Spoony & Diamanda Hagan – Sting: Moment of Truth

The Spoony One | Sep 15 2012 | more notation(s) |

Hagan forces The Spoony One to watch the most boring Christian wrestling biopic either of them have ever seen!

  • Atmos_Duality

    Huh. Spoony and Hagan.
Two of my favorite comedic net reviewers.
    This should be good..

  • Tommi Carleman

I was waiting for this! Finally!

  • http://twitter.com/DarkBee1 DarkBee

This makes a lot more sense than your last ‘crossover’, and it seems you two work together quite well.

  • http://twitter.com/KaijuZ Emil Petrunov

What hurts is when Diamanda tells Spoony to get out of the Insano character. I know that was intended to be funny, but…. I dunno. It made me sad. It’d been hilarious to have Insano and Hagan banter for a bit.

    Oh well.

    On with the review.

I recall seing some images from this movie, but I never knew what the flying fuck it was about. Turns out it’s not some “Wrestler does some cool stuff” movie, but instead it’s all about String going Christian?! Wha-why?! What was he doing that caused him to go nutso and go for the cross?! Was that even EVER explained?!

Enjoyed the review for what it was. A crossover quite a few had hoped to see. Granted, I never thought of these two making a crossover, unless it involved more of Insano.

PS: That bit with Mormon Spoony? Priceless!

    • http://twitter.com/Diamandahagan Diamanda Hagan

Well it wasnt actually Insano. It was Spoony dressing up as Insano. Im sure actual Insano and me could have some fun if we ever met:p

      • zhellas

Well, now I know who’s going to be SCIENCE’D! next time.

      • http://twitter.com/KaijuZ Emil Petrunov

Ooooh! Okay, thanks. Sorry for the mixup. Clones are so hard to differenciate between x _ X

  • Chris

Wow, wonder when this was shot. Be nice to think Spoony’s still doing reviews with some of the guys. It was really funny to see him on Joe’s Guild Wars review recently.

    And why the link?

    • septimar

It was shot at Brocon in Ireland July 20-22nd 2012.
The link is because Spoony has a contract with Springboard which doesn’t allow him to embed Blip videos on his site.

      • Chris

  • VJS25

Funny review! Hail Hagan and Hail Insano!

  • http://profiles.google.com/jonathandmcgowan Jonathan McGown

Wow thats the first time we’ve seen spoony take off the insano glasses. Kind of sad really. Oh well glad to see we can still get the odd crossover even with spoony being on his own again.

    • Gborr

Wait, so now Insano is a split-personality of Spoony again!?
      Damn you , plot-hole!!! D:<

      • http://twitter.com/Diamandahagan Diamanda Hagan

Nah, this ep just had Spoony dressed up as Insano.

        • http://www.facebook.com/chris.lang.509 Chris Lang

That’d be weird if Insano took off the goggles and tried to impersonate Spoony.
Anyway, the joke reminded me of the meta-joke in the first Child’s Play crossover between the Nostalgia Critic and Phelous, where Phelous calls attention to the fact that the Nostalgia Critic and Chester A. Bum are played by the same person. Doug, in his commentary, said that that would be the ONLY time we’d see him struggling to put on the Bum outfit, as in-universe NC and the Bum are indeed seperate characters who have interacted with each other on several occasions.

  • http://twitter.com/TheMetalOtaku アレクサンダーリーチ

This movie is probably the second most embarrassing thing Jeremy Borash has ever been in. His first, of course, being Vince Russo’s stooge in WCW. But that’s just my opinion.

  • marabackman

Mormon-Spoony is one of the creepier characters in a while, close to Fucking Chuckles in freakiness. There’s just something very off about seeing Spoony act like that, inhumanly calm and polite like the androids in the Alien-franchise.

    • Mori Kessler

Yet, the Alien-franchise androids are somehow more believable too.

