Oreo sometimes gets a little manic.

I feel like I should add a Tasmanian Devil sound effect here, but I couldn’t find one long enough.

(And yes, I’m working on reviews. This is what I have to deal with in the background!)

That must get so annoying quick. But damn if I didn’t giggle like a little kid while watching her run around. :D
    But damn! She’s so cute~ > u<
    /rolls on floor

May I suggest hiding all your cords and such quick (like behind heavy stuff or really high up)? Also get the spray that tastes bad to pets for everything that you don't want her to chew on. That'll drive you up a wall after awhile. And I head that dogs like her need time to play or they go crazy, so have some fun with Oreo (she does look like one, I gotta say Spoony…or Oreo ice cream)! :)

Personally, I think the Benny Hill theme song would be more appropriate as she seems to think she is a one dog chase scene. You also might want to consider policing some of those power/av cables and those stacks of DVD’s before there is an incident…. Good Doggy.

But it’s amazing the affect a happy dog has on the human psyche isn’t it? So long as they aren’t chewing up our belongings or leaving hot land mines on the rug. I wish I could be so content with a ball on a rope.

What kind of review was that, Spoony? The pacing was horrible, the plot made no sense, and the jokes were abysmal. I know Film Brain was bringing your Mojo down, but seriously, WTF was this?

All joking aside, Oreo is a great name, and I hope she brings plenty of joy and happiness into your life. Whenever you’re bummed, it makes us all a little sadder inside. Just be sure to watch out for ‘presents’ in your shoes.

Damnit now he’s reviewing the rat instead of other stuff. I knew this would happen next. Why don’t people just get a cat? I wouldn’t complain if it was a hot chick brainwashing you and wasting your time, but a dog? Come on man you need something else for entertainment here. I suggest Dead Space 2. Hope the training will help make that dog quiet for your videos, Spoony man. It will be very cool to occasionally see that dog enter the frame during your Vlogs, but your major reviews will take longer if that dog is spazing out. I have a 15 year old beagle who still thinks she’s a puppy, she’s deaf now Lol, but she still nags at me with her (what I always thought) Irish brogue of a howl if I don’t do what she wants me to do. • http://twitter.com/twistedmoogle twistedmoogle

Thats what i like about my dog. She will sleep all day and do nothing at all… UNLESS you want her to! If you’re willing to play/run/go outside with her she will keep going for hours. So it’s very dependent on what YOU are willing to do with her.

      • Anonymous

Yeah I’m not saying that laziness is a bad thing. I’m just saying that there come those days where you have to miss when your dog would spazz out like this at random times.

Make sure to take Her out for walks rather than simply playing with her, throwing toys and balls is great every so often but it only hypes them up which isn’t the best thing for a young pup.

If you don’t feel like taking for a massive walk, just let her run free in a spare park/field when you have proper control of cause.

    Dogs are awesome.

    • http://twitter.com/JJJMMM1 JM

If one of your friends has a young dog also, have them play together somewhere where they can run free. The dogs love it and they get a lot of excercise.

Throwing balls and playing with her is also good for the dog, I don’t think it just hypes them up.

      • Anonymous

but they do need to learn to relax and chill out on long walks. it tires them in a good way as opposed to an “all play” way. otherwise they dog can get a little misbehaved and overly hyped ie to visitors etc.

        long walks – very important.

Dogs are so fucking stupid. You should have gotten c cat. If you’re not an asshole and won’t castrate your cat, he’s gonna be as active as any dog, only he actually has brains and character.

    • Anonymous

Without getting into a subjectively stupid debate about whether canines or felines are the superior pet – what are you basing this statement on? Almost every major study show dogs and cats to be of similar intelligence, and most show dogs to be slightly higher (particularly breeds like labradors). This is a puppy. Puppies have energy, just like toddlers. And toddlers also run around and do hyperactive, stupid things. Are cats smarter than people, too? It’s okay to prefer cats, but you are 100% dead wrong that “Dogs are so fucking stupid.”

