With all that space and hardwood floor, can’t you just buy an actual basketball hoop and save about 100 bucks on a Kinect and game?

Really? Uh. I wouldn’t take that for granted. The consumers’ and the gaming companies’ understanding of “works” drastically differs from each other these days.

 Probably you have to buy a hard-pad to put down.  Those things that you buy for your office chairs that have wheels when your room has a rug.

 Nah he was sulking on twitter, then when some “fans” started attacking him for it he started whailing on them with epic snark, and a bunch of other TGWTG peeps got all upset.

I know it’s cliche but:  dude what’s your problem?  What do you care what ads he puts on here?  You think he’s making millions doing this?  If it were me I’d be thrilled I had a fan base no matter how small and would accept any advertisers within moral reason in hopes of one day making this a full time job.  If you want to make it in any business, you do what you can and then you can be picky once you’re comfortable.  I always guessed Spoony made MAYBE $20-30,000 a year doing this, and I believe he’s been looking for a real job on top of it so it might not even be half that much for all I know.  It might amount to a few grand a year, who knows?  The point is there is a scant few on the internet who make vids exclusively and rake in the dough from doing that and only that.  Who are you to judge a guy who’s had some real success but doesn’t have advertisers banging down his door?  You take what you can get if you’re smart.  

I agree with you that TGWTG is an overrated site, and the site’s layout and functionality are downright horrid.  At the same time Doug Walker had an idea and it worked and he’s making money.  If you don’t like it you don’t have to go there.  No need to rant on a website, the wrong website no less.  I think the site is bogged down with BS contributors, but at the same time I still go there.  There’s a few that I really enjoy and wouldn’t have found if not for that site.  Again, a tip of the hat to Doug even though I think the website could be streamlined and much more functional.  Doesn’t mean he doesn’t deserve credit for providing me some entertainment.

As far as the content on this site, you’re probably just like everyone else:  you think some of it is brilliant and some of it you tried and will never watch again.  What’s the big deal?  Yeah there are some videos with Spoony’s brother and some others, but that’s seriously a big point of contention with you?  I don’t even know if  the videos with other people compile even 10% of the content on this site.  It’s a nitpick at best but it seems to bring your piss to a boil over no good reason.  Now that I think of it that pretty much sums up your entire rant:  Making a mountain out of a molehill.  

I’m honestly still not sure whether or not you’re just a very sad troll who put way too much time into this.  If you got me, well good for you I guess.  If not, you contradict yourself on top of everything else I’ve said.  All people do is complain?  WTF do you call what you just wrote?  Plus you spend paragraphs describing how you basically love the videos where Spoony complains about stuff.  Jesus, really? Believe it or not, I actually came here to throw some (actual) constructive criticism/mild complaining Spoony’s way.  He said recently he didn’t want to be one of those guys who’s posting E3 videos weeks after the show, however it looks like that’s exactly what’s happening.  His take on the Nintendo conference with Angry Joe and JeWario was, I thought, the beginning of some great stuff.  Unfortunately for some reason he cranks out two Counter Monkey videos when supposedly the E3 stuff is time sensitive.  Maybe he already had them ready to go before he left for E3 or was almost done with them, but I’m sitting here drumming my fingers waiting to hear what he has to say about pretty much ANYTHING that happened at E3 outside of the Nintendo conference, and the show ended over a week ago.  I mean seriously, I’m truly not being an asshole, but IS there more E3 stuff?  I watched the vids from the past two E3 shows on this site and they were great.  I thought we’d be getting more of the same, and I’m still pretty sure we are, but it’s a tad frustrating.  These videos take time believe me I understand, but at the same time if there’s a bunch of clips of Spoony and Angry Joe sounding off on what they saw I’m not sure why we haven’t seen anything more at this point.  Angry Joe is cranking out 1-3 vids a day because it’s mostly just a camera pointed at him while he talks to someone.  These Spoony/AJ vids were much the same as far as I knew, so I’m not sure what the big hold up is.

I apologize if I pissed anyone off, especially Spoony himself if he happens to read this for some reason.  I’m just confused about the content I’m seeing (or not seeing) at this point in time.  That being said it’s just not cool for someone like the guy above me to completely trash the site he probably frequents often and even admitted he enjoyed most of the time.  Oh well, TL;DR is coming I’m sure but that’s just my two cents.

Were this an actual argument, it might deserve being as long as it did. Sadly, it isn’t. It’s an endless repetition of the same point. “I don’t like TGWTG and I no dislike the Spoony One for associating with them.” Which is fine for you to believe – that’s your opinion and you’re entitled to it, but it should not have taken two pages to say, especially when it’s all an excuse to complain about the same old trite things – you want more videos and fewer vlogs.

Trouble is, a lot of the rest of the people who frequent this site actually do very much enjoy Spoony’s vlogs. I’ve said this many times before, but to me, the best thing in any Spoony One video is Spoony himself. I’ve watched the guy’s work since his Clones of Bruce Lee review, and his acting has improved tremendously since then, and continues to improve to the point where I can’t say it really matters what he says at this point, when how he says it is so entertaining.

Take the Ultima 9 review for instance. People complain it was empty of content, and it may have been, but watching Spoony “lose [his] god damn mind” over the game and doing it so well and so convincingly is well worth the price of admission. Wait, remind me again what the price of admission was? Oh, that’s right: FUCKING NOTHING!

“In short, we don’t need a prolific amount of people “reviewing” movies and video games. It seems all Americans know how to do anymore is complain, which won’t cut it when we inevitably end up as cheap labor to more industrious and hard working societies. My advice to everyone is to stop watching such things before they influence your personality and turn you into an entitled slob like so many of us have become.
Some constructive criticism: if this is a job, then make a schedule and stick to it while monitoring your quality. I would say that if you are able to produce a quality review that resembles some of the things on your “Game Reviews” page, once every two weeks could be sufficient, and only if done without insulting your viewers with the useless, no-merit fluff intended to generate more revenue.
