So Red Lantern Ultimate Warrior and The Guardian are now members of your rogues gallery. Where is the Green Lantern Core in all this?

  • Anonymous

So if I get this straight, what you’re telling us is that the ultimate warrior is so fucking out of his mind that giving him a red ring of rage make him sane? That does sound likely.

  • http://twitter.com/Pillagerguy Connor Powers

I know which joke it was that you were waiting to tell… it was really good.

  • Anonymous

Loved the Spinal Tap reference, hahaha…

  • Anonymous

I remember when all PC game boxes were that huge. Sounds like the game has a more annoying quest structure than trying to craft the Big Goron Sword.

  • Anonymous

Love this game, easily one of my all-time favorites. Pity the series went way downhill after this one.

  • Anonymous

So. I was all like, why doesn’t Spoony have any new videos recently. Then I see this and it all makes sense.
You were busy playing one of the best CRPGs of all time, Ultima 7.

  • http://twitter.com/deaconfrost20 Deacon Frost

haha epic weapon: The Hoe of Destruction. Awful enough.

  • http://the-doctor.livejournal.com/ Ed

Okay, Warrior Spoony is a perfect choice for the Red Ring, even if I wanted to see Spoony Prime wield it. ;)

This looks like an awesome game–very rich and deep! I played the first Wizardry game back in the day but never got ahold of any of the Ultima titles–it’s great seeing what I missed!

  • Anonymous

I have to wonder though. Was the time lord actually a Dr. Who reference? At the time the game was made, Dr. Who was as well known in the states and it could be that he thought he was making a subtle reference that not a lot of people would get. I find it hard to believe that someone as versed in the nerd universe as Richard Garriot would not catch a time lord reference.

The whole killing Lord British by dropping something on his head references an IRL event.

Spoooony! I did not only loved your video, but I also were amazed by your word dexterity in that really long description of the quest. Excellent!!

You’re not skipping right to Pagan are you? Because the next game in the story is Ultima Underworld 2. (Are you doing the Underworld games at all?) and then Serpent’s Isle.
Without SI there is a huge plot hole in how the Avatar gets to Pagan. So yeah.

I almost feel compelled to play this game just from your review. I say “almost” because I’m lazy and only have a laptop that has no space for anything like games. I like the inclusion of the Warrior and the red lantern ring. Is the “face paint” magic marker or something of that sort? Can’t wait to see the next update, or rather I don’t want to wait for the next update. It’s not like I have the means to avoid waiting for things, otherwise I’d be traveling to every Wednesday the latest releases of comic books.

  • http://twitter.com/Zanza47 Michael St.Clair

    Awesome!
Out of curiosity, which joke was the one you’ve been wanting to tell? There were several great ones, so it’s kind of hard to tell. Maybe I’m just embarrassingly uncultured in the ways of the nerd?

  • Anonymous

Does the Guardian and The Ultimate Spoony have anything to do with the Linkara saga going on right now?

  • Anonymous

Okay I’m going to stop watching the video to post this comment right now before I forget:

You said during the TGWTG panel that this joke you were so excited about making for this video involved the box… so I’m going to have to assume the joke was the Spinal Tap quote.

In which case I facepalm so hard my nails actually claw off a layer of epidermis, sir.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Alexander-Caligiuri/1337182793 Alexander Caligiuri

I agree with your prediction. I am left thinking “That’s it?” for your ‘awesome joke’.
Also, the Avatar floating head looks like Malibu.
Great review. Some questions though. Red Lantern Warrior, Yellow Lantern Gate Keeper, what’s next?
Given what I have heard about the Indigo Tribe, Insano would get a ring… but I want him to be Agent Orange.
Now what ring would you give yourself?
Hmm…. I’m thinking either vanilla! Green or underpowered! Blue.

And so the Harpy Immune to Magic Weapons goes ignored. It’s really only a bitch because the player likely drops normal weapons in favor of magic.

By the way, you should add an Magic Weapon Immune monster to the D&D campaign. I’m sure the others will love it.

Post-watching-whole-video comment: Game looks pretty awesome. Immersive and complex as usual.

I’m left wondering, though, why exactly the Ultimate Warrior first went “kuwabara kuwabara”? Is he a fan of Metal Gear Solid 3 or is he just trying to keep lightning from striking him? (Or does he think he’s talking to a mulberry tree? Because I wouldn’t put it past him.)

