Part 3 of 3.
Awesome, and super funny
hope there will be a bridged version
Nicely done! And I like teaming of Spoony and Pat. Some people have complained but I think it works very well.
Awesome. Now another 3 videos replacing the name Connor with Raiden!
That was great Spoony. You and Pat make a good team. Would love it if you did a commentary for this.
Yeah, a commentary would be great.
The sad part is that in blurb about Endgame I read said that Kell didn’t hate Connor for killing his father just killing him and having his father and clan reject him. Then after wandering in the wilderness for years, it was the Kergan who found and trained/hunted/taught Kell the rules and how to use his hate as weapon.
But sadly this turned out to be all lies sweet sweet lies.
God I forgot how horrible this movie was. I think on a story standpoint, it’s *not* as bad as Quickening because, y’know…Zeist. But this is one of the few movies out there where I think I could do better, and I’m a nobody with no talent.
good review, The only thing is I found Pat’s voice annoying after this 45 minute review.
Imagine having to live with it.
Yeah I know what’s it’s like to listen to your own voice, it sounds like the worst thing you ever heard [I’ve cringed many times listening to my own voice].
And it doesn’t help that I’m dyslectic when I type [this is the 3rd time I fucked up my username it’s supposed to be sputnix not sptunix :P]
OMG! That was a great series of reviews. I’ve only seen the first Highlander movie, though. Dad decided to have me watch it because it was a good movie.
Spoony, I love you and what you do. However Pat made this review almost unwatchable.
I wish you the best with your health.
Spoony does a review with me and then his health takes a turn for the worse. Do you think that’s simply a coincidence, or some sort of extreme allergic reaction?
You’re killing our boy, Pat! Damn you!
*cough cough hack* Damn, that one hurt the old pipes a bit…*kak*
I take it this movie acts like the second movie never existed?
You know, since it wasn’t in the future and all.
All the movies act like the 2nd movie never existed. As did the TV show. As does everybody else.
There is only one. The Spoony One.
I’m not really feeling the chemistry, but great review nonetheless.
All in all, not a bad review. It’s a little different from the regular style, but that’s ok. Varieation is good. It seemed to be a bit off in the humour department, but it was funny in it’s own way. The Contrast between the two reviewers helped to bring out some of the best in both of them. It seemed like two people sitting in front of a television, doing what they do best. And while it may not be my favourate review, it is torrerable and a good change of scenery so to speak.
PS-please pardon my spelling.
I remember watching the movie and guess what? it was the first Highlander movie I saw. and I know I am probably going to get a lot of shit but I actually thought this movie was decent; it wasn’t half as bad as the Quickening. It does suck how they raped Connor’s character. I still love the show. and it is good to see Pat hasn’t tried to kill Destin from Screwattack yet lol
You should have parodied the Ren and Stimpy “Don’t force me to use it” toothbrush scene at the end!
Oh well, lots o laughs as always! Keep the bad movies, games, and Red Dwarf references coming!
Oh and lets not forget they retconned how and when Connor found Duncan.
In the show they said Duncan wander for years before knowing who and what he really was, until Connor found him.
It was implied that what attracted Connor was stories of a wandering MacLeod who died and rose again. He was hated and feared and rejected by his people. Connor as fellow clans man and guess what Duncan was went searching and found him.
Not your normal style, but it definitely works for this review. Good stuff, I’ll have to go check out some of Pat’s stuff.
eh, not the worst team up I’ve seen you do but it was good, considering this was your first time collaborating with the guy on a video.
Fun Fact: Pat got rid of an annoying pirate sidekick in one of his videos the same way Spoony got rid of Pat in this one :>
ALL SPECULATION: The idea behind the minions letting themselves to be killed is so that he can absorb their memories. I guess the minions think that they will live on inside him, in a way, combining their “essence”. They do not see it as getting killed, but rather as being reborn as some kind ofsuper being. Wikipedia says that in the show sometimes the memories of the slain are so powerful they take over the mind of the killer, so my crap theory makes sense to me. This is all complete speculation.