    • Anonymous

Yeah but on the other hand cats are also selfish egomaniacs that’d claw your face off for a scrap of tuna whereas dogs are loyal companions. But that’s just my view on it. Also you i d don’t know about “should have gotten c cat”, doesn’t sound that intelligent to me :P

    • http://twitter.com/StacySG Stacy Galler

While I too am a cat person, Spoony did mention on Twitter that Miles is allergic to cats, so I’d say that’s a good reason not to get one.

  • Anonymous

This actually HURT me to watch first thing after waking up.  Here I am all groggy and blurry-eyed and with no energy at all, and then here’s this WHIRLWIND that can only be described as the punchline to some kind of “Black & White and Red All Over” joke, and I feel like Slowpoke Rodriguez watching Speedy Gonzales!

Oh, and speaking of which, Speedy sound effects would also have worked.  And because I’m such a classic Warner Brothers fanatic (and because my brain simply doesn’t work this early in the day), I’m going to re-watch the video while imagining those sound effects myself.  Arriba!

  • Anonymous

I knew when I saw your first video with your new dog that you were going to become one of those unbearable “dog mommies.” Won’t be long before your Facebook page will consist of 90 percent dog pictures; You’ll start referring to the animal as if it was a roommate; Two out of three videos posted here will involve things your dog does that are cute only to you. In general, you will be that new parent that everyone hates – going on endlessly about a child that most people couldn’t care less if it was dropped out the window of a moving bus. I am a dog person, too. Just don’t turn this into The Oreo Experiment. I’ve seen dogs run around and do dumb shit my entire life. Very amusing. Now no more.

    • Anonymous

It’s just a couple of videos, man. Don’t have a bloody panic attack…

      • Anonymous

This is how it begins with new pet owners. It’s fucking annoying. If I wanted to watch a dog run around, I’d watch my own. It’s not a panic attack to preemptively call out Noah in the same fashion that he might call out someone else. The tagline here is, “because bad movies and video games need to be hurt back.” Not, “because my new doggie is sooo adowable.” And before any half-witted moron makes the trite and impotent remark, “He provides you with free entertainment! He can do what he wants! If you don’t like it, no one is making you watch it!”, I have something else to say: I like dogs. But no one started coming here to get a window into Noah’s personal life. This isn’t reality TV, and I don’t want it to be. And Spoony now has internet fandom, cult status and a competitive income – all due to loyal fans exactly like me wasting my workdays on this site. So yeah, I will be critical. And yeah, it’s just a couple videos – just a couple too many.

        • Anonymous

“I feel like I should add a Tasmanian Devil sound effect here, but I couldn’t find one long enough.

(And yes, I’m working on reviews. This is what I have to deal with in the background!)”

Calm down.  It’s not a big deal.  Besides the fact that everyone in this country seems desperate to latch onto any little thing over which they can possibly complain… perhaps we shouldn’t have been taught that our opinions are so valuable.

          • Anonymous

Whether or not opinions have value is a fairly abstract (and disconnected) point to bring up. I agree that it’s not the end of the world – I just don’t want it to become a pattern, as it does with so many other dog owners (or new parents).

And I’m not feverishly hunched over my desk with rage boiling into my fingertips – I am calm. But I am latching onto this to complain over because it’s the last thing I want to see posted when I visit here. I am expressing my opinion because that is the nature of message boards. You expressed an opinion in reply because that is the nature of replies. Christ, this whole website is based on opinions. So I’ll attach some value to that. And I’ll also attach some value to my fervent hope that we see less Oreo and more scripted episodes.

And yeah, I read the caption. Just seems like filming the dog, then making that into a video to be posted is a waste of time. But, hey, I’m just one guy, and I do understand that.

          • dramaguitar

Also, this was probably Spoony’s way of revealing to us the dog’s name :)

          • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_WTZR3QDLTTXZ7LFGRP77ONQIGY Meg

For those of us who have been following Spoony for years, we’ve become rather attached, whether he or anyone else likes it or not. He lets us into a small part of his life in his reviews. We’ve gotten to know his personality and just a glimpse of his life every so often. Oreo, is just part of that life now. Its something we have to accept. I in now way think this will become the main focus of the Spoony Experiment, however, Oreo is now an element. Sure, we may get some silly videos every so often, but it won’t be bogging up Spoony’s serious work. I just figure this is a little filler between reviews. Who says its a bad thing?