Now I’m curious, does anybody think this dark conqueror that can travel through worlds that wants to capture earth have anything to do with Linkara’s plot with Vyse trying to stop the dark evil?

    • Anonymous

Maybe, but I personally like to think it’s that there’s just a ton of evil shit always trying to kill someone somewhere in the “reviewer universe”. I mean over in Apollo Z. Hack’s videos there’s going to be a whole apocalypse thing threatening to reboot the universe unconnected to Vyce… just a common everyday thing going on for these people.

Oh, man, I loved this game when I was a kid. I got it in a special edition that included Serpent Isle and the add-ons and played the hell out of them. I loved the way this game had so much you could do and was nothing like the NES RPGs I’d been playing up until that point. I guess these days this would be considered “open world.” No RPG I’ve played since has ever really lived up to Ultima VII. Oddly, I never played any other Ultima games.

I’ve really been loving the Ultima videos and this one remedies the only real complaint I had with the previous ones, and that was them being too short. Since I know so little of Ultima, I enjoy how informative they are and for nearly every video, I always wished it went on a bit longer so I could see more of each game, so when I saw this one was 20+ minutes long, I was happier than normal to see an Ultima video!

And I love Spoony’s admiration of the box. He really looks like he’s found a spiritual completion as he gazes into it. I don’t know what it is, but there is something just so beautifully simplistic and almost mystical with that box, like it’s this powerful idol of pure Darkness! That’s something I’d have on open display as decor around the house.

And how odd is that, when not only the game stands out so much (and this was years before Diablo, and one year before Doom, so that kind of blood & nudity was out of the ordinary!), but even the box gets your attention and draws you in. In fact, it almost calls to me…

    …GIVE ME THE BOX!

Guardian is right to laugh off Warrior’s fear. Hogan would need 5 regeneration rings and about 20 pounds of phoenix downs to get the boot up anymore, let alone run wild on the elder god of L. Ron Hubbard

That has to be one of the longest quest chains ever. The bit about being able to do bad things reminds me of two other games. RtZ, where I first found out that moving booze Miller was the way to proceed BY KILLING HIM! And the nuke spell in QfGV. That spell can get you an alternate ending if done after the dragon is mortal but before it flies off.

This is the first Ultima I played.

And sadly, the only thing I remember about it nowadays is braking it. I played hours and hours and than somehow halfway through the game managed to access some part that shouldn’t be accessed at that particular time but only much later. I didn’t realize it and continued to play, merrily overwriting all my saved games, and only later realized that this has somehow broke the game and made it unfinishable.

I never got to replaying it. Perhaps now, 20-something years later, is the right time.. :)

Awesome review for an awesome game. I just think you should have mentioned the interactivity with NPCs and objects in this game, which no other RPG released in 1992/1993 – 2011 have. I was expecting some bread baking joke, since you can get a job at Britannia’s Bakery. It blew my mind away back then.

For people interested on this game, I recommend playing with Exult, an engine remake made by fans. It adds support for high resolutions, sprite filters, smooth scrolling, better interface, etc. http://exult.sourceforge.net/download.php

Good review, but like others, I expected you to work in the full on interactivity of Ultima VII. Not to mention how every character has something to say, and is actually going to bed, going to work, etc.; being actual people as opposed to quest dispensers.

Also: Ultima Underworld 1/2? I believe the first came out after VII but before Part 2, but plays between VI and VII. Ultima Underworld 2, I believe, came out after Part 2, but plays in between VII and VII part 2. And part two is part of the Age of Armageddon, including the Guardian and another one of his schemes. It would work really well to put them in chronological order of game time.

Once again the Genius storytelling of the Spoontastic one comes out and we now have a Red lantern. Which makes the Gatekeeper, Chuckles the wonderrape clown, Black Lantern spoony possibly and now Da Ultimate Warrior, I wonder if we will see the villian from Battlefield earth take up the Orange lantern ring. As much fun as it is to see you just completely rage on a movie or video game, it’s always great to see you review something you like, and even geek out a little over it. You’ve made these games look really good – even the insanely goofy moments in them.

And Ultimate Warrior as a Red Lantern? That makes way too much sense. Not sure how Atrocitus is going to handle so much Destrucity in his corps.

