Spoony goes through all the cool convention swag he got at E3!

You can hold a BETRAYAL contest, where gamers can write articles on their biggest betrayal in video games on subjects you did not cover. That way, others can be more aware of series that just went downhill because of one game.

  • http://www.facebook.com/jbigness Jordan Bigness

maybe put a raffle vid on that all your fans can comment or leave their email and they would be put into a hat to draw for prizes. No clue for the shirts though.

  • http://twitter.com/DarkBee1 DarkBee

Somehow, I’m being reminded of George Carlin. Where are you gonna put all this stuff?

  • http://www.facebook.com/louis.gonzales1 Louis Gonzales

That is such a cool hat, Spoony!

    • Dragdar

      haha,  no it’s not

      • http://www.facebook.com/people/Cart-Man/100002326540155 Cart Man

        Whiny Bitch.

        • GreenGear

… WTF. It really is like Cartman registered for a WordPress account. Stop being a douche.

    • Nicodimus22

Reminded me of Jayne’s hat from Firefly.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Luke-Rees/100000239794052 Luke Rees

That’s is a pretty bitchin’ hat. The only cool/unique convention swag I got is a yellow vinyl/LP of the OST for “Driver: San Francisco” from the UK’s GameFest. Oh and a Street Fighter x Tekken Gamefest shirt. I’d really like to hit up something like Comic Con, Wonder Con and e3, especially for the swag.

  • http://twitter.com/sharkjack_NL jaap rutten

You could do something like the charity auctions Little Kuriboh does every now and again. You wouldn’t gain any money, charities recieve money and fans get some cool swag. Seems like a good solution to me.

  • Vol7ar

I went to Quakecon ’04 and ’05 and the predominant swag were t-shirts. I got enough t-shirts to last over 5 years.

Also, I’m pretty sure those cardboard box speakers are the kind that a couple of guys came up with who got an investment deal on the tv show Shark Tank last year.

You brought your brother? Awesome :D Let him be in on the E3 opinion vids.

      Varying degrees of want.

  • peteman

Charity donation at the next TGWTG charity drive?

  • harry de bie

using a ugly hipster term in the wrong way… stay classy spoony….

    • the09line

SWAG the acronym (Stuff we all get) and swag the abbreviation for ‘swagger’ are two totally different things, and the former has been around as long as conventions have been.

      • Daniel2112

Longer. The term was synonymous with “loot” in the days of sail and piracy.

    • septimar

      swag (v.)
“to move heavily or unsteadily,” 1520s, probably from O.N. sveggja “to swing, sway,” cognate with O.E. swingan “to swing” (see swing). The noun sense of “ornamental festoon” is first found 1794. Colloquial sense of “promotional material” (from recording companies, etc.) was in use by 2001; swag was English criminal’s slang for “quantity of stolen property, loot” from c.1839. Earlier senses of “bulky bag” (c.1300) and “big, blustering fellow” (1580s) may represent separate borrowings from the Scandinavian source. Swag lamp attested from 1966.

  • http://www.facebook.com/pete.koivuranta Pete Koivuranta

Take a swig everytime Spoony says “Swag”.

  • http://twitter.com/Gerudon Gerudon

    “This hat is way cooler.”

You didn’t just said that? :D

  • http://www.facebook.com/keinushi Keinushi Snyder

you should auction them for charity

  • GreenGear

I…I feel an intense irrational seething hatred for that word. I don’t know what the fuck it means. I feel like there’s a perfectly good existing word not being used in its place. But I don’t know which one.

What the fuck classifies an object as swag.

    • Nicodimus22

    • Joseph Gabin

SWAG is an abbreviation for Stuff We All Get.