            I’m bored, you’re bored. IT’S INTERNET VIDEOS.

          • Anonymous

The difference between opinions here are that, some are earned, others are not.

I already hate you for saying you’re entitled to your opinion. No, you’re not. No one is.

What I mean is that no one is “entitled” to any opinion merely for having one. That suggests that any asshole can say whatever they want and not back it up, or not have any decent or logical reason behind it. This mentality that “I have an opinion, therefore you have to respect it” is horse shit, and the major contributing factor to the ruining of our society.

Especially on the internet where this moronic myth persist, that “everyone has the right to an opinion”. That mentality breeds bleating imbeciles who spit out their stupidly formed opinions based on elitism, knee-kjerking, jealousy, spite and other such dumbshit lacking reasons with no logic or decency behind them, that we all get sick of.

Too many idiots have something to say, despite being idiots. And yet still think they magically were granted the right to it at birth, without doing anything socially, to earn the privilege. And that’s what opinions truly are. A privilege, not a right. If opinions were a right, rather than a privilege, no one would ever be wrong, and that’s obviously just stupid and not how the world works. Becuase if everyone is right or wrong 100% of the time, then no difference would exist, and the world is FULL of differences.

Some people have to be right and others have to be wrong. But whe you base your blind opinions on stupid, illogical, dumbshit things like paranoia, elitism, or other things that blind and delude your logic into self-centered blathering, telling people what other people NEED to do based on what you THINK or WISH they would do, when these aren’t your decisions to make, that’s when you become one of those wrong people.

You have to earn your opinions. Because opinions are only as good as other people can them seriously, disagreement or not. That’s why they have to be well-explained and backed up with logic on their side, like mine is. Even if someone disagrees, they have to put forth their opinion in such a
logical way that even their dissenters can say “I see where you are
            coming from.”.

Quite frankly, mine is the the idea that it’s not your website, and therefore you have no call to make here what he posts, or when. You’re just an elitist fool who thinks you have the control over this website that you don’t.

Just like you have to admit that more than anything you’ve said, which is just “whine whine whine he needs to do it my way even though it’s not my site whiiine”, that it’s easy to see where i’m coming from, saying it’s not your website.

But you, I don’t see at all where you’re coming from. It’s not your site. You don’t make the calls. Either watch, don’t watch, shut up or leave.

          • Anonymous

I’m sorry you’re having such a bad day. Hope things turn around for you.

        • Anonymous

Well, yes, he CAN do what he wants, becos it’s HIS fucking site! If he wants to turn it into fucking petpals.com, that’s his choice! Sure, I’d be disappointed if he did that, and I would stop following him, and the same goes for a lot of his fans, but, it’s his site- he can do what he wants with it.

Fact of the matter is, though, he’s not doing that. All he did was post two short videos on his new dog (as is his right, cos, let me remind you, it’s HIS fucking site). He’s still working on reviews, the website isn’t going to be devoted entirely to Oreo, so there’s no reason to complain.

(EDIT: Oh lordy, there actually is a petpals.com… I dread clicking the link…)

          • Anonymous

I’m not sure I’ll ever understand the impotent argument that “it IS his site.” I suppose that it is also fine that George Lucas continues to tamper with the Star Wars movies because, well, they ARE his movies. But I’ll concede that that example is a little abstract.

You are correct. Noah could in fact change this to petpals.com (if it didn’t already exist): but that would almost certainly alienate and drive away the vast majority of his audience. At which point, he would eventually lose popularity, sponsorship, advertising and money. So it is probably in his best interest to somewhat cater to his fans, because no matter snarky he comes off, Noah knows that his fandom is what has made him what he is.