Hah. That was great. Its sad that Highlander fans had to suffer through a movie that wasn’t even filmed properly. I liked the show but I never bothered with the movie. Seeing Conner and Duncan in the same shot seemed weird since I always figured Duncan was supposed to be just a stand in.
I made sure to check out some of Pats stuff.
It was okay, this review was a little better than the first two… still didn’t really laugh though. I just don’t think this review is going to have much replay value for me personally. Still love your other stuff
Damn, the unbeatable move didn’t work! Use the crane kick!……. Or the flying V, maybe?
Nice work to the both of you :) I enjoyed the review and hearing about all the differences between the DVD and the Theater version of the movie…I’d forgotten how horrible this one was.
To Pat: Try not to listen to the real negative comments here. Some people here seem to think anything that’s not Spoony by himself is terrible. I enjoyed the change of pace :)
hehe spooning with spoony
I figured I’d wait ’til I saw everything before commenting.
Wow… talk about a disgusting end to an already beaten and butchered franchise.
As for the review, I enjoyed it, interesting set up. Thought Pat was all right, interesting person for Spoony to play off of. Though I think the very last Scotland tourist joke was a touch out of place.
either way, great fun, thanks guys.
Take care of yourself Spoony!
All in all, I think this is a good review. I found the differences between the theatrical and DVD releases to be especially interesting. Nice job fellas.
I wonder if Pat is actually that familiar with the different cuts of the movie or if that was just his schtick for the review.
I am that familiar… sad but true. There’s four different versions of this film.
All I can think is, who cloned Richard Grieco?
Wow, reading through these comments section the Pat hate is pretty staggering (largely surprised by how many thumbs up people who insult him get). Considering how he has been responding and taking the comments in stride I am guessing you now warn your co-stars to expect abuse from your fan base here.
In a way, it is unavoidable if you think about it: slutty girls attract lechers, priests attract religious folks. You have built your internet empire on a foundation of judgmental snark and, as such, draw judgmental snarks as followers.
I didn’t like Pat when I first saw his videos but he is a lot like A1 Steak Sauce in that the first taste is kind of nasty but the more you eat it the more it sort of grows on you until you realize that it actually is pretty good. Just got to get past that bitter first bite.
I agree with caja. At first I too did not like Pat then he grew on me so much, I am going to watch part 1 again, and give him a chance. I am sure I will enjoy it. Over all it was a good thing, I guess i should have waited until all three parts came out, before I wrote Pat off. Then I began to read Pat’s responses to some of the posts on here, and I began to really like him.
Good work to both of you. And Pat you should have known better than to pick a fight with man with a freaking heart condition! But I am sure Spoony’s mallory heart is home and rested. ;)
Going over to Pat’s place tomorrow and watch his stuff.
great review the two of you. My friend was a big highlander fan of the time so when i came out on video we watch it, we were never the same. But what really got me and my friend was the trailer (i am trying to point out nicely that you made on oversite. still awesome review though) the trailer showed action scenes that were not in the movie, at all. this had us ranting (and probly the both of you, too) we wanted anwser. i was hoping you guys would give them. Like, what was the point of the scenes or was there another scrip that got lost that involved magic? i know i know TROLLING so i will stop but if your have the answers NES Pat or Spoony please reply.
ps. Pat don’t listen to the haters, we’re Spoony fan’s we are all A-hole even Spoony had to tell us the SHUT THE H*LL UP
Is the show this movie is based on actually ANY good, or is it pretty much trash as well? Also where are all these immortals coming from? There was only one left at the end of the first movie.
The TV Series? I think it’s awesome. Of course is not perfect, but Duncan is a cool character and Adrian Paul makes the swordfighting top notch. Far better than any movie, except the original one.
Is it just me or did they get Kell’s kill count to 666 near the end? Because that would make this movie even stupider.
I really loved this review! I think Pat and Spoony did a fine work together. Some negative reactions are always inevitable and natural when something new appears.
I enjoyed that. Is it me, or does Pat look like Billy Joe from Green Day?