    • http://www.facebook.com/maria.white.18062 Maria White

      My face: D8
Uhh…. I live around… LDS folks all day, every day…. That was… quite spot on…..
      *Much later*
Awww… Spoony I don’t think you would want to have the sexy time with Diamanda…. just saying. Most of her lovers… and not lovers. End up quite… interned.

    • zhellas

Mormon-Spoony kinda reminds me of Butthead from Beavis and Butthead, but in a suit, smart/not an idiot and more peaceful.

Mostly because Mormon-Spoony never really closing his mouth reminds me of how Butthead does that.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Kenneth-Dunlop/600725541 Kenneth Dunlop

I would love to see Mormon Spoony become a regular character. I love obscure characters.

  • Andrew Smith

CONTINUITY! Mormons don’t wear crosses Mormon Spoony! We wear bland
business suits, have bland haircuts, and have terrible tastes in movies
and video-games (ThatDudeInTheSuede doesn’t count). We do this so we can
easily blend in to the background so people won’t be suspecting us on
the day of the Uprising (hint: It’s in 2012, but not the month you’re
thinking of). Oh sure, you laugh at our dedication to using immature swear words like “darn” “heck” “crud” and our religious vestments, but who’ll be laughing when all the Temple spires deploy into nuclear silos?

    • Andrew Smith

Oh wait, I think Revelation Spoony and Mormon Spoony are two different Spoonys…Spoonies? There’s gotta be, like, ten Spooni running around right now, so you’ll apologize for having me be confused.

      • IAmYorick

Is the plural of Spoony Spooni? Spoonies? Maybe just Spoons? Is Spoony of Grecian or Roman origin?

        • Mori Kessler

Perhaps “Spooners” would be an easier way to address multiple Spoonys?

    • http://twitter.com/Diamandahagan Diamanda Hagan

The Spoony who got shot was ‘Christian Spoony’ who was introduced in my Apocalypse review. Mormon Spoony was his replacement. Im sure if and when we work together again we’ll create Jewish Spoony, Muslim Spoony, Raelian Spoony, Wiccan Spoony or something.

      • Andrew Smith

Well now I’ll be expecting to see Spoony with Payot and speaking in a ridiculous Yiddish accent. Should Nina Galas and Mormon Spoony ever team up, they should definitely watch September Dawn. Fantastic review as always Diamanda.

      • marabackman

There have been so many jokes of his “massive Jew-nose” in commentaries, so it would make sense to see him dressed like a Rabbi. Sweet if he does a whole “Alter Kocker”-routine :D

      • http://www.facebook.com/people/Cory-Williams/100000927554729 Cory Williams

        Don’t forget Scientologist Spoony

        • http://www.facebook.com/dumbmick Jesse McGuire

          You mean Terl?

          • MFlorian

      • DukeCrimson

Can I have one of them as a pet?

    • Mori Kessler

Darn it! Stop giving away the secret of the Temple silos – I mean spires! For you punishment you will be forced to endure listening to endless tracks of “Popcorn popping on the Apricot tree!”

      • http://www.facebook.com/breakstarblood Benjamin Hodges

Wow. Good to see some other Mormon Spoony fans. Now I don’t feel as tainted. Especially if you guys are giving away all the fake secrets in order to hide the real ones… Maniacal laugh… Maniacal laugh…

        • Mori Kessler

Dang Mormons are the only reason I ran into the TGWTG site and Spoony to begin with a while back. I knew yet-to-be-Mrs. “Suede” who shared Suede’s original “Top 11 Anime Opening Songs” video (or something like that), which ultimately brought me to where I am today. Spoony’s SWAT play-through and review of The Thing game were the first videos I remember watching, and also leads to my snickering whenever I see a fuse box, or cover SWAT in the news.

        • laserwolf65

I didn’t know you were a Spoony fan, Ben.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Karol-Buczynski/1691971149 Karol Buczyński

Actually i like this one more than their last crossover for some reason, maybe cause there is more Spoony and they are both in one room this time, idk.