    • http://twitter.com/kondoaeros Andy Leung

GreenGear, I know that feel bro
(insert picard dafaq is this shit meme)

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Cart-Man/100002326540155 Cart Man

Its a term that has been used for way over 100 years.Get over it mate, far more important things to worry and stress about…

      • GreenGear

Fuck off a cliff and ignite into fire and fall into a mound of plague shit and then explode.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Bruno-Assis/100002137326281 Bruno Assis

On the RE 6 logo, do you mean the giraffe? Cannot be unseen, I feel your pain. :>

  • Dragdar

Spoony comes of as a bit childishly pretentious about his press status.
“yeah, whatever , you dont have it.” ok … so?

and the comments about the pole dancer…”it was kinda sad?” sad? she’s doing her job, why do you pick on her. i bet you stood there insecurely eyeing her, drooling all over the show floor and now you’re a moral authority?

It’s silly how much his ego soars gets when he’s alone in front of the camera.

but when you expect him to hold his own in an interview with real people of the industry he’s just this silent, crumpled, submissive figure.

Will we even see real interviews on the spot? or just post-e3 rants about how stuff sucked and wasn’t up to his excellence’s standards

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Guillermo-Garcia/100002174422715 Guillermo Garcia

How is he “childishly pretentious”? He’s just a nerd showing off the stuff that he got at E3. Any one of us would do it.

How exactly is he acting like a moral authority when he’s saying the woman should’ve been wearing LESS clothes? He was more worried about coming off as an ass. He’s not criticizing or “picking” on the person, he’s criticizing what they were making her wear.

Finally, he’s hardly acting like an egomaniac. He’s just a nerd doing nerd stuff and talking about the pointless nerdy stuff he got at a convention. All of us do it with our friends, the only difference is he that does it in front of a camera.

I agree that he should be more assertive when interviewing people and it sometimes seems like he’s a bit too nervous when doing so. But that’s simply an aspect that he needs to improve on, no reason to hate on him for it.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/George-Rosenbaum/100001387887487 George Rosenbaum

“I BET you stood there insecurely eyeing her, drooling all over the show floor and now you’re a moral authority?”

You bet? So we can just PRETEND that someone is a scumbag now? Well, ‘I bet’ your talking out of your ass. What an easy way to make an opinion look like fact.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1303424724 Nataly Mitrovic

Seriously, wtf? The thing about his “press status” was clearly a joke, he was even acting as if he was a little embarressed about it rather than super-proud. And yeah, the pole-dancer thing IS kind of sad because it’s certainly not a pole-dancer’s job to dance in front of tons of young adults and also teenagers (I wonder how that is even legal) in her underwear just for the company to get some attention from the pervs in the audience. THAT is pretty sad. I also found that Spoony seemed a little pretentious in the past, but seriously, can you blame the guy? He’s one of the most famous reviewers on the internet, he’s constanly being praised by anyone and everyone, the press status is pretty cool…That tends to get to one’s head. But see what happened – Spoony got overhelmed by everything that had happened and couldn’t take the pressure anymore, so now he’s back to taking it a little slower. I applaude that.

  • bringotiger

I will take that messenger type bag… Just saying, but hey you could always do anything from a trivia contest to a bake sale to give that stuff away. Set up a contest of some sort, but you said that. It’s just a matter of fairness and excessive use of the internet, because that takes most trivia games right out. Or wait till you get so many comments on this vid and then announce that anyone who comments will be entered in a drawing, because I feel that’s pretty fair, not sure anyone else does. Random chance! Leave it to RANDOM CHANCE!

  • LER92

I’d like the medium sized Persona t-shirt^^
is there any way to vote for it? or maybe have a contest?

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Matei-Nicolaescu/100000226813442 Matei Nicolaescu

I can get you rid of thous Bethesda speakers, Muhahahaa! Ow and try to be more of a presence when you interview the different people at E3 and stuff, and not so much with poor Joe. Great job nonetheless. :)

  • Nick O’Hara

For the Bethesda Speakers, hold a trivia contest about the company and it’s history of say… 10 questions?

(PS – I don’t personally want them but the idea popped in my head.)

  • Solstafir

Screw you dude, I’m medium sized almost S… only kids my ass. So I’d
gladly take the shirt off your hands.
Besides that some nice swag, the Bethesda one looked interesting at first glance but only speakers is kinda disappointing.

