  Accurate observation. It’s also interesting to note that a lot of the criticisms ladled out against those gaining more popularity tend to grow less legible and increasingly immature in direct proportion to said gain.
  
  I mean, really look at the above complaint. Ellipses all over the place, abbreviated words, no punctuation or grammar, and an illogical complaint that can’t decide what its point is. Since when did youtube-type complaints become a stable of this site’s fanbase? (I’ve seen more of them in the past two months than I did in the six months prior!)
  
  I really really hope this isn’t a bad omen. Just like in real life, ominous clouds on the horizon can forecast the probability of a coming storm, I’m hoping that the increase in rabbling complaints isn’t a sign of some major upheaval yet to come.

My favourite part of Don’t Buy This was the absolutely mad instructions on how to control the car in Race Ace, which I remember to this day.

      My parents purchased an Atari ST and I swapped it for a BBC Micro. They were very angry until they realised that I learned far more about computers & programming on the BBC than I ever did on the ST.
      As for affording games: my parents purchased the computer (ST) – I had to stump up the cash for the games myself :)

  Cascade Cassette 50! Now there was a pile of steaming crap! I remember seeing it listed on a mail order site in Your Sinclair and thinking “Whoa! 50 games for a few quid! Bargain!”
  
  Naturally, my delight soon turned into bitterness 28 days later when the cassette arrived in the post. “Only one cassette?” I thought. “Surely some mistake?”
  
  No mistake. It seemed that these fifty “amazing” games were little more than half-arsed BASIC programs written for the ZX81 (and the odd one using the colour palette of the Spectrum 48k), with none of them having the ability to autorun. Having to type “run” to get these crappy games to start was the final straw.
  
  I was nine years old then. I had played quality titles like Midnight Resistance and Rainbow Islands on my +2. I should’ve known better. *sob*
  
  Still, at least it was only a few quid, and not a few HUNDRED quid like Action 52.

Something I’ve always wondered, what does the title of this video series even mean? Where I’m from, the term “wank” (or is a slang term for masturbation, but I somehow doubt that’s the use being applied here (at least I hope it’s not). ;p

Regarding the thought of the day, getting rejected would totally be worse, at least as part of “Don’t Buy This” the creators probably got some form of compensation and feedback for their effort. Better to get paid and be credited with your first game (or games in the case of Fido 1&2) being infamously bad than to get a form letter.

Imagine opening up the manual for “Too Human” and reading, “Press start to begin this tripe/skip our shitty cutscenes”.

or “50 Cent: Blood on The Sand”: “Hold down R2 to make this juiced up, jibbering blight on the history of Rap shoot pixelated blobs that are supposed to be bullets at badly animated offensive stereotypes”.

or “Dante’s Inferno”: “Press X to totally rip off Devil May Cry and/or God of War while crapping on the legacy of one of the greatest poets Italy (and indeed the western world has ever known). Wow and you thought our ad campaigns/attention grabbing stunts for this piece of sludge were offensive and obnoxious.”

Would make me feel better, at least.

You’re welcome to your opinion, but keep in mind that people have different tastes so you are bound to see videos that you think “meh” or “rubbish” – like everything in life. Personally, I’ve got used to Larry’s videos (I initially didn’t gel with them) and do find them entertaining now.
Also, posting these videos intruduces a little bit of variety and gives spoony a break so that he doesn’t kill himself trying to please us.

I mean, I do hope that my videos help Noah out in return by making the site some money and giving him a break from working 24/7 But that’s the main reason why they’re on here.
