      Cause I like the reviews when they don’t go off course into half the review being some bullshit no one will ever care about. Why can’t someone like Spoony and hate Dr Insano? Dr Insano is the personification of everything that’s wrong with TGWTG and Spoony. It might have been funny as a one off joke, but instead it’s being beaten like a dead horse. And of course the “success” of Dr Insano has lead to more and more stupid costumes instead of just getting to the god dam review already.

      #1 I said nothing about the “Artistic Talent” of Lightbringer. It’s cringe worthy for a number of reasons, the least of it being the artwork.
      
      #2 Your comics since Lightbringer have basically been nothing but existing heroes which you changed slightly. Lightbringer was nothing but a Maryjane Lewis Lovhaug.
      
      #3 No, people can critique without producing a better quality version. But your comics are so awful, from the dialogue that doesn’t sound like anything a human would say, to your let’s call it “interesting” philosophical view on life bleeding in to the comics, it’s bad. At least if you had made a mediocre, forgettable comic it wouldn’t be as bad. But this is like being a movie reviewer like Red Letter Media, and then doing your own film and leaving the lens cap on the whole time and deciding to release it all anyway.

      #1 I did mention my crappy writing and art at the start of Lightbringer. These days I’m not so preachy and I try not to be in it because I now recognize how bad an idea it was.
      
      #2 The only comic “since” Lightbringer has been Revolution of the Mask, which only has two issues out so far and you’ve barely even seen any of the characters aside from a few scenes.
      
      #3 *Shrugs* If you didn’t like the comics I’ve produced and don’t think they’re any good, fine, whatever. It doesn’t make my critiques of professionally-produced comics any less valid, though. As bad as my own work can get, I’ve never produced Bimbos in Time, Amazons attack, Cry for Justice, Ultimatum, or anything that should have had editors stomp it out before it ever saw the light of day.
      
      #4 Is this about my reviews of Silver Age or Golden Age material? Because even when I’ve done that, they actually end up faring better than modern comics – hell, I was praising the first appearances of Superman, Batman, and Spider-Man despite being incredibly dated. When I realized that’s not what we were doing, it was half a second too late and I had stepped past where the others had gone, but I quickly swerved back to follow the others.

many reviews on tgwtg base on cheesy acting in front of a camera and silly comstumes too. i think that’s what most people like about NC. if you don’t expect the holy grail of cinematic achievments this will be mindless fun. i dont know what some people expect. they’re not professional actors and they put together a feature film within a astonishing short period of time. it’s fan service. go to the cinema if you wanna see something else.

  I think it’s more akin to a manchild circle-jerk than “cheesy fun”….I mean, I’m sure they put loads of effort into making this, AND Kickassia, and that they had loads of fun making both–but it doesn’t mean that it’s fit to broadcast.
  
  A LOT of hard work went into ZARDOZ, too, ya know. And you can’t defend Kickassia (or Zardoz) without getting into Harrison Bergeron territory, I’m sorry. Or saying it’s “fanservice”….I guess I’m old fashioned, but in my day “fanservice” meant tits and ass. I expect neither here.
  
  I have no desire to watch a particularly high-profile LARP–which is what Kickassia was, and what this….thing almost certainly will be.

NC is Link, Benzaie is Conan, Chick is Arwen, Obscurus is Snow White, 8-bit is Robin Hood, Phelous is ??, the Sage is Cowardly Lion, Tom is basic LARP (but they are probably going to say Aragorn), Linkara is a generic knight, Angry Joe is a pirate (why?), Snob is Indy, Paw is (guessing) Ming the Merciless, Marzgurl is an Amazon, Film Brain and Luke are both wizards though i don’t see the lightning so i’m guessing not Harry himself, Spoony as Gandalf, Todd as Zorro (nice choice to keep that shadowy persona going), Jew is Jareth (i thank him for skipping the skin tight shinny pants).

That was an excellent trailer. One of the best I ever seen for ANYTHING. What an excellent way to introduce the cast of characters we know and love. I’m surprised at how well the ending font worked, considering that it was just Times New Roman and not some kind of Ultima-style font.

This trailer has done more than inform me that ‘Suburban Knights’ exists. It makes me want to see it. Really, this is on par with the trailer for ‘Citizen Kane’, which was practically like a short movie.

  Aside from the windy day, I don’t think the group was trying to move in a single file line. What kind of ragtag band of adventurers travel in a military line shouting ‘HUP, two, three, four’. I don’t really remember anything like that in The Lord of the Rings.

I hated Kickassia just as much as everyone. And I will bitch and moan to anyone about story arcs that happen IN THE MIDDLE OF A FUCKING REVIEW!

But this has a chance of working. Hopefully the TGWTG reviewers have learned from the mistakes of Kickassia, and will make something as awesome as the trailer implies. Their ability to quickly introduce us to a group of familiar faces in the roles they will play shows an understanding of their audience, and an ability to communicate quickly and organically to said audience.

They know who we are, and seem to have the improved technical ability to give us what we want. All they have to do is be careful in their efforts, and have a clear goal in sight.

Actually, I didn’t really like Kickassia. It had a meandering, confused plot that didn’t have a clear beginning goal in mind. Preparing an actual script in advance would have helped, instead of telling the story ‘Lost’ style, trying to shoehorn in conflict wherever it can.

  the plot seemed pretty simple to me: NC wanted to take over a tiny piece of land. There were some twists and lots of silliness but the dialogue worked and everyone did a good job IMO. The production isn’t going to be at Hollywood levels, but everything else worked. It was one of the most enjoyable pieces of entertainment last year even when you throw in the big wig productions. It also introduced me to Brad Jones, who is now one of my favorite guys.
  
  That’s just my opinion and you have yours. I don’t like Keven James or Tyler Perry movies but apparently some people do and thats fine.