    • MediaGold

I’m 5’10 and 185 pounds and I wear medium sized T-shirts.  I think Spoony could wear a medium easy.  I chuckled when he said he only wore large size.  I guess he likes his clothes loose like the Swag Pimp he is.

SG girls huh spoon….didnt know you were into that kinda stuff bro…

Also just have people comment for the junk they want and add a number to everyones name and run a random number generation a few times….WAIT BETTER! Depending upon the number of people who want junk roll dem D20s!

  • http://www.facebook.com/hampus.danielsson.7 Hampus Danielsson

That persona T-shirt would look awesome on me *hint hint*

  • http://www.facebook.com/c4zador AJ Torres

Random number generator is usually the way to go.

  • http://www.facebook.com/GiRTheDuck Matthew Johnson

My girlfriend is a massive Parsona fan and was VERY sad hearing of this shirt … I wish I could get one for her.

Is there a competition on here or something because even entering it would put a smile on her face and that would make my year.

  • PeaTearGryfin

I want that hat so much right now.

  • gamefreak253

if no one has got the beer mug yet i would like to get it also i don’t know if this is important or not on how you are going to give this stuff away but my birthday is August 18.

  • phwrobel

I’m 6’2″ and can wear most American medium shirts (and some European… European sizes seem to assume no one has broad shoulders). Although I can understand with the obesity epidemic in the States that medium is pretty relative.

  • Ári Brend Bech

I would very much like the mug/mugs.

  • http://unamiradadecienciaficcion.blogspot.com/ Carlos Celurian Torreblanca

You could make a spoony parody contest. Or a photo contest, or a 5 minutes Counter Monkey story contest. But most important, give something away to your Mexican fan in Mexico!!! I’ll trade you anything for a bottle of tequila!!!!

    • Petey0707

I like the Counter Monkey idea. I myself don’t have any stories but I’ve been jonesing to hear another good CM story.

      • http://unamiradadecienciaficcion.blogspot.com/ Carlos Celurian Torreblanca

It would be cool to see anyother quick CM stories by someone else as a contest to win a swag item. Or something that expands the spoonyexperiment community.

  • G Williams

You could make an art contest to illustrate your RPG characters?

  • Petey0707

I’ll gladly take those speakers off you since mine are broken ^_^, that or name a price.. I know you don’t want to be that guy, but I’ll gladly buy them off you :D

I suppose, if anything, a fair way to give everything out would be a contest, raffling or whathaveyou

  • AggroWill

I feel bummed I missed the Neverwinter and Capcom swag. However, I got an awesome floppy leather hat from Neocore for The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing. It’ll go great with my gas mask from Metro Last Light last year.

  • taylor fox

You could sell the stuff and give the money to a charity.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100003067753605 Mimmo TheConsolist

Does anybody know, why Spoony isn’t doing his Vlog-type game reviews anymore? I miss those.

    • http://twitter.com/Okanehira Okanehira

Because he thinks he has to do it all TGWTG style with pointless “comedy bits” and “Storylines” I like spoonys reviews but its an almost universal opinion that his simpler stuff just talking to the camera, or talking over footage is the best.

      • http://twitter.com/BeruserukuGX Corey Mcintyre

Dude i think you kinda alone on that one, i know a ton of people who would argue that his normal comedy reviews are a lot more entertaining than his vlogs, although i personally really enjoy both.

        • http://twitter.com/Okanehira Okanehira

“Dude i think you kinda alone on that one” sorry but no, I have seen threads and threads of people discussing spoony and other guys and its almost a 80/20 split of people that prefer the simpler videos where spoony is just being witty and funny rather than scripted out “TGWTG humour” skits.

  • KnightOfNi

I’ll take one of those mugs off your hands if Miles doesn’t want his or whatever. I think I’m within walking distances, so you wouldn’t have to do shipping or nothin’. :P

  • FordXanakov

I’d take the medium size Persona shirt as a present for my wife. If you could autograph it I could win a lot of awesome husband points :)

  • MediaGold

To quote The Cat “That’s a fearsome hat!”  Sorry to keep whining about this, but though the hat is ridiculous, you look better with it on then off.  It covers up the even more ridiculous hair!