  • Olivia Williams

Wow that was a mean ending Spoony

  • smek2

Sorry, Diamanda Hagan does nothing for me. On the other hand, i haven’t watched any of his movies so… i mean her movies… ok, that isn’t meant to be rude, as i said i don’t know that Hagan character, but… is Hagan a male or female? I can’t tell.

    • Wayne Davis

She’s a woman but yeah, I had the same problem at first myself.

      • http://hyperbolicfilmrant.blogspot.com/ sekiwat

        same ere

    • http://twitter.com/Creature_SH Creature SH

Come on – The makeup might obscure her features a lot, but it shouldn’t be hard to tell that she’s a woman.

  • Mori Kessler

This was highly amusing, though the Sting movie itself left me wondering what the hell was going on half of the time. And Mormon Spoony… has he asked regular Spoony if he would like to attend seminary with him yet?

  • http://hyperbolicfilmrant.blogspot.com/ sekiwat

I like Diamond Haggis. She’s cute.

    • Cthulhu07

      Haggis? What is Haggis? :D

      • Gborr

        Isn’t that a Scottish dish? :P

        • Atmos_Duality

It is also slang that refers to a Scottish way of speaking.

          • Cthulhu07

            And above all it’s a Highlander reference…

      • http://hyperbolicfilmrant.blogspot.com/ sekiwat

It’s a Sheep’s stomach stuffed with meat and barley.

  • Renaissance_nerd

“I think Kefka just knocked on my door”

Your back? No one ever really leaves, do they?

I’m not trying to be mean, I just remember what you said about being fed up and leaving forever. What changed you mind?

      • Renaissance_nerd

When did i ever say that? I don’t recall ever saying i was leaving TSE.

        • http://www.facebook.com/people/George-Rosenbaum/100001387887487 George Rosenbaum

Sorry, I have you confused with goodguya. My mistake.

I’m amazed that Helam: A Stripling Warrior’s Quest exists… and also that Helam is apparently a word. Sounds like somebody clearing their throat.

I guess this is Spoony’s last crossover

    • http://twitter.com/Diamandahagan Diamanda Hagan

      You are.

  • Wayne Davis

As a UK citizen “What the fuck is a Jedward” tickles me!

  • Fan_the_Flames

Ultimate Warrior Spoony always makes me smile.

    • smek2

Yeah, his impression is spot on.

  • UnShame

this girlwomanwhatever she is is disgusting
    and the wrestling is bullshit
    so i skip this one

    • MFlorian

And nobody likes you. Sense a pattern?

      • UnShame

        nah, two people like me

        • MFlorian

          Your alts don’t count.

  • Renaissance_nerd

you know i gave Hagan alot of shit in the past but she has improved and teamed with Spoony she is pretty funny.

  • Shaka Zulu

I just hate her “act” its lame as fuck, I’m glad this will be likely be spoonys last crossover with any of the TGWTG cancer (bar AngryJoe)

I watched it but it was just average, the owen hart joke was good though.

    • Kaihedgie

So any crossover Spoony does with anyone, especially those he’s had
great chemistry with such as Nostalgia Critic and Linkara, is horrible,
but Angry Joe, who once disrespected a well-known figure in the gaming
world and didn’t shut up about one video game and exhibits double
      standards, is passable?

  • L1nk1

Can I smell the shitstorm coming?

  • chaosmaster

You know Spoony, by now your Warrior monologues are sounding authentic enough to start creeping me the fuck out XD

  • PeaTearGryfin

I’m usually not a big Diamanda Hagan person, but that was actually pretty good. Loved the Doctor Insano cameo.

  • FigmentImage

Dayum. An Owen Hart joke? Careful, Spoony, I hear Scott Hall still goes around threatening to kick the shit out of people for that. Still, my love for tasteless humor and your personal celebration of the joke makes it okay in my book.

