SUPAH SWING SYSTEM.

    Wohoo! RoboCop is back! :D

  • Anonymous

Is it just me or does this advert have a pretty cool music loop on it?

    • Anonymous

The first bit of music is from the opening of Pink Floyds’ Yet Another Movie (from the album A Momentary Lapse Of Reason), the music from when the TV sets down and onward is out of The Alan Parsons Projects’ Standing on Higher Ground (from the album Gaudi). Both albums were released in 1987.

Yes I listen to alot of Progressive Rock. :)

I dont get it. Ok Robocop has become the thing that his movie parodies but the humour is lost on me.

    • Anonymous

      I don’t either. Maybe I’m being a little dense, but…?

  • http://twitter.com/CedarMusketeer Bryan Gardner

I don’t know about you, but I want that TV, it has a built in Surround Sound system that flips out the sides, that’s just awesome.

    • Anonymous

See if you could find a version that’s installable on the inner roof of a car that flips down with flip out surround sound system, then put it in the Delorean, integrate a PS3 somewhere, then play the Back to the Future Downloadable games while in the Delorean.

We’ll be there to clean up the brain bits from your blown mind in about five to ten minutes once you’re done.

Okay, what’s the deal with Robocop and Japanese commercials? Was he on loan to Sony or something?

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Blair-Price/701320214 Blair Price

This one is Korean actually ;)
Can tell by the writing. Koreans use an alphabet instead of the syllabary/logo graphic combination mess that is Japanese.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_FWGLPUAYMWVSCG2TOV6EPRXRWM Henry C

you cant tell the difference between Koreans and Japanese? Racist!

OK, so the rights to use the image of Robocop in commercials were apparantly loaned out to various corporations in Asia. Sorry, but I just don’t find that in of itself particularly interesting or humorous (even if some of his earlier commercials posted here were at least kinda goofy)

I am sorry man but if I have to watch a 30 second commercial of glee (thats more than I ever want to see that show) only to watch a 60 second commercial of robo cop.

    • http://bwmedia.wordpress.com/ ShadowWing Tronix

What if Robocop guest-starred on Glee?

  • Anonymous

    I read the directive itself.

And I tried to see the relation to the video.

    And I failed.

    I’m confused.

It’s like Robocop heard about the “metal hero” genre of superheroes in Japan as is on a one-cyborg mission to bring it back.

    LOLWUT?

What kind of prime directive is that Spoony? Did you make that up, or were you reading all the additional prime directives from Robocop 3? If the latter is the case, I pronounce you “super-nerd” of the internet!

  • PandaBrawler

    Korean Robocop returns!

  • http://twitter.com/CedarMusketeer Bryan Gardner

I want one of these Goldstar Merical Alpha TVs, but I guess they are so out dated they no longer exist. the idea of a TV with a built in surround sound system in it is awesome. Though what does this have to do with Robocop?

    • Anonymous

He’s high tech, a mass-produced tv with fold-out speakers was “high tech” in 1986 – WHAM! RoboCop in a Lucky Goldstar ad.

  • Anonymous

    What the fuck was that?

Seriously, I know full well what it was – BUT WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT!?

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Bill-Collignon/100000084787504 Bill Collignon

The Alan Parson’s Project music for the win!

    Standing On Higher Ground.

Noah, we know you’re sick and stuff, but come on. This is just lazy. I don’t know how he can even get away with this legally in terms of blip.tv copyright. Give us a vlog or something, at last that’s entertaining instead of just sad.

    • http://www.facebook.com/Bentley2210 Paul Bentley

FFX Part 4 would be nice.

    • http://celluloidandsilicon.blogspot.com/ Avenging_Mike

Christ, commentors on TSE can be some of the most obnoxious, self-centered, spoiled, whiny, pathetic bitches ever to grace the internet. When you’re making 4chan look dignified, you’re certainly doing something special. I have no idea how someone as funny as Spoony attracted such morons. I would have thought most of his content would have been over your head.

Fuck. “I know you’re sick, and people have been bitching about getting new content, but we wanted something that’d take you hours to do under normal circumstances!”

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1218524780 Doug Hancox

Hey now, I seriously take offense to that. If Spoony is sick, he should just stay sick and concentrate on getting better. If he’s healthy enough to edit videos like this together, he should put effort forth into making them something entertaining. As it stands, he did NOTHING TO THESE VIDEOS! He found them on a website of old weird commercials and put his own branding on them. At least with the fried chicken one he had the weird subtitles, but these videos are completely unedited, which means he’s taking credit for someone else’s work, and that’s lazy. I’m not asking him to make another FFX review or another Nightmare FMV Hell when he’s in pain, but I think his fans deserve to be treated better than “Here’s something I found on the internet, watch it on my blip account so I get money for it instead of simply linking you to where I found it.”

Not to mention the fact that we’re forced to watch a PAINFULLY boring and overly LONG JP Morgan Chase commercial for a 50-second video. Dammit blip, I never thought I’d say this, but bring back the Tech Talk guys!

      • http://www.facebook.com/Bentley2210 Paul Bentley

I see where you’re comming from, but at the same time the fans are awaiting another video. Personally I wasn’t that interested in the Grass Battle comp, so for me, it has been a while since a “new” video has been released. Hell, I’d even listen to him go on about WWE and wrestling (not my thing). But it does feel like quite a while since we’ve heard anything from him.

      • http://twitter.com/xxDrCrackbone Matt

I’ve been reading your comments, and you’re a fucking reactionary asshole. I’m starting to think you’re a troll. So I suggest you back off. Yes, its not nice to bitch at Spoony while he’s sick, but you’re just overacting to the most benign comments.

    • Anonymous

As far as the copyright issues go, I very much doubt the commercials themselves are copyright legal. Asian countries had a nasty tendency of pretending international copyrights didn’t exist in the 80′s and early 90′s so I doubt the images of Robocop are being used legally or with permission from the creators, period.

That said, depending on what he is sick with, a vlog might not even be possible. Noah is a lithe guy and seems to get a lot of lung and upper respiratory issues so if he has something like pneumonia or the like it very well could be literally impossible for him to speak or do much outside of filler stuff for the time being. If I missed the memo and everyone but me knows what he is sick with then disregard that, I must have missed the vlog explaining it. For all we know it could be serious and you might consider that, is all I am saying. At least until proven otherwise.

    • Anonymous

I’m not one to complain about free entertainment in any form, Spoony could shut down his website tomorrow and I’d have nothing but good things to say about him.

It does seem like Spoony is sick a lot, and for long periods of time. If I was him I’d be concerned about that, it’s not normal for an adult to get sick that often – most people I know are only really sick for a few days a year at most. Personally I can’t even remember the last time I was sick, has to have been like 2-3 years.

Anyway I hope it’s not anything serious, as regular illness is the first sign of some kind of overlying problem compromising your immune system.

On a side note – I’d kill for a 40 minute rant on FF14, cmon Spoony you know you wanna shell out the cash for that turd just for material.

Oh, hey, look! An LG commercial from before they were LG and were Lucky Goldstar.

So… is this directive the reason Robocop’s not going to be on Dancing with the Stars?