Seriously though, I would have no compunctions in putting the stuff you don’t want up on eBay.  Look at all the money the AVGN rakes in by putting up smashed NES cartridges and chocolate stained bunny costumes.  Internet nobody Applemilk1988 got something like $1000+ for her old beat up DS.  PeaTearGryfin alone would probably spend his life savings to get that Persona T-shirt if you autographed it and included a lock of your greasy hair.  Hell, screw the shirt, he’d probably rob a bank to get a fistful of that follicle farce!

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/George-Rosenbaum/100001387887487 George Rosenbaum

You know he’s going to respond to you, right?

I really hope he gets rid of all that hair after the Loki cosplay.

      • MediaGold

Yes, he’s actually a very talented and seemingly likeable guy.  There’s actually more to him than swear words and animal scat references.  Check out his other vids too like Board James, movie reviews, and the misc videos he does like Cinemassacre 200 (a mini autobiography), Dragon of My Dreams is also very cool, and this recent video http://cinemassacre.com/2012/04/22/cinemassacre-mailbag-3/  which had me ROTFLing which is very hard for something to do to me.

        • http://www.facebook.com/people/George-Rosenbaum/100001387887487 George Rosenbaum

Oh Jesus. I don’t even want to talk about it, because it’s just good to spoil here in a comment. This is just utterly brilliant.

I don’t know if the third e-mail is genuine, earth-shattering stupidity or some kind of bizarre masterpiece of a joke. This has convinced me to make an account on Cinnemassacre immediately.

          • MediaGold

No problem!  Happy to been of help!

Oh, and that one email is a riot. I think someone tracked it down to a guy in South Korea who might have been using a translator or just had a severe lack of grip on the English language. Either way the results were hysterical!

  • http://twitter.com/Fiddlewheel fiddlewheel

that hat makes me think of old-school gameboy…

  • Michael McCrea

That’s a pretty cunning hat you’ve got there.

    • Daniel2112

Man walks down the street in that hat, people know he’s not afraid of anything.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_MFLMK5PFRIHUVPB26AYAPDDWXA Michael

I take it the Morgan Webb shrine is long gone.

  • lukaszsw

    I love DIY speakers

  • http://twitter.com/squirrelygod squirrelygod

Oh I understand how swag goes. I got a TON from 3 years worth of Comic Con. That being said, I can do a medium t-shirt.

  • Norrikan

    Crush. Kill. Destroy. Swag.
There, it had to be said.

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/KBTYE5565QKSBT4MGH6KGNCWLY Zimmad

I would just sell it. :D Some loosers like peatear or whatshisname would spend probably over 200 bucks on it.

“Swag” should have always a story attached. You know “I WAS AT E3 AND GOT THIS!!!”. If you get it from another one it looses that story. Of course “I WON IT AT SPOONYS CONTEST” would add another story, but then it looses all direct context.

  • http://twitter.com/sonoshiri Seraph~♥

I would totally dig that persona shirt

  • http://twitter.com/nnecron Necro

His mentioning of the booth babes reawakened my problem.

I feel a bit awkward when I see someone dressed as one of my favorite female anime characters because I don’t really know how their clothes are appropriate in terms of how conservative they are in real world.  Off course their hairstyle can get bizarre and too much prime colors but those aren’t my concerns.

To give an example,  there is this cloths which doesn’t reveal much except for shoulders and legs (no cleavage or belly) of the character.  She wears black pleated mini skirt and black thigh-high socks connected to her shoes.  The skirt shows 2/3rd of her thighs and the length is about 11-12 inches long.  She also wears this gray business shirt with separated  black wide sleeves (kind of like a kimono), blueish green tie, and big tall collar that hides most of her neck.  Her shirt drapes over her skirt making a loose impression.  As you can imagine she has really long legs which are longer than her torso.  According to the illustrator she is over 5 feet tall and she is really slender.