Not a bad review, although it seemed like Spoony’s heart wasn’t really in it. But I guess that’s what he was going for. Gotta blame the source material, too: there just isn’t much comedy tied to a repetitive, low-budget religion flick. But they did a good job of tearing it apart, I have to give them that.

  • CronoT

I find it particularly funny that Spoony completely deadpans upon seeing Diamanda. All of the other reviewers have reacted like they just saw The Exorcist for the first time. Whereas Spoony comes across like “Seriously, this is it? I’ve seen weirder stuff coming down from my Rx Meds.”

    • likalaruku

Sure, if you didn’t watch past his slamming the door.

  • IHeart28

This was good! Diamanda and Spoony have good chemestry. Although I’m not the hugest fan of Diamanda, she was really funny and Ultimate Warrior Spoony made me laugh hard. Wonderful and funny crossover guys, I had fun watching it

  • http://twitter.com/CeeSique C-Sick

    i liked this a lot.

  • Princess Stabbity

Love this far too much. But then it’s my two favorite reviewers together, so I am completely biased toward their awesome.

  • Adell

Definitely one of the better crossovers.

  • MechaVelma

Diamanda is one of the reviewers that I have a hard time grasping the concept of. But I can not deny how well these two played off one another. Just back and forth awesome.

  • http://www.facebook.com/reinis.rinka Reinis Rinka

    Loved it :3

  • http://www.facebook.com/holly.smith.581 Holly Smith

Loved it! My two favorite reviewers finally doing a proper crossover!

  • http://twitter.com/ravenwoodwitch angela

Wish you and Diamanda could do more together, you two have a feedback loop going on that just makes thing hilarious.
I’m no wrestling fan, but even I can see how one would find this to be a fail of epic proportions. My symapthies to all who wasted money or a movie-rental on that piece of shit.

  • RightousMan

Great Review Spoony. I’m not a huge fan of hagan but he was alright in this review with you. Plus for reviewing sting!

    • Gborr

I guess it’s just a typo, but it still bears mention: She.
      I know, crazy! :P

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1271695246 Michael-Wife Robbins

        Wait, that’s a “she”?

        Well, that explains some things.

      • RightousMan

You sure Hagan is a woman? I sworn i’ve seen him wearing normal clothing and had no breast to speak of. I thought cross dressing was a part of his ‘thing’

        • http://twitter.com/Diamandahagan Diamanda Hagan

          My d-cups beg to differ.

          • RightousMan

uh… >.> sorry. Guess i just don’t watch enough of your videos to be able to tell.

  • http://twitter.com/Das_Bass Das_Bass

    FF6 joke made me smile.

  • likalaruku

I’ve got it….I know who Sting reminds me of; Evil Kabukiman from “The Toxic Avenger IV.”

  • likalaruku

My curiosity is piqued; Did angry Joe have sex with The Distressed Watcher?

    • zhellas

Unless Angry Joe is a banana, then no, they have not had sex.

  • likalaruku

    “Fuck you, Ziggy Stardust.” XD

  • http://thegreenfred.tumblr.com/ Green Fred

Sometimes if the movie itself is bad enough, it’ll ruin the review for me, as the movie clips themselves become painful to watch. Sting is easily that level of bad, but Hagan and Spoony’s chemistry totally overpowered that. This review was great. :)

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Adam-Stackenland/854319790 Adam Stackenland

That was a nice crossover, good work.

  • Kendotuxedo

I loved the joke, “there’s a girl who thinks she’s the Undertaker”, then we all just stare at Hagan for ten seconds.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Steven-Black/100000380573698 Steven Black

Spoony and Hagan. Well I watched it because Hagan and NC was probably the best most recent NC that was even worth watching (seriously same type of anti-chemistry as in this one, well worth a watch). Some funny moments, although the source material was particularly painful to watch.

