No, it’s not your imagination. Through the two days of filming, he kept spewing lines from Strongbad. He was kinda trying for a “viking” accent.

Btw, not to nitpick, Noah, but it’s Professor Oak. Ash was the trainer you play as in the games. (God, I feel like such a nerd, now.)

Sorry, y’know, you’re right. I always just imagined him as Ash, even though he isn’t. Ash is the character from the TV series, who embarks on the same quest as Red, but gets to the top through different means.

Seriously man, so far as I’m concerned this was the best of em. Distinct characters, well done parody, even the sound design was impressive ( just the fact you could consistently hear people with no ambience – people don’t think about that, but you did it quite well) Excellent work!

I really liked the use of music and sound effects in this one. It worked really well, I think. The ‘Grow’ attack got a good laugh out of me. The various game (video and board/dice) references also did really well. I think this should have probably ranked higher in the honorable mentions, or been in the top three.

This one really seemed like a real D&D session, to me. There may not have been as many outright laughs from this one than some of the others, but overall I really enjoyed it. Overall, I don’t think there were enough pylons.

A-Team got a laugh as well. XD I love the idea that everyone in the past lived their lives like a video game. Alas, my kingdom for a time machine!

I think this is one of my favorites over all so far. The music was fab and the “grow” attack killed me. I’m not exactly sure what it is that makes it so high ranking for me other than the fact it was highly entertaining. Besides, what triumphs over the A-Team theme? NOTHING, that’s what.

D&D, pokemon, final fantasy, Ultima, and the A-team.

A traditional parody style that hit all the right beats. And is there any spell or armor that can guard against “grow”? What is that, just an instant kill attack? It’s a good thing they had a save state. I suppose the grass is just one of those enemies that you just have to level-grind in order to beat.

I’m glad someone got the save-state joke. We came up with that last minute as just a quirky line to end the movie on. That and when I DESTROY the 4th Wall with a freeze frame. lol

Hehe, it was a perfect end.

It also elicited an ironic facepalm from me because about five minutes earlier I was playing persona 3 where I was ten seconds away from a save point when I died.

… I lost about 25 minutes of game time…

There is now a console-shaped imprint in my bedroom wall. My screams may also have woken up people in a different time zone.

The FF10 turn-based effects almost caused me to fall out of my seat from laughing too hard.

This was very well made, I must say. Too bad this didn’t make it to the top 3.

I suggest watching his ultima reviews. The grass being an enemy goes back to a contest he started, inspired by one of the enemies that can attack you is the grass. The other weird enemy is the floor. I kid you not.

This one is my favorite, it is chopped full of so many cheese RPG cliche’s I couldn’t them as they flew by at a tremendous rate. The steel chariot gag had me rolling too, especially combined with the A-Team music.
