so others can play but when I get started I’m totally gonna be a kill-stealing ranger.

  • Anonymous

    “The Man-Scorpion is dead…killed by a kill stealing punk…”

fucking awesome. I love joe’s high octane slobbering madness. his freakouts are always classic. I can almost see his eyes crossed in rage, face twisted in a grimace of vein bursting fury “WE WERE FIGHTING LIKE MEN!!!!”

  • saint23thomas

Joe, D&D isn’t like FF8. You don’t get bonus EXP for being the lucky bastard that delivers the killing blow.

This happened in the group i GM for, though the Swedish variant of DnD, abit more rules but fluent gameplay and still no need to check up on everything ( played for 12 years now, so it kinda stuck in my brain by now. Though, this players two arrows, both shots fumbled into the tanks back, knocking him out cold ( two arrows piercing through his loungs ) Yep, he died hard that night and wasnt very happy with it, but we all had a good laugh out from it.