Well, Ultima7 has Exult, an emulator written specifically for the Ultima7 engine.

Is that the reason why some of the screens show an inventory screen like in “Ultima VII Part 2: The Serpent Isle”? Because when I remember correctly, the inventory screen was not a “action puppet”. It was a static image of the character and lines indicated, which item was put where…

        • Anonymous

Indeed, they even updated the paperdolls from U7-2 with graphics for all items unique to U7-1. They also added some stuff, amongst the most useful to a hardcore fan of U7 is the option of way harder combat, with the ability to pause and give orders to your party, much akin (but really, still not the same) to RPGs like Baldur’s Gate.

The engine even comes with a (still unfinished) development platform for Ultima7-like games, and there are some new mods for both The Black Gate and Serpent Isle.

    • Anonymous

Sure you can play them on modern operating systems, through Exult or DosBox.

The SNES version stops the intro short of the Guardian’s villainous laughter (Mainly because it doesn’t have enough memory for extensive-at the time-voice acting), so it maintains some of the ambiguity. Not much, though, and the controls insanely and foolishly try to shove the interface into a Super NES controller, and the result’s not pretty. Really, why did they think they could do this?

I got Ultima 7 for Christmas but my computer only had 4 megs of ram, so I couldn’t play it. Talk about a letdown…

After a while my dad upgraded our computer to 8 megs and I could *finally* play it. My little mind was blown away. My dad was watching me play it and I had just left Trinsic. I was walking past a wooded area and a deer that was hiding behind a tree ran across the screen. I’m not sure if my dad or myself was more surprised.

By the way, what did you use to play the game? Exult, or DosBox… or something else?

    Well, great review!

Someone should tell the Guardian not to wear water wings around his neck. I live in the land of no water and I know that. He can barely keep his chin out of the pool.

What’s with that pulsating blue testicle next to the mouse at 5:55?

The Guardian wants to create Oblivion! Is he the founder of Bethesda Softworks?

That dude banging on his computer monitor must be the same guy who returned the NES after “his kids got to it” (yeah, the kids he usually drops off at the pool).

At 8:17 the game tells you what happened: “job, murder, bye, fellowship, Ellen”
Murder job was by fellowship member Ellen!

WATCH OUT, THE GUARDIAN IS COMING THROUGH THE MONOLITH! His evil plan is really to teach monkeys how to break things through the power of clumsy anger.

I Chuckles making a Gene Simmons face?

You have to create the Obsidian Sword in what appears to be the Anus of Fire.

Make sure not to think in your own mouth when you blow your own mind.

How the fuck can they make quests so complicated? Seems like a fun game but Christ.

    • Anonymous

That was was the idea behind alot of adventure games back in the day: make the task sound simple, but then turn it into the 12 labors of Heracles when the player wasn’t looking.

Though given how short games are now, only now do I appreciate that kind of epic scope.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_KQT6O3OWCK5H672OV4RCG6RL5Y Kensan O

By the time you started playing Ultima VII, you were trained in note taking. The quests are only about three times longer then they are in Ultima V, and about one and a half longer then in Ultima VI. If you didn’t have a spiral notebook full of every conversation you were having in the game, and notes on where you were going and what you were doing, you probably were using a clue book… and sometimes, you were doing BOTH.

Ultima isn’t the worse when it comes to this kind of adventure. Try some of the Infocom games if you want to blow your mind on the level of note keeping you had to do.

(And it was hard to find but we somehow got it in AUSTRALIA? WTF.)

And no wonder my sister and I couldn’t finish it – the latter part of your review gave me flashbacks to how lost we got with the goddamn quests. But I really hope you do Savage Empire, it’s like nostalgic heaven for me!

Aww… was there no way you could have mentioned that if you died, the game taunted you? Poor Avatar. Poor, Poor A-Ve-tar. Mwhahahaha! That was like the thing that drove me to go SO FAR into the game until we hit the bug that made the game unwinable.

Still, it was a lot of fun. Not as much fun as Ultima V, but it was a lot of fun.