  • Zer0FiveSeven

Not only was it great to see you do a movie review again, I love that it was wrestling related… ESPECIALLY that piece of crap. I tried watching that on Netflix a year or so ago and couldn’t even sit through it, which is saying something. I really had no F’n idea what the hell I was watching.

I hope we get to see more vids like this from you in the near future. Thanks for all the great free content!

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1093039077 Ben Hannan

Its funny, in the past, Spoony’s vids always gave me grief when trying to buffer them, which i often fixed by going directly to blip or through TGWTG. Since Spoony has moved to his new player, not a hiccup but blip apparently now hates my laptop.
Still a hilarious review, even if the blip gods made me wait 45mins to buffer

  • Mateusz K.

I’m sorry, but when I first saw Spoony / Diamanda crossover I wasn’t sure that Hagan was a woman. It took me sometime. Still, another funny crossover for them. I like the undertaker girl joke and how Spoony just looks at her… awkward :)

  • http://twitter.com/yamina_chan yamina-chan

Even tough I am not a big fan of Diamanda Hagan, I really liked this crossover =)
The diffrtent styles worked well with each other for this review and there were some really great lines in this. “I think Kefka just knocked on my door” beeing one of them ^^
I feel somewhat sorry for the Christian-Spoony-Clone, beeing instantly replaced by yet an other version XD’

The only real complaint I can think of for this video is the Insano-dressup. There’s allready enough confusion about who he is, we don’t need any more! XD’ (Yes, I am one of those fans who tries to find a way how it all makes sense, even tough “there is no continuity, there’s just Insano.” XD What can I say? I like storylines =b)
But it does explain why his outfit was hanging in the wardrobe near the door.

Overall, not the best video ever but I enjoyed it ^^

  • antiquarius

Sorry but Diamanda Hagan is an example where a “character” or “gimmick” just goes to far and becomes unfunny and annoying.

Similar to the SCREEEEEEECHING voice the Nostalgia Critic did way to often in his videos.

  • Davy M Jones

Really dug this crossover… much moreso than the last one with Diamanda, since the chemistry flowed better with them in the same room.

The one-liners were great, but I would have liked to see the blunt of most of the jokes get split more evenly between the two of them.

The wrap-up of the Undertaker joke made my night.

  • http://www.facebook.com/christian.kadelka Christian Kadelka

    Love the Junes shirt!

  • http://twitter.com/MileyWinters Nataly Mitrovic

This was a good crossover but seriously, this isn’t even close to Spoony’s usual level of comedy. He seems so bitter and annoyed the whole time, as if it was no fun for him at all. I like Diamanda and the Mormon-bit was hilarious, but it’s just not the same anymore…

  • marabackman

It’s always interesting to see how the different characters react to each other in crossovers, especially how well they might manage to complement each others’ comedic styles. I think the main thing that makes this particular crossover work is how unexpected Spoony’s reaction to Diamanda was. While many others have been either deathly afraid of her, or “merely” creeped out, Spoony is mostly unimpressed and nonchalant through the whole thing. I really liked how confusing this was for Diamanda and that it seemed at some points that she worked extra hard in trying to horrify him. I could actually see it become a running gag in future crossovers. :)

  • http://twitter.com/MetalDane Dane Winton

I really like the dynamic that you and Hagan have. Very fun and funny stuff :)

  • doresh

Every day is great at your TSE :D !

Man, Hagan must be pretty meta. She unmasked Insano!

And damn! I was looking forward to that Spoony Revelation!

Why the hell do these religious movies have so many problems getting their message across in a way that is NOT hamfisted and/or nonsensical Oo ?

Man, if they’re ever going to make a movie about the Ultimate Warrior, I hope they’ll cast Noah XD

  • http://www.facebook.com/christian.kadelka Christian Kadelka

Spoony asking Kefka if she would suck his cock my god that was fuckin weird lol!

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1271695246 Michael-Wife Robbins

Distressed Watcher and Angry Joe had sex?

Well, that’s mental imagery that I’m not going to be able to forget outside of a lobotomy.