Also… I am very upset that if Connor dies that totally means that Highlander 2 can’t happen :O. It’s unraveled the space/time continuum!
As I watched this review, I kept thinking, “They’re going to kill Connor, aren’t they? But that makes no sense, given that he survives to see Highlander 2.” Then he does indeed die.
Glad I was never a fan of this franchise.
this last part was a little bit annoying. the problem i think is pat tries to hard to be funny, he acts funny instead of just being himself.
ok not 100% on this but that end scene with faith and duncan was in the millenium dome in london. why its there still makes no sense, only thing i can think of is the film was made for 2000 releases but thats a weak excuse to me, but hey why not? trip to london for the serving cast.
a nice review but the beginning seemed kind of forced and saw your ending a mile away, but in a hotel options are limited i guess.
I liked the ending. Good review, stupid, stupid movie.
Given Pat’s encyclopedic knowledge of this movie’s development, I’m surprised he didn’t go through the stuff shown in the trailer which is nowhere to be seen in the actual movie. I suggest looking it up if you want to know what I am talking about.
Give us time. We shot a ton of ranting on this, and we go into that dumb trailer in detail. I’m not sure when I’ll get around to posting that, but it’s in the works.
So there’s going to be extras for this review? Woohoo!
Leave Pat The NES Punk Alone! – /cry
On a serious note, I don’t understand what it is people don’t like about Pat. I enjoyed the review.
Ooh, the outtake inspired me! *writes a Spoony/Pat slash fic*
I was pissed off when Conrad died and that the Quickening he had was real weak… which compared with all the energies he got from the Kurgan in the first movie is Quickening should have been massive. and forgotten any others he might have after and before. like the guy of the third movie
During the review I was thinking that the reason why he killed his followers would be to get his immortal kill count up to 666 from 661 xD Maybe that was what they were going for but took it out?
I remember that being discussed after the film originally was released, but I think it counts up to being 665 since he didn’t kill Kate.
Either way, it’s dumb I think.
Poor, poor Conner. Also, why in God’s name was so much cut from the theater release? I just can’t wrap my head around it all.
Nice team up, though.
Darn, all my hopes for a Spooning with Spoony 3 dashed away! All that slashfic writing for nothing *Shoves over a table* For fucking nothing!
In the insane minds of fangirls and fanboys there is always hope. We are too deluded to believe otherwise.
I love you, Sylveria. Ahahaha.
You guys really hate Pat’s voice THAT much? Geez. It reminds me of Remy’s brother from Ratatouille.
And that shit’s endearing! D:<
I liked his voice, as well.
I can appreciate that it’s tough to organize, script and shoot crossovers at conventions, and i appreciate the work put into this project. In the end though, almost every level of the finished product felt awkward, and that’s a crying shame. I love the work and hope it can be chalked up as a learning experience. I’ll certainly watch it a few times to help with ad revenue, it’s the least I can do.
Despite all it’s flaws I thought this was an okay movie. Personally I felt it was more disappointing than bad.
Wow, Highlander certainly seems to be a cursed story. I wonder if a good sequel would actually be able to pull the series out of the toilet or simply be a matter of “to little to late”. Maybe if they did one of those Star Trek things where they wiped the whole time line out and started fresh or something? Of course if they were able to make a good movie, for once, it would probably be followed by several inadequate/horrendous sequels itself.
Well supposedly there’s a remake in the works called “Highlander: The Reckoning” with Vinnie Jones as the Kurgan and (possibly) Kevin McKidd as Connor (who would at least actually be Scottish, not French, like Lambert) but I think that one’s in development hell or something, they announced it a year ago in September and I haven’t heard anything since except for some early draft of the script that got leaked.
Spoony and Pat look weirdly similar in the most bizarre way. The toothbrush was the funniest part of the review. Here’s to Spoony’s future reviews of the other shitty Highlander movies!
My GOD that was bad! I am sooooooo glad that I never saw Endgame, especially in theaters. How can you just release a movie with something so big as an unfinished effects shot staring you in the face? Even Highlander 3: The Final Dimension had more dignity than this shit. Sure, Mario Van Peebles was the king of overacting but at least the movie itself was fun to watch (regardless of how bad it was). Endgame is one of the downright laziest movies that I have *thankfully* never seen. Sometimes, its hard to call yourself a Highlander fan….