I never beat this game as a child, but this and Ultima Underworld 2: The Stygian Abyss are my earliest memories of playing RPGs. They were too complex for me when I discovered them. Oh, the reason that your companions, including Lord British, survived the 200 years, (and not other people), is because they are from other worlds as well. Some, like Lord British, is even from Earth. They have thus taken a bit of their own universe’ time flow with them, and get to live longer on Britannia. But not as long as if they had been in their own world, notice how your companions have aged, especially Iolo, while you the Avatar have not. (Of course, despite living longer in an absolute outside multiverse perspective, it would have been a lot shorter in relative terms – living multiple decades versus living multiple centuries. Time hurts my brain…)

Another fun Wing Commander reference in Ultima Games.

In Ultima Underworld 2 you encounter these psychic tiger type creatures who refer to themselves as the “Trilkhai”. They want to learn about what their history was so you have to speak to the wisps to get it. They tell you that the Trilkhai used to fly through space and shoot fireballs.

Bonus points since Trilkhai is an anagram of Kilrathi.

Okay, explaining the insanely complex quest for the Time Lord? Both hilarious and completely and utterly awesome!

I remember my older cousins playing Ultima 5 or 6 when I was just a small child, and being utterly jealous that A) I wasn’t allowed to play it, and B) my computer was one of the first iteration of macs (for those of you who remember the macs from the early ’90s, you know my pain). And then Ultima 7 came out and none of us was allowed to play it, because the content was too violent. However, having seen this I am incredibly tempted to find a copy.

This was a brilliant review, with sharp insight and analysis while being funny enough to give me a headache from laughing too much (which was an entirely new experience for me… and one I’m intensely trying to forget). It has been a very bright highlight in a week that hasn’t been the most forgiving for me health-wise (I’m starting to suspect that some of my organs are having secret councils and conspiring against me… it’s a good thing I’m not a paranoid conspiracy theorist), so thankyou for both the review and its timely release.

    • Anonymous

You too? Darn, all the forums I visit seem to have people that have gotten violently ill this week. I’m beginning to see a pattern.

    • Anonymous

I brought the ultima collection and Underworld 1 and 2 on e-bay.

The seller had also made a special program that runs the game on vista and xp using dosbox, so all you need to do is run the setup program and it does it for you.

the manuals are all on the cd’s and I have found no problems so far in any of the games.

Get these games, they are a delightfull blast to the past, plus they’re just plain damn fun to play!

      • Anonymous

That’s actually a really good idea. If I can get a copy that runs off vista without too many problems I’ll probably be okay. The real issue is that my laptop is getting very worn around the edges and has a horrible habit of completely crashing if it feels like it. Ah well, I have to upgrade at some point in the next two months anyway…

Heh this was the first game i ever played.
I was 5 years old and me being finnish i remember figuring out what the hell was going on was huge task and i was asking constantly my parents to translate the text.
I did not get far in the game, but the Ultima name has stucked in my mind since then and i was actually just couple of months ago visiting my parents looking if the box was still somewhere, unfortunately could not find it.

you should play Diablo 1.. it is close to satanic as a pc game can be (in my oppinion) it has dark storylines and enemys. the sequel diablo 2 is a good game but it lacks what the first one had… Diablo 3 is comming out and it would be a great vid if you review them.

    • Anonymous

Did Diablo 1 have a storyline? If I recall correctly, D1 was about a guy going to kill Satan through some randomly-generated dungeons filled with monsters and loot. That’s only about the level of “storyline” seen in the average Mario game.

      • http://www.facebook.com/people/John-Lee/100002126679163 John Lee

The story is that Diablo and his brothers came to the earth to unleash evil across the land. Many people tend to cut the cinamatics and many other scenes that gives you the part of the main story and just do quest. If you play it while listening to all the quest and watching cinamatics you will be surprised to find a pretty decent story. mario is just princess is captured and you have to rescue her.. but Diablo (well first one) is that he was originally locked in a tomb but found a way to take over another person’s body. and that was a king’s son, since he was binded by the horadric(kinda like seven mages in Zelda) he couldn’t possess strong person but weak like a teen or woman.
as you do quest and finding books in dungeons you will find back story of how the diablo and his brothers came to be and many other information that goes well with the story. YES it is about killing Satan and is done but you don’t kill him… because in the first one they didn’t know HOW to kill him(diablo 2 explains that soul stone must be destroyed). In the end hero sticks diablo’s soul stone on his head to bind diablo onto his body and you see the trailer for the next game(diablo inside hero is getting stronger)

        • Anonymous

That’s *backstory*, not storyline. Storyline is what happens to you and other characters while you’re playing a game. Backstory is, well, backstory. Stuff that happened before.