So in that light, yes, there IS a reason to complain. I don’t want to see ANY more cutesy dog videos, and I am entitled to share that opinion. I agree that two videos is nothing to start a revolution over, but I would rather give my piece earlier than later. But the tired and trite remark that it’s his site, and he can do whatever he wants with it holds very little water. I own a car, and I can do whatever I want with it, too. But I hope one of my friends would step up and say something if I suddenly wanted to paint it pink and cover it in Hello Kitty decals. Particularly if my car was responsible for my income and livelihood.

That said, again, I do understand I may not be speaking for the majority. Just giving my opinion.

          • Anonymous

“I’m not sure I’ll ever understand the impotent argument that “it IS his site.”"

You don’t need to understand it. You just need to realize and accept that it IS his site, and he’s the one that posts content on it.

It’s incredibly simple, however, and you SHOULD be able to understand it. Even 5 year old’s get to the point eventually where they comprehend this level of logic: When it suddenly becomes your website, you can worry about what gets posted and when.

            Ta da.

Sure, on one hand, whether or not you understand it, is irrelevant. But on the other hand, whether or not you understand it… well… it is irrelevant.

The problem here is that you deluedly believe yourself to have more authority over the site and it’s contents than you actually do. Your job is to watch or not watch. Not bitch or whine about things that aren’t of your technical business nor capacity to decide on.

SIMPLE, RIGHT? gasp. I KNO. :O

          • Anonymous

Wow. You’re quite the emotional little second year philosophy student, aren’t you? Look. Just telling someone “You fail!” doesn’t prove a point. Nor does using a condescending tone, spewing needlessly angry insults, or regurgitating pseudo-intellectual nonsense and trying to pass it off as “logic” or profundity.

Ignoring the blatant hypocrisy of your entire rant about opinions (I refuse to get into a philosophical debate on semantics and what constitutes an “earned” opinion), the subjectivity of every fan of this site has its own merit. If I don’t want to watch dog videos, I’m allowed to convey that to Noah. It’s called feedback. And it’s super normal! Whether or not you personally like my approach (I guess that would be your opinion), coming in and aggressively calling me names, telling me to shut up, or assertively imposing your ideologies upon me is inappropriate.

            Have a wonderful day, sir!

I think the status of Oreo in Spoony’s video will more closely resemble Brad relationship with Lloyd the cat. He’ll sometimes be in the shot, and Spoony will throw some affectionate words, them get right back the the review.

He just got a dog, let him be proud for a few days. It’s a big deal. Save your worry in case every other video is exclusively about Oreo. But don’t spread fear.

      • Anonymous

Fair enough. I certainly don’t want to be an Oreo fear mongerer. Just was a little shocked that two doggy videos were posted in a row, and the second was literally just puppy mania.

If only SCIENCE! could harness that energy; it would solve the world’s energy crisis overnight.

My dog does this too; when he stops and looks at me, it’s usually an invitation to join in a game of run frantically around knocking things over. Now that he’s about two years old, he’s a bit less hyperactive, but when play time is on, IT’S ON!

Of course there is no substitute for getting down and wrastlin’ with her from time to time.

Ugh, this is one case where I wish you wouldn’t have listened to the fans. “Oreo” is quickly becoming one of the most cliche names to give a pet now. “Oh, it’s black and white, like an Oreo, aren’t I clever?” Seriously, I’ve known at least 2 dogs and 3 cats that were named Oreo. At least, it seems cliche on the East Coast.

Hey, bitches. Stop acting like you’re genuinely happy as if this affects you at all just ’cause it’s Spoony. And while you’re at it, say “that dog”, “her”, or some such titles and not “Oreo” (in sentences like “Oreo seem like a good dog”) as if you’re close friends.

    I’m not cranky.

You’re absolutely right, dude who replied to my post.

It is great to see just how happy you are now that you have a pet dog.

I am currently minding my sisters staffy while she, her husband and son are away on holidays. The dog’s name is Loki, and he really likes me; he will make this unique cheerfull barking, whining, howling noise every morning when I wake up and greet him, and as he does this, his tail wags so fast that it shakes his hind.

The best thing about dogs is just how loyal they are, plus they LOVE a good belly scratch, especially along the ribs.