Her skirt is what really makes me wonder whether her appearance is acceptable or not.  I’m not even sure for myself.  At first glance I didn’t think the costume was provocative but I thought it was cute.  Men’s description of the word “cute” can differ from those of female though, because we are often times insensitive when we judge people’s fashion.  I think this is especially true for nerds because we are so used to fictions that our senses can be crippled.

I know I shouldn’t think too much about reality but at the same time I don’t want to sound like a perv when I say things like “I like her fashion because it’s cute”.

  • http://twitter.com/Jesseraygarza Jesse Garza

Yes I did! Thanks 4 this Spoony! Your the best man!

  • Zeithri

     I’d love that bag ^_^ It’s cute.
    And yay, Ultima XI!

    • Senna4ever

Ultima eleven, when did they make that?

Speaking of siblings, Spoony never talks about his other ones. Other than Miles. I remeber him saying he had a sister in an old review.

  • Vohaul86

Any ideas how far Spoony got with P4? I remember him giving up P3 halfway through.

For a while now “BETRAYAL” is your thing. So you might as well make a contest for people to make videos about games/movies that are complete fricking betrayal of, either the series or source material. That could be really funny and creative. Just look what the “grass” contest created.

  • http://www.facebook.com/william.singletary.75 William Singletary

    I’ll take the speakers~! That’s a decent thing to do :D

  • Josh Drignat

What about those that aren’t a medium, but are really into Persona 4 (due to your recommendation actually)?

  • http://www.facebook.com/Jericho32 John Bond

Looking forward to Ultima 9 being continued. As for the Swag, Id really love the mug =3

  • Kassie Boyd

The SpeedGamers are holding their week long Pokemon Marathon for ACT Today starting on Friday. Maybe you could donate the extra stuff as prizes for donations. :D

I know it’s not Pokemon themed, but I’m sure people would be interested in donating for stuff from E3.

  • http://slidingscales.blogspot.com/ turkishproverb@gmail.com

You should seriously host another video contest for the prizes.  Or have them as prizes in a charity drive of some sort.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000119202621 Ryan Peiffer

Wow, the DmC demo screening was full of disappointment? No shit?

  • http://www.facebook.com/Jessano Jessica Marie

Perhaps you could giveaway all your extra swag together as a grab-bag of sorts for a contest? Though it would be nice if it weren’t a video-only contest as not everyone has a webcam or the know-how to make videos. (And no I don’t care how many people see this and bitch ‘if you don’t know how to make videos, tough luck you can’t enter’ because guess what? It wouldn’t be fair to the rest of us and Noah did say he wants to be as fair as possible!)

  • http://www.facebook.com/Kay.Jay.Awesome Emily Kay Jay

I would take the t-shirt, not for myself but for my boyfriend. He’s a big Persona fan (in fact he introduced me to the series and has a ton of Persona stuff) and he loves collecting t-shirts. He would love that. So whatever way you choose to distribute the swag, count me in!

Also, the dragon hat is adorable.

  • kyle giffin
  • Steffen Sloth

    Spoony I’m surprised at you.

How can a D&D geek like you not recognise a blue dragon?

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Gabriel-Langevin/100000921051043 Gabriel Langevin

I have an idea for the swag contest, it’s a very funny one too.
Guess the number of betrayal Ultima IX will get before the end of the review.
The answer should all be given in a special forum post before the second part and the closest to the number win :3
    What do you guys think?

  • exmode

I’m totally a size medium, and so need some new t-shirts. So, I’m totally down with you offering up the extra shirt as a prize for something.  :)

for the speakers we should should dance for it

  • Jonathan Hemmila

Man, I went straight to e-bay and bought those speakers for $13, free shipping. Those are extreme for portability, esp for speakers. Let us know how they sound!
It is very honorable of you to reward fans of yourself with these swag items. Come up with a cool contest, and make people sweat!