Backstory is easily the laziest form of “storytelling” in videogames. It’s basically shipping a companion novel with a game, except that you have to find it during the game.

Though to be fair, it’s better than the not-story that Torchlight had. So that’s something.

Great review! But I don’t remember it being so obvious at the beginning of Ultima 7 that the Guardian and The Fellowship are connected. Your first hint is the “passion play” that those Fellowship actors are putting on outside of Trinsic where they use the words “companion,” “provider,” and “master,” which are the words the Guardian says at the end of his speech in the intro. But the connection is readily apparent until later in the game, from what I remember. I could be wrong though.

The Ultima games, ever Since U4, have ALWAYS been about ethics. Just because you CAN do something doesn’t mean you should. But the game designers give you the option anyway because they want you to make that choice for yourself. That is why you can rob every house, defraud every merchant and ruthlessly kill (nearly) every NPC, either manually or with the Armageddon spell, thereby wrecking the game. But: You can also bake bread with the baker, turn wheat into flour, pick pumpkins, settle civil disputes and relationship issues, and generally be a good samaritan around Britannia. None of these things are integral to the plot but they all define what kind of character you choose to be, which is the essence of role-playing.

Instead of having your behavior defined by your alignment like in D&D, instead your character is defined by his actions — how he treats others, how he interacts with the game world, and how he solves quests (there is more than one way to solve many of them, not all of which are ethical). You can be an asshole or a thief, a murderous psychopath or a saint. The game world will respond positively or negatively to your actions (there are consequences to nearly everything you do), and this is the point the Ultima games are making in the first place.

I’m surprised you haven’t figured this out yet, Spoony.

    • Anonymous

But it breaks the game. In a game like D&D, you can shift the game to be about the aftermath of your evil bloodthirsty rampage. In a videogame, if you go too far thats it game over.

Yes but that’s always going to be the great advantage of P&P RPGs over Video Game RPGs: adaptability.

In the end, all video games can only go so far and can only respond to a set number of actions and events. The human imagination has no such boundaries. As CS Lewis once said: “It is the mind which is endless, an arena for our soul to soar”.

See, this is why I am such a hardcore Tabletop gaming fan.

        • murrogashinji

For now at least. With the whole emphasis on player created items and storylines, like in the Elder Scrolls Series, we may one day have a visual medium that can adapt to any situation or game style, given enough time and effort.

The only thing that breaks the game is killing everyone on the planet… or at the very least, NPCs integral to the main plot (they number less than 1% of total game denizens). Just because the temptation is available does not mean that it’s preferable. If it takes killing everyone on the planet to realize killing everyone on the planet is wrong and the price you pay for unleashing such evil is a broken game so you have to start over…… then the ethics have done their job. Start a new game, play it properly like an actual hero, and try not to be such a dick.

This is the message Ultima teaches us, and it’s something Richard Garriott has felt strongly about ever since parents groups complained that the gameplay of Ultima III (which required killing whole towns full of people over and over again to advance in level, to say nothing of the game’s demonic box art) was giving users the wrong impression. This was the impetus that led to the moralistic Ultima IV and the groundbreaking Age of Virtue games that followed.

(besides, I’ve had more than a few DMs kill off my character just for spite. At least CRPG logic is consistent with your actions)

A classic game ! I used to put barrels on the carpet so I could loot as much as I wanted, and carry back the dead home. I also used to murder the Mint cashier in order to get the mint’s backdoor keys where lots of gold was just lying there. I’d then ask Lord British to resurrect the cashier and have her change the gold bars into coins so I could spend them. Ah, sweet memories. Did only finish it once, though, but boy did i have fun !

I dont know why but I had to watch this review twice. I think I need to watch it again… I feel like im missing something here… I might end up watching this review over 4 times..

“You can kill the shit out him!” I loved that part. It was so heartfelt. :)

If you thought Chuckle’s game was bad, it got worse in the German translation. It was completely impossible to understand the rules of the game. Any rule and systematic was completely lost in translation. It was only years later when I played the original English version which came with the U7+U7-2 collector’s edition, that I understood that it was non-random.

Up to that point I thought Chuckle’s “game” was just him being an ass, and thought it was supposed to be completely random.