And Sonic fans say they have it bad.
Pat seems like a weird guy but he didn’t make this video unwatchable for me. I can only imagine what the comments for this is like on TSE forums. Personally, I liked this though it could’ve used a little more reaction shots.
And OMFG it has been absolutely KILLING me, but i finally figured out who Pat reminds me of! He looks like Richard Grieco in that shitty Bond spoof If Looks Could Kill. Sorry Pat, but that might just be the most offensive remark that anyone has written about you so far…. I kid, really, but the resemblance is uncanny, at least to me.
This insult shall not stand! Johnny Knoxville? OK. The guy from Green Day? Sure. But Richard Grieco?! Watch your back, Dan Shea!
Knoxville makes sense
Yes, you’re very Knoxville.
I was thinking more like the lovechild of Richard Grieco and Bobcat Goldthwaith.
OMG YOU’RE RIGHT.
Great review! Horrible movie! I remember watching this in high school and I hated it so much. But you two do bring up a good point: it is hard to say which one is worse as a movie, but the Endgame seems to have the production values of a B-movie. A bad one.
Btw, Did Pat have bad mic, because his voice seemed to disappear a lot. Especially in the end.
I thought Pat seemed a bit off in the first two parts but he calmed down a bit more in this one and made some good points.
Agreed actually. I don’t know if he took a look back at the first two and was like, “Shit. I forgot I had to actually TRY!” or something but he improved quite a bit from the last two parts.
This was a pretty cool review. I’m guessing it was more in Pat’s review style with more emphasis placed on trivia, but that really didn’t take anything away from it as even trivia for BAAAAD movies is fun. The jokes that they did make were all pretty good, though the standoff with remote and electric toothbrush was really strange. And I’m glad Spoony pointed out Pat’s odd hair (if that’s your normal style, sorry)P.S. Spoony’s room for SGC was fuckin nice
Well as bad as this movie was it was the last piece of Highlander anything that I’ve seen that didn’t suck. Yes, it wasn’t too well put together but it was at least recognizable as a Highlander film. It’s funny with you Spoony I can’t tell anymore if you like Highlander the series or not. You’ve mentioned before that you didn’t but here you are quite familiar with it odd that. I don’t understand why you’d watch something you’d claim to dislike. Personally, I prefer Adrian Paul’s story to Lamberts as I thought until the last few seasons it was far better thought out.
Good review. I’m not a fan of highlander, but the review itself had a good dynamic goin’ on between you two. Plus, the kind of sarcastic way you present yourself at the beginning of the 1st video is pretty cool. I like you better in this relaxed, teasing way of acting.
hey, anyone noticed that Kel’s head count was 666 before he died? Thats if he killed Duncan’s “wife” of course
Hey Spoony, I didn’t know you knew Seth MacFarlane! But seriously, does this mean we’re going to see Pat the NES Punk on TGWTG soon?
During the Kel-Duncan fight in the generic pipe factory, I was almost expecting Reb Brown to come through, screaming in a tiny electric car.
Alas, it’s hard to have a Railing Kill when the combatants are immortal.
That was a fun review. Thanks Spoony and Pat!
When I saw this in theaters, I remember laughing when Conner got beheaded. Then laughing when Conner briefly takes over Duncan’s body.
Pat the NES punk, a man who was in a Spoony video, is personally replying to comments?
IT’S LIKE BEING TOUCHED BY A GOD.
Being a continuously disappointed Highlander fan myself, I must really taunt you into making a review of at least one of the Highlander audio books (read by Adrian Paul, because he has such a great and clear voice right?)
The first two are nice stories, even if they make the mistake of creating a recurring and important character in the life of Duncan, that was never mentioned before (sounds familiar?) they are within the standards and the spirit of the TV series, but then the last two start to deal with the tempering of the magical and mystical properties of the immortals and their quickenings (insert Dr. Insano voice here) By science!!