$100…thats what that cap is going for on e-bay. You should have a contest where a person writes what they would do in “Spooning with Spoony”, where the most outrageous wins it.

    • http://twitter.com/Das_Bass Das_Bass

the fan girls would have a marathon with that.

  • http://twitter.com/Das_Bass Das_Bass

I liked the Nuka-cola bottles they did for Fallout 3

If no one else wants them i would like the speakers and the bag.

  • Aashish Sharma

Can i get the speaker and bag please? :D

  • http://twitter.com/Syndarr Alice Grunstra

I work at Perfect World, and I think that’s the same dragon beanie that was one of the prizes in the RaiderZ demo at PAX. In case you doubt its rarity, they usually set aside some swag for the people working on the game, but none of us got one of those. XD

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100002546596498 Andy Castaneda

    Do another… THE GRASS contest!

  • kekoax

I got these Oswald the Lucky Rabbit ears with my name stitched on the back at the Disney booth. They were promoting Epic Mickey 2. They don’t sell them anywhere they are E3 exclusive for now. Maybe they will start selling them in the parks later.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Matt-Flohre/538885031 Matt Flohre

Oh, so the Nyko cape looked dumb, but you got one of those ridiculous dragon hats, huh? OMG! I’m laughing too hard at that.

  • http://twitter.com/jesternario jesternario

The best thing I can think of to do as a contest for swag is to run people through an old school AD&D Meatgrinder.

  • Joel Summers

should host a video contest I agree

  • sam round

that bluetooth torch is incredibly cool and i rearly want it and the bethesda speakers are also rearly cool

  • sam round

that bluetooth torch is incredibly cool and i rearly want it and the bethesda speakers are also rearly cool i would totally buy them

    Great vid, I’d love the medium-sized P4 shirt. ^^

  • zychu2099

I agree on the “babes issue”. They used to be dressed eeehhhhh…..bitchy? By that I mean they used to look really hot, and now they’re preety much dressed. I’m all for equal rights for woman, but I do want my E3 babes ;)

honestly, you could auction them for charity. your local animal shelter is always a good start.

  • http://www.facebook.com/Airus Michal ‘Prken’ Hubka

Charity souds fine to me… at least we wont be bitching about unfairness, or something like that. So make some money and then you can present them in your awesome new hat. :) Cheers Spoony

Here is just about everything I got this year. http://twitpic.com/9tyah9/full
Things to note are the Need for Speed: Most Wanted and Injustice shirts, the Aliens Colonial Marines bandanna, and the sweet leather wide brimmed hat from Van Helsing.

  • http://www.facebook.com/tamas.szelei.5 Tamás Szelei

why don’t you do a rpg caracter contest???
write down your character with the scan of the shet and what is he/her like, and the best get the speakers

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1804443061 Derek Huey

I am a huge fan of bethesdas work, i would take the speakers and jam out while i’m in the shower, it’s hard to hear the music from the small speakers in my iphone. lol. But for a contest, you should do a questionnaire and first person to guess all the questions right, wins. But those are hard to do because of google, but maybe if you make the questions obscure enough no one would know!

I am very very interested in your medium sized Persona 4 t shirt.

    Hey Spoony,

Have you heard of the Humble Indie Bundle V?
With all this crazy E3 week and what not, this thing went under the radar.
    The description is:
“Pay what you want and get Limbo, Amnesia, Psychonauts and Sword & Sworcery while helping the Child’s Play Charity and EFF. If you beat the average (right now it’s $8.42) on the site you’ll also get Bastion, Lone Survivor, Braid, and Super Meat Boy. Plus five of the games comes with its soundtrack! The promotion won’t last forever so check it out.”
You’ll get all games with DRM free installs plus keys to download them from Steam as well. You can separate your donations between the developers, the charities and the website itself, so it can keep offering future bundles and what not.
I do not work with or for them BUT I think it’s a great cause and great games for dirt cheap. Maybe this is something that you can check out and tell your viewers about. There is only 1day and 20 something hours remaining.
The YouTube video promo: http://youtu.be/zwANFc7D1ac (Hosted by Tim Schafer) or just search for Humble Indie Bundle V
    The website is: http://www.humblebundle.com/
I apologize for posting this here, figured it was a good place to spread the word.

