It really reminded me of Edgar Wright’s Dead Right, the student movie he made that’s on the Hot Fuzz DVD, especially in its sense of humour (the Faculty line was brilliant). Just excellent- I laughed out loud more than once, and the ending killed me too :D

I’m looking forward to the sequel, The Floor, now. A great video from the creators. And I have to say, Norway is very pretty as well. Very scenic. Like New Zealand is for Middle Earth, Norway is for scenic grass.

One man’s trash is another man’s treasure, as they say. Personally, I thought this was very well done. I especially liked the cat jump scare, I’m so sick of those that the ‘wah wah waaaah’ music drew a big laugh from me. Good sense of humour as well.

  For me it was the appearance of the grass monster itself that cracked me up. Just the angry face on the big pile of grass… I dunno. Something about it is funny. And of course the twist at the end that the battle isn’t over.
  
  I think it’s just well paced. The humour’s actually funny, and the laugh bits are positioned well. Can’t ask for any more than that out of an amateur video in my opinion. I got more laughs out of this than the average Hollywood rom-com.

I gotta say, with that gravelly voice the lead sounds like he should be the lead singer of a death metal band. Seriously, gain some muscle mass and definition and I could see this guy doing independent action/comedies.

The movie itself was fun. I like all the tropes and humor beats used, but the best part–and this is key–was that they were used well.

Seeing this just reminded me of something my evil DM made against us a few years back. A field of grass with a sign that read “Do Not Step On Grass.”

But the object needed to complete to quest was in the center of the field.

One character set foot on the grass, and was slain by several Level 5 Fighter Blades of Grass.

Every blade of grass was a level 5 fighter, all taking a ready action, waiting for someone to step on the grass.

I gotta admit, I didn’t expect our to win, and it didn’t, so I’m not REALLY disappointed. When I told my friend (who was in the video) that one point in every video made you laugh, he immediately said “It was probably my: ‘Grrr!’” And that just made no sense, sorry. :P

That was epic. Absolutely epic. I loved how it was set like some sort of postapoclypitic world, only with grass…and the floor as an ending was just icing.