The last one is called “Kurgan Rising”, so yes, he comes back and so does Connor. Man! What do you have to do to kill these f***ers!! I challenge you to listen to that and not spend the next week insulting the author.
Great review. Loved all the missed/deleted scenes info.
Why do I get the feeling the exchange at the beginning of this review is not too different from how these two really agreed to collaborate?
Okay, so, this movie says that Duncan killed Connor assumedly around 2000 to gain his power and fight Kell, right? So, uh… that kinda makes a couple of the things in the franchise not-canon, doesn’t it? Mainly the ones that happen in the future, i.e. Highlander II and the cartoon. Connor is very clearly alive in those (although he’s killed in the first episode of the cartoon)… but he was clearly killed here. What, was he magic’d back to life like Ramirez was? Or are we saying The Quickening and the cartoon are non-canonical? What’s the official stance with the Highlander community?
I think the trick with Highlander is to just imagine everything is in different continuities. The first film exists on it’s own, the series and and it’s extension of characters (including Connor) are a parallel world, Highlander 2 is just a bad dream, etc.
Why does every movie producer on this planet hate Highlander? What did it do to them? LEAVE HIGHLANDER ALONE!
… Poor Highlander. One day someone will retcon all the sequels back to the dreaded “The Quickening” and all will be well again.
Alright everyone, we’re going to need 25 people to sell their souls to the devil to make this thing work. Any volunteers?
Great! Now we just need 23 more people… You wouldn’t happen to have any relatives that you hate intensely hanging around, do you?
Man i almost laughed in advance when i saw the toothbrush and remote. I was 100% sure that we would get a stupid rippoff on the “super move”. But it never came TT
Great review thou, i really enjoyed watching it :D
plz dont flame me asunder because i pointed out the missing supermove
all hail spoony
Yes the movie is terrible but it has Donnie Yen in it and well I did get a bit choked up when he died. Tragic what they did to his character.
Honestly, this still occurs to me as one of the “better” Highlander sequels. Yeah, the acting, writing, editing, cinematgraphy etc. are fucking embarrassing, but it has Donnie Yen in a fairly well choreographed fight scene. That’s enough to redeem just about anything.
Honestly I kinda liked Endgame but watching this review I kinda realize the glaring plots holes but still it’s wasn’t a half bad movie but you do now realize what you have to do. You have to review the 5th movie Highlander: The Source. A movie so bad it makes the 2nd one seem like a masterpiece!
Undoubtedly this is a bad movie. It’s an attempt at bridging together the series and the movies so like a lot of the time when these sorts of attempts are made, the movie just ends up looking like an extended TV episode (My God were the flashbacks in that thing!).
However, I don’t get how people point fingers at this and the Quickening – which is only bad when you stop to think about it, otherwise at least they had the decency to recognice that the first movie sort of made away with any possibility of doing a sequel that people would like – but no one mentiones the basement-dwelling stepchild that is Highlander 3: the Sorcerer/The Final Dimension. End Game is at least entertaining in its confusion, Mario Van Peebles isn’t even that. You can roll your eyes and guffa at La Villain Sur Teethgnashing, but the bottomless stench of cheap sequel overwhelming the third instalment makes you wish it would just go away and be 80s somewhere else and quit pretending to be a Highlander movie.
I disagree. Highlander 3 is basically a thinly veiled remake of 1, just with a big layer of cheese. Do a point by point comparison of them, and you’ll see how similar they are.
Non-existing continueity and about 200 flashbacks more than there should be… BEST MOVIE EVAR!
That guy is badass I’d watch this pos just to see him be badass.
You’re quite a wonderful actor Mr. Spoony One!
This Pat fellow… is not.
Pat’s voice eerily reminds me of..*shudder* the Irate Gamer.
We’re one and the same. I’ve had massive amounts of plastic surgery including pec implants to complete the transformation.
GAH! Don’t even joke like that, Pat!