    Thanks for your time,
    Keep on gaming!

    FMV Hell FTW! ; )

    • Merost

Aahaha “FMV Hell”??? You havent been here in a long time I take it :D

Spoony doesnt do stupid FMV Hell videos any more! Instead we get HILARIOUS RPG livestreams, crossovers and third-party videos.

      • http://profile.yahoo.com/7OI4SXVO6EJOUAVAT7PKA5NDRE carlos

Honestly I just discovered the TheSpoonyExperiment :) through the FMV Hell series on YouTube.  This guy is hilarious. Been catching up ever since. Now I am just waiting patiently for the next part in the Ultima 9 series.

        • Merost

Yeah his FMV hell videos and Lets Plays were his best work. They are the reason 90% of us became fans.

No one knows why he doesnt do them anymore.

          • http://profile.yahoo.com/7OI4SXVO6EJOUAVAT7PKA5NDRE carlos

There are so many campy and crappy and wacky FMV games out there. Enough to keep FMV Hell going for a long while. What a shame. :(

            *Puts flame retardant suit on*

I suggest Heavy Rain for the FMV Hell video series comeback.

          • PeaTearGryfin

I don’t see Heavy Rain really fitting in with the whole FMV Hell thing. That was more or less to capture the cheesy acting of FMV games from the late 80s to mid 90s. Besides, Heavy Rain really does qualify as FMV in the traditional sense of the word.

          • http://profile.yahoo.com/7OI4SXVO6EJOUAVAT7PKA5NDRE carlos

Wait…you lost me :) You mean to say that Heavy Rain doesn’t fit into FMV Hell because it was intentionally bad? Me—> Lost

          • PeaTearGryfin

No it doesn’t fit because it really isn’t a true FMV game in that it doesn’t have live action footage of actors in it.

          • http://profile.yahoo.com/7OI4SXVO6EJOUAVAT7PKA5NDRE carlos

Aah but that’s where people forget, FMV is not live action, in fact FMV means that it relies upon pre-recorded video. True there are sections in HR that is real time, but every time the QTE sections appears (most of the game) that’s all pre-recorded.  And one of the most famous FMV games is Dragon’s Lair, which it’s all animated. Cheers :)

          • ANNONNY

It is harsh that a lot of them where just proposed and a few like Deadly Premonition where stalled randomly, yet we have like 5-6 hours of that pathfinder roleplay stuff that people really got mad about, lol.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Robbie-Meisler/502439616 Robbie Meisler

Medium sized and into Persona 4? I fit all of these categories. :D

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Robbie-Meisler/502439616 Robbie Meisler

Also, best swag memory is when I had my Fallout 3 Vault Boy hand puppet on with the Skyrim Plush Iron Helmet on his head. One guy came up to me and said, “You have two years of the best swag on one hand right now.”

  • Kyle Harder

one year, zelda gave a full replica of the master sword, i think they had less than 10 for that, that is the best swag i know of from e3

also, year before they broke e3 up, one of the publishers highered hookers for the convention because they were cheaper than models.

wish i could go to these big cons, sounds like hellish fun.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=14826834 Ericka Skinner

My vote for how to distribute the swag? Video contest of some sort. possibly related to the products (or companies) that said swag was meant to promote.

Granted, I make this suggestion as someone far too lazy to MAKE one of said videos…

Or you could, y’know, just send the bag my way. ;-)

  • Ertzi

Goddamn, I would kill for that dragon hat. I would honestly wear that in the winter when going out, because it’s such a ridiculous hat it’s actually badass like a motherfucker now.

