Hope I’m lucky enough to land a interview with you some day, for my podcast PowerPlay at http://www.baldmove.com!
A giant ratchet would be kinda distracting…
Very cool you did this interview for them, Spoony.
And I agree, doing a reboot is a risky thing. In fact, I wish they weren’t doing it. Not (just) because so much of the history will be retconned (I know the stories are still there, but the continuity isn’t), but because in ten years, they’ll have built up enough new continuity to be in the same position the Ultimate Universe is in. And they’ll start thinking about another reboot of some type.
I’m also pissed I won’t be able to collect Action 1000. But I assume that when they get close to the 1000 mark for Action and Batman, they’ll suddenly renumber it back like they did for Spidey 500, Wonder Woman 600, and so many others.
What I wish DC would have done is just end all the current storylines at the same point, and dumped all the creative teams for the books that weren’t selling. Then start all new storylines in a way accessible to new readers. That would have been the creative thing to do, not the lazy reboot solution.
Either way, there’s no need to renumber. Just give all the books, new and old, a big stamp that says something like “The new DC Universe starts here!” Hell, put out a special 100 page one-shot at a reduced price numbered #1 that spends a couple of pages introducing each book (especially useful if doing the reboot).
Anyway, enough ranting. Enjoying the E3 vids so far. Can’t wait to see what else you got around to doing.
Can I say Shit? Well you already said Fucking so a bit late to ask :P
The interviewer didn’t seem all that nervous. I liked Spoonys take on the DC comics reboot. I enjoyed it.
Spoony should do a Dc comic reboot rant video!
did you cover the NGP or psp veta?
“Can I say that?” after saying fuck :P oh spoony.
“I was hating the prequels before it was cool” oh spoony.
Ha! He called you Nora.