The thought of the IR being anywhere other than locked away in the depths of YouTube is chilling to me
pfff…LOL…u just owned tha shit out of this pat guy by saying his voice is like irate gamers ….and it is ….i mean that comment alone took all the heat from the spoony ”zealots”
Anyone else think Connor looks like Nick Nolte’s mug shot in the screen cap?
Every scene where an actor who has competent swordplay chops has to get the crap kicked out of them by someone who really, really doesn’t, it hurts my head. And our villain is just… awful. Take a second and compare him to the Kurgan. Which one of those two looks, sounds and acts more like an “unbeatable” Immortal? Which one strikes you as more homicidal, more relentless and more frightening an opponent? It sure as hell isn’t the clown with weird crucifix shoes! Not only was this movie awful, but seeing Bruce Payne with a sword again reminded me of Dungeons & Dragons, and now I have a stomach ache.
Wow, I am at a loss. We’ve seen plenty of cinematic ineptitude with other movies you’ve reviewed, including The Quickening, but this is one of those movies that seems like it was actively sabotaged behind the scenes. Somebody really didn’t want this movie to work.
Ok I have to say, the third part was the best. There seemed to be a hell of lot less steamrolling and the ending part with you two about to square off was pretty great. It seemed to get better as it went along.
(Random trivia attack) I wasn’t willing to read three full sets of comments (I skimmed through all 115 of this ones first though) But the pre-immortals inability to conceive is highlighted in I think season 5 of the series where a girl Reggie had ‘relations’ with came back with a child claiming it was his. Both MacLeod and the Watchers confirm it can’t happen or at least has never happened in any recorded history. By the end of the episode the girl admits she was lying , leaving another plot hole in this movie
Am I the only one who thinks that Pat looked a little disappointed when he found out there wasn’t going to be a Spooning with Spoony 3?
I just thougth of something… They die and come back to life and then can only killed by removing the head… Coming back to life makes them undead and only undead that need the head removed to kill are zombies… They are zombies!
well they could be vampires, I mean no one tried staking them
I think all the times people have been stabbed through the chest proves well enough they aren’t vampires. Also they can walk in the sun without rotting nor glittering.
Haha, missed the last bead-dropping flashback in the count! =)
I think that’s because it was a video review edit, rather than a flashback in the movie.
I am surprised you guys didn’t mention the trailer for this movie:
take a look at around 25 seconds in, it shows the badguy being cut into two halves then regenerating into two full people, like a starfish i guess.
This preview is tells a better story then the whole movie. I saw this movie when it was out a long time ago, so I don’t remember but i swear half the shit in it doesn’t happen.
Wait for the upcoming rant. : O
There was another reason for Kel killing his cadre, and it was more subtle you would have to pick up on it earlier. When Joe showed the kill count of Kel, it was 661. Him killing his cadre would of brought him to 666, thus a subtle way… as cliched as it was, for the directors to signify Kel was “evil”. Of course, I don’t think the directors even know they did that in this piece of crap movie.
Blah I ende dup posting twice cause I thought the first wasn’t registered :(
I know I am late to the party, but there was another, more subtle reason for Jacob Kell killing his cadre of immortals, and the way it happened I would have to say the director didn’t even realize he made this mistake in his favor, or the writing was actually well done but the director just botched so badly, it was lost on him. Earlier in the movie, Joe is talking about kill counts, etc, and of course Jacob Kell’s comes up 661. Kell killing his cadre would of brought the kill count to 666, thus subtley trying to claim how Jacob Kell is such an evil person, despite he is the most laughable villains ever created, in such a horrible movie.
The Kurgan could floss his teeth with this guy.
wow spoony and pats epic standing around holding stuff was better than the movie
When I first saw this, I hated it just for ruining the first film. I was so distracted by the ruined canon that I completely missed how badly this movie was made. Man, that sucks. I’m going to go watch the first one and weep for it.
here’s the cannon . . . every sequel is a fever dream
There was a flashback roughly every 1 and a half minutes…*shoves head into cheese grater*
One of the best crossovers! Great review, very funny.