  • http://sbkmulletman.deviantart.com/ sbkMulletMan

Well, Spoony, you did it. You goddamn did it. You made me laugh at an Owen Hart joke. And let’s be honest, the movie set it up so that you HAD to make an Owen Hart joke!

Also, I gotta say, Hagan has really improved. And Spoony helped her image for me by making the Kefka joke! Great job from both of you for this video!

…uh-oh, my mind’s gone to a dark place. Can we get a Hagan & Chuckles the Jester crossover?

    • marabackman

Hagan and Fucking Chuckles, in a crossover..? That is such a frightening concept, with potential for some serious nightmare-fuel, that they must do it! :D

    • doresh

Let’s throw Boffo the Clown in the mix as well. Can’t get any more dysfunctional now XD !

      • marabackman

It would probably consist entirely of Boffo sitting in the middle of them, looking absolutely terrified.

        • doresh

He’s far too much of a gentleman clown for that XD

I’d imagine him sitting in the middle, always smiling (occasionally commenting with his horn). After the review is over, he would then look at the other two and smack them in the back of their head. Then he would just leave while the others wonder what they did wrong.

        • http://www.facebook.com/chris.lang.509 Chris Lang

The whole point of Boffo the clown is to be a Non Ironic Clown in an era when clowns who are genuinely out to entertain people are not common anymore (hence the trope name Non Ironic Clown). Linkara introduced him as a reaction against scary or evil clowns like the Joker, Pennywise from ‘It’, and characters in the comic book he was reviewing.
So of COURSE Boffo wouldn’t exactly be thrilled by Chuckles and Diamanda Hagan. As for what he’d do other than shake his head and honk his horn, I don’t know.

          • marabackman

Y’know, it would be really awesome if Boffo managed to defeat the menace of Chuckles with a well-placed honk, that would sonic-blast the jester away.

  • Peter Lustig

This crossover was actually amazing :D Don’t really like crossovers that much… but this worked out pretty well! ‘I think Kefka just knocked on my door”

  • http://twitter.com/mariner1712 Nick Martinelli

I love how Todd had to change a joke in one of his reviews because he mentioned Mormons (since Suede was still part of TGWTG, though on mission at the time) and yet Mormon Spoony comes out of nowhere.

Hell, when “The Book of Mormon” gets a broadway run again, Noah easily could do it.

    • http://twitter.com/Diamandahagan Diamanda Hagan

He changed a gag because it mentioned Mormons? Really? I had a Mormon minion in one of my eps! But hen again, most reviewers wont touch religion with a stick… while i have terrible, horrible sex with it…

      • MFlorian

You appear to be a master of disturbing imagery. I’d like to subscribe to your newsletter.

      • marabackman

It’s a touchy subject for many, but sometimes it is in need of some frankness. Not gonna lie, sometimes your reviews of religious movies go a bit too far in my taste, because Christianity is very important to my mother. Although the movies you review represent a form of Christianity very alien to her beliefs. I think she would actually be more horrified by the message of the movies, because she herself is of the “live and let live”-variety of Christian.

        • http://twitter.com/Diamandahagan Diamanda Hagan

When I review a religious movie I try to limit my criticisms of the religious belief to those espoused in the movie itself. Instead of complaining about god, i complain about ‘the god of this film’ etc.

          • marabackman

True dat. It’s surprising how much the Rapture-movies make it impossible to believe that God, as presented in the movies at least, could ever be considered a benign entity. Like you’ve pointed out many times, they often make a far better case for the opposition than their own message.

          • http://www.facebook.com/chris.lang.509 Chris Lang

Ah, you mean the way Film Brain complained about the God played by Morgan Freeman in Evan Almighty, then? Yeah, sometimes God has a few questionable portrayals in movies. But at least Evan Almighty is intended as a comedy. We can’t say the same for, say, the ‘Left Behind’ movie.

