Bad Call TV – Creature Feature

The Spoony One | Jan 17 2013 | more notation(s) |

A Bad Call TV comedy short of science, a rather crippling lack of foresight, and science.

Bad Call TV YouTube Channel:

  • Lina Jones

Heh. Squid. Now there’s a creature for the DnD campaign! ;)

  • Pétur Ingi Sigbjörnsson

Well I think i had that random encounter on a ship in Ravenloft.

  • Holden Caulfeild

That was funny, and i might check out their channel, but…

(incoming criticism of Spoony. turn away if you are not prepared)

Why is it here? on this site? if you wanted to promote it, why not just use you’re twitter? you’ve got a lot of followers there, so it would definitely help this get views.

I dunno, it just feels like you posted this because you’re low on actual content right now. Which, i’m not really even criticizing; you gave us a reason why its taking so long, so i’m not mad. A little antsy, but not mad.

What i’m getting at is i would’ve rather seen “Just a quick update” with you in front of the camera (or just a text post) telling us what’s going on, rather than a quick, two minute video you didn’t seem to contribute with creating (Forgive me if i’m wrong, i didn’t see your name in the credits)

Anyway, cool vid. I’ll check out the channel.

…i don’t know why that registered as some kind of hyperlink, or whatever that is. i guess it was because i used “”. I will not do that in the future.

    • septimar

Twitter for promotion is a bit problematic. It’s a fleeting medium, many people don’t look up past tweets. Promotion on his web site makes more sense.

  • Frank Gwin

Still love you Spoony, even if it takes a while for new videos :)

  • Gregory Bogosian

The joke is too predictable. Comedy is based on surprise and this video has no surprise.

    • LotusPrince

Their first video was something of a surprise, but once you know their style, it’s more of an interesting look at different bad calls, rather than “oh, shit, that was unexpected.” They’re covering historical events, after all.

      • Gregory Bogosian

I know that their gimmick is pointing out bad decisions, but when the bad decision that they are pointing out is so blindingly obvious, it is more likely to insult the audience’s intelligence than it is to make them laugh. I am assuming that the central appeal of these videos is comedy.

        • LotusPrince

Yeah, honestly, I prefer the less obvious ones, myself, such as examples of historical events that may not be very famous. We can call certain instances such as “Ha ha, Bill Gates, we won’t hire you” a mile away.

  • PeaTearGryfin

Well… It was better than the other episodes. I know that is about the weakest compliment I can give, but at least this one didn’t feel the need to explain the joke. The joke was utterly predictable, but at least it wasn’t spelled out to us like the audience is full of morons.

    • MasWasTaken

No. It was spelled right the fuck out.
“Look at the terrifying monster we just made. I hope it doesn’t escape from this facility at that needlessly specific location which we will tediously explain how it was built on the cheap by an incompetent.”
“Oh crap, it did that thing we telegraphed to hell and back.”

  • Randall Bohannan

    LOL! best party EVA!!! :)

  • Patrick Sewell

    ……..(‘(…´…´…. ¯~/’…’)
    ……….”…………. _.·´

  • Jacob Freedman

Paper-cut-out style Flash animation… Congrats, Spoony! You found one of my biggest pet peeves.

  • Daniel Faas

C’mon guys! This is NOT about Spoony not uploading in a week, this is about Spoony legitimately liking a start-up channel! Spoony likes it, he wants to share it with his fans, and he wants to generate traffic for the thing he likes! That is why it is featured here. The “Bad Call” guys are just about the most sarcastic thing you can find on legitimately tragic decisions, and that appeals to Spoony’s sense of humor as well as my own. Spoony wants more people to know about it, so he shows people on his own website, simple as that.

    • Erebus_Locke

He got money for it. Already confirmed in the last upload.

      …simple as that indeed.;)

    • rainyvancouver

Bad Call Productions donated to him, thats why we see these unfunny turds here.

EDIT: Someone else already posted it.

  • Spectr

“Fuck massive shitstorm in the comment section ’cause I dont put out enough videos….Ah lets give them another “Bad Call”, those are massivly popular!”

…speaking about “Bad Calls” here ;)

    • Bluestreak

      Gold :D

  • Michos

…Yep, definitely looks like an Asylum movie.

  • Mo0rbid

It’s not funny if you basically spell out the joke :/

  • Erik Kowalsky

Bad Call? More like Bad Humor. This shit just isn’t funny in the slightest.

  • Joshua D’souza

Sorry, but even a five year old would find this predictable. Or maybe I’m missing something.

  • Simon Windmeier

These guys seem to to have a LOT of money behind them, judging by the amount of advertisement floating around geek sites. Shame they don’t seem capable of backing it up, I’ve watched a couple of their videos and they’re not that funny (especially when compared to youtube shows that got big on their own).

Might just be my paranoia, but it looks like someone is trying way too hard to fabricate the next big thing.

  • Screwtapes_Muse

No jokes. White texts on grey pictures. Racist imitation-japanese accent. Absolute car crash.

    • Screwtapes_Muse

Oh hang on, that was regarding the one on their youtube channel frontpage. The one posted by Spoony is somehow even worse

  • L1nk1

    Not funny.

  • Triple M

Sorry, but this series is fucking horrible, please just stop posting that garbage. Imagine somebody new visiting the site who’s not that familiar with Spoony yet and basing their first impression on THAT. Do you really think he’s ever coming back?

  • Baló Timár

I know they probably donated to you, so it’s only fair to give them a shout-out. But you did that before. Twice. Posting more of this is a kiss of death to the site.

  • Sioraf As Killeens

The Nostalgia Critic peaked 2 years ago. With these talentless feckers there’s no peak to reach.