I so want an audio file of “There can be only one, you immortal fuck!”  If you ever let us download audio drops for a fee, Spoony please do that one.
Would so love to donate for sound files vs. pics :D

anyone think it would have been better if the fellowship were the ones who are meant to kill the guardian but he tricks the avatar that they are the bad guys wink wink

Soooo you DID fight the “headless,” from Underworld: The Stygian Abyss, in a previous Ultima game, 11:08?

While I am watching this, I see a gog.com advertisment for Phantasmagoria.

Just wanted to say that. Thought it was a cool coincidence.

  • Toothy DeerMan

Took me a while, but I noticed 0:04 you have Persona 4 in awesome games..

Spoony, you have been promoted from God of Awesome to Epic God of Awesome.

  • kle4

I love the extra emphasis on the line about confronting Batlin with his lies. Bad enough we already know he’s a villain, the guy lied right to our faces!

Dude, you said yourself, the Worlds of Ultima games are free on GOG, now you’ve got no excuse not to play them.

  • S B

I just realised how much the Guardian looks like Red from the NES Godzilla Creepypasta…

    • Garmrspor

      Yeah… no. Not particularly similar.

Thanks for showing me that though. Interesting stuff… for awhile. Story was hard to take seriously. But lots of dedication! I enjoyed seeing all of his sprite work.

    THE HOE OF DESTRUCTION!

At about 3:27-30 The audio seems to skip and the Guardian appears to say “Know” twice. I dont remember that occuring when the review first came out…

I had to figure out how to upgrade and eventually build a computer myself. I even melted down a motherboard once. The smell was amazing.

  • aaron cooper

I have only played one game where you see a child die on screen, Mother 3. And while there is no blood, in theory, it is quite graphic.

  • Daniel Tilson

Your companions, Lord British, and probably a few others (possibly Chuckles..) Are from other worlds just like you. That’s why they’re still alive.

  • Miguel Angel Castro

I played this Game on Snes and a lot of stuff was taken out. There are no Companions,Spells are completely different and above all there’s a bug where you can repetitively claim quest rewards

    • james smith

      no just everything

      • Miguel Angel Castro

It’s a good thing I bought the pc game recently :P

        • james smith

there are only three thing that are the same between the two games, sprites, characters, and story.

          • Miguel Angel Castro

With some content edited. For example The Avatar is investigating “Disappearances” not “Murders”

          • james smith

Yeah they wanted to keep their “family friendly” image.

          • Miguel Angel Castro

There also is a bug where the Avatar can repetitively claim quest rewards

          • james smith

it really isn’t to bad but it could have been a lot better

  • james smith

his is my favorite ultima game and my favorite game altogether

  • Rude

Savage Empire is now avalible for free on GoG so you can do your review on it:)

  • wizzbang

To be fair, the sword actually says it can’t kill Batlin because Batlin’s protected by a power even greater than the sword — ie: the Guardian.

    • SUPERSOUP

So why doesn’t he protect his other minions so that they can kill your ass? What Spoony said is basically right.

  • wizzbang

I still don’t understand why the Chuckles stinger was removed, but this stinger was kept in…

    • Daniel Tilson

The Chuckles stinger was removed due to Oreo eating the Costume, negating any possibility of continuing the chuckles plot, while the Ultimate warrior costume not only survived the puppy eats everything stage, but has been upgraded several times.

  • William Jeremiah Bumgarner

I love that Spoony used the music from the sim mode of ActRaiser for this. That was another classic game I dearly loved that, sadly, did not get a sequel as good as Ultima.

  • fireball3477

I still think this is the BEST RPG EVAR.

  • theforetoldlegend

Just wondering, but are you going to finish Deadly Premonition?

    • http://kyleharrison.ca/ Kyle Harrison

he said that he doesn’t want to finish DP because he’s bored with it haha

  • kensu

Re: the Kilrathi crossover. If you’ve ever looked at the Serpent Isle map, there’s an island off the coast that you never visit which is called either Claw Isle or Cat Isle. Back during the development phase, that island was supposed to have a crashed Kilrathi fighter on it, and a village whose people worshipped the pilot as a god. I’m so pissed that got cut! They ended up using the Kilrathi sprite for one of the npcs you meet in the SIlver Seed add-on.