  • valgarvx

You should totally wear the dragon hat when you play DnD.  It could be your dungeon master’s hat :D

  • http://twitter.com/thespeedyone Mia Dearden

Spoony, I think I found your twin here: http://www.sleepy-slug.com/images/macros/Darken_Rahl1.jpg .  I swear, this character from a really cheesy Fantasy series looks just like you.  Are you sure you didn’t moonlight as a tv actor for a year and a half?

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1581875831 Michael James Bowman

Oh my gosh. I know a friend who’d kill for that personna tshirt.
Wonder if I could get that and gift it to him…

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=37101365 Fraser Stewart

The Metal Gear series has become an interactive movie basically, there’s precious little actual game play. The stories have also gone way to X-Files style conspiracy for my liking.

Spoony, you’ve got to stop worrying about sounding like a pig. Knowing what a model is supposed to look like, and knowing that the general consensus that Charlize Theron is better looking that Kristen Stewart is not being a pig.

  • http://dragonacesg7.livejournal.com/profile Dragons_Dusk

that PW shirt is cool, I play Rusty Hearts with them

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000845954053 Matt Barnhart

I’m medium sized and love Persona 4. That shirt looks pretty awesome……..

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Kevin-Travis/100001864476153 Kevin Travis

My brother wears medium and Persona 4 was his favorite RPG of the previous generation, hell of the past 10 years really, since there wasn’t much of note besides Xenoblade Chronicles. Take notes on JRPG making from Atlus, Japan! Speaking of medium shirts, that’s like all they had at PAX East (for things like Borderlands 2 and Kid Icarus), which was pretty lame.

  • http://www.facebook.com/lordbejita Rob Iturriaga

I used to love the swag they would give out at Wizard World Philly, now called Comic Con Philly.  The VIP packages came with great stuff, but its all gone now.

E3 ran from June 5-7, and it is now the 16th (soon to be 17th). Whatever you put out Noah, it’s going to be stale. The whole advantage of you going to E3 was to push out the news as *fast* as you can, and hype/criticise the new hardware and games on display *that week*.

I think you tend to forget an inconvenient truth at times: the internet is your job/career.

You won’t get fired for putting in below average work, or even producing work well past deadlines, but when you consider that there are always younger, cooler, more ambitious people eager to take your place & internet traffic, I thought the fire under your ass would have felt a little hotter.

    inb4 leave Brittney alone, etc.

    • Reaki

Sadly I have to agree. I am following Noah from the times he was a rising star on Youtube and even I am getting sick of this. And before you start screaming at me, I know Spoony doesnt own me anything and I can go somewhere else and yadayada …

Can we just get some relevant content already please?

      • http://profile.yahoo.com/Q5LPDAOKRZO7QL3WODHEAVSUOU John

  • SweetTeaholic

Why not do a raffle and all the money goes to a charity of your choice (Child’s Play, St Jude, etc.). Not sure if that sounds the same as selling, but at least the money would go to a good cause.

  • SweetTeaholic

Do a raffle and all the money will go to a charity of your choice (Child’s Play, St Jude, etc). That way everyone can get a chance to win something + money goes to good cause

  • http://www.facebook.com/theontoking Liam Rooke

God I want that hat. And the mug :< Why do I live in the UK spoony, why?

That's the only swag I got from a con, won it in a Assassins Creed multiplayer tournament, it was reaaaaally tight on swag as it was held by a retailer. I'm lucky I got even that

  • IHeart28

Aw that hat is super cute! I also like that T-shirt of Metal Gear Rising.

    think it’s a Blue Dragon.

Man Neverwinter Nights is my favourite game of all time, I wonder if I can find

OMG I WANT THAT HAT! I like hats & love dragons.

    spoony has so much swag

  • Daniel Thomas Stack

It never hurts to ask. I’ve kinda been dumpster diving to get some more speakers because I have a couple old mute computers right now. I think the best way to give things out though, and most fair one would likely be to ask everyone to do a drawing entry (One per individual maximum) and have it include their E-Mail address to contact the winners. Just random drawing.

  • Jimi Steele

Got the same hat at Pax!
They said that they’d only given out 4 or 5 of them, since you had to win it from the demo.