          • Atmos_Duality

Honesty and even-handed respect for philosophy on the internet.
            A real rarity. True ambrosia.

Less silly version: You earn my respect here, Diamanda.

  • Jessica Clarke

“What the fuck is a Jedward?”
I envy your innocence, Spoony. How I envy your innocence…

  • http://www.facebook.com/naomiwashburn Naomi Washburn

Lol. What’s interesting to me is that sometime after this, Sting obviously got some acting lessons. He was in another Christian movie called The Encounter. The plot of the movie is that a bunch of people wind up at a diner in the middle of the night and the guy who owns it is Jesus, who proceeds to try and convert them all. And if you think that sounds like a stupid concept, you’re right. Sting plays an atheist in the film, and his performance isn’t half bad. The movie itself has decent production values for a Christian film, but it’s not going to convert anyone. It’s very much a preaching to the choir movie. It’s probably not bad enough to be review fodder for either you or Diamanda, but if you want to see Sting in an acting role where he doesn’t suck, you might check it out.

In the 90’s there was Hulks tv show ‘Thunder in Paradise’ where he has a reoccurring part of a brain washed ex marine who was basically his enemy for awhile until Hulk ‘saved’ him by breaking the brainwashing trigger or something like that. He didn’t do bad playing a crazy person.

You had better give us a review of Halam – a Stripling Warrior story now. As an ex-mo, trust me – I need to see what insanity was cooked up.

Awesome, Diamanda is always great in cross overs, and people really don’t give her a chance.

I really enjoyed this crossover, and it is great to see you continuing to do them. You and Diamanda make a pretty good duo, hope you two team up again.

yeah mormon spoony is seriously creepy. i don’t know where spoony could go with him on a regular basis without becoming insulting to some people’s beliefs. i do think he’s more sensetive than that. but let’s see where it takes us :-D

Well this was boring as all hell. The movie, not the review. Awesome crossover, you guys have a very good chemistry.

Funny that this video is made and a few days later WrestleWrestle.com does not exist anymore.Too bad, I was hoping for a return for over a year.

even as a Christian, I can’t make sense of this movie. Even among the plethora of underwhelming, over-acted, “direct-to-video so fast they buckled the display case” videos I’ve been asked to stomach “because they are about Jesus”, this video still makes no sense at all.

Our protagonist seems tranquilized the entire film, as though the only time slot he could fit this filming in was interrupting REM sleep for two hours every night. The film would seem to suggest he found his salvation in the middle of a breakdown… A very quiet, invisible breakdown. With no external signs of stress or torment.

Then suddenly a fan video for for a song by a satanist.

And back to Jesus is awesome, I think. Actually the more I think about this, the more confused I get. And there I probably wouldn’t survive the coffee it would take to apply logical thinking here.

    Good review (tranquilized stare).

To be fair I added the Marilyn Manson because it looked like a Manson music video.

      • Segatron

Strangely enough, taking out the music only raises more questions about why that’s in the film. A lot more.

23:50 Is it just me, or does Sting look like Tommy Wiseau at that point? I half expected him to say “I’m fed up with this world” and do a bizarre tantrum scene.
This movie gets an F. If you can’t show or even tell just what was wrong with a person, then you can’t very well tell a story about that person’s redemption. I’ve never seen this film, and it sounds like it’d be a REALLY tough film to sit through, but it seems like all it really has to say is “I behaved badly a long time ago, but I found Jesus and I’m all better now. No need to go into details or anything. Just sit back and see these career highlights and scenes of travelling from place to place that never go anywhere’. That’s it.
The film is clearly a very boring film. I’d sooner be watching those old ‘WCW Motorsports’ segments where the WCW-endorsed racing car always lost. Those were at least somewhat amusing (if not for the reasons they intended).

Funny having Spoony on to be the wrestling “expert” assuming promoter who liked Sting and Warrior named Jarrett was Jeff when it was his Dad Jerry :p