How is it possible for a movie to be made of flashbacks?! I’m so glad I didn’t watched it in the movie theater.
all of highlander is made of flashbacks, that’s where the setup comes from
this one just . . . took that a bit too far
661 immortal kills in the villains body count. 661 kills + the 5 henchmen he killed (give or take a work print version or a bonus scene) and that = fuck this and every movie since the exorcist that tries to plug in 666 into their plots.
Excluding anything related to Iron Maiden, obviously.
Doesn’t a bunch of flashbacks like that only count as 1 since it is kind of a montage?
Technically no, because any break in a flashback to go to a DIFFERENT flashback counts as a totally separate flashback. It’s also annoying and is kind of a cheap way to get some exposition in the story and/or pad it when you don’t have enough as it is.
Yeah, that final scene is in the Millennium Dome, Grenwich, London, or the O2 Arena as it’s now known. Must have still been an exhibition space when the film was made. No real reason for them to be there, as even if Connor’s grave is meant to be in Scotland, Grenwich would be at the very least 300+ miles away.
spoony, ever the clever bastard
Btw I learned recently the reason Jin Ke was loyal to Kell was because Kell saved him from Xavier St. Cloud during Unholy Alliance incident where he was having gunmen kill immortals before he took their head. Kell’s gang kills most of Xavier’s men and chase Xavier off and Jin Ke swears an oath of Loyalty to Kell because he saved his life and then spared it. Which is why he didn’t fight Kell when he tried to kill him.
There’s a line there that confuses the hell out of me.
He kills immortals…*before* he takes their heads??
I believe he means “They incapacitated them via gunshots and then beheaded the temporarily ‘dead’ immortals.”
…It’s actually pretty clever, when you think about it. Why learn how to be an epic swordsman and maybe die when you can do things mortal-style and then finish ‘em with no fight?
Not to mention ol’ Xavier at the time was (if I’m remembering my continuity here) missing one of his hands…I mean it flies in the face of all the rules, having a bunch of dudes with submachine guns riddle a dude with bullets then doing the head thing. I’m surprised it wasn’t a strategy you’d see more often, say I want Darius’s head but can’t get at it since he’s always on holy ground, just knock him out with some ether or something, drag him outside the church and voila, holy man quickening sandwich…
Seriously? I wondered about that…where did you hear about the connection between him and the Xavier situation? I need to go back and re-watch the series sometime, I actually enjoy it in a guilty sort of “fun” way up to around the point where Duncan cuts his hair right after that kind of corny “Ahriman” thing, it had it’s hits and misses of course, but was watchable. That last season though…I think Paul was just getting tired of the part or something because you could just TELL he was phoning his performance in just waiting for his contractual obligation to run out.
1. Why was Adrian Paul’s voice dubbed in by someone else at certain parts?
2. Why did they repeat the same footage during the swordfight between Duncan and Jacob?
Does anyone know??
Well, just as they said in the review, it was just an editing mess. They probably found out that the audio was a total mess after rewinding the tape, and the actors probably went home to try to wash the fail off them, and wouldn’t return to set to correct. So, they found someone on set that might sound close in heavy traffic and decided close enough.
As for the second… Well, they probably wanted a few more minutes of action in, and just copied and pasted it since no fucks were given previously, so why start now?
shooting was disastrous for this film & they couldn’t get all the parts they wanted by the time their deadline was up, so they just had to slap it all together & hope for the best
I like to know what happened to the story element of Kell having TK and self-cloning powers. there’s a shot in one of the trailers showing Kell using the Force to stop a sword that was thrown at him and another of Duncan cutting Kell in 1/2 and the 2 pieces growing new parts so there’s 2 Kells
they’re were scenes shot specifically for the trailer and not intended to be in the film in order to make the movie “look more exciting”. . . . BS i know
“Wow! Sounds like a cool scene, makes some sense… No wonder they left it out.”
so if Conner dies in this film. . . . how does he go on to kill the Kurgan in the original movie. . . is there an explanation ?. . . or is it to late to question highlander continuity ?. . . . probably the latter
“Gives Highlander II: The Quickening a run for it’s money…”? Whoa, there. Whoa. Enough with the hyperbole. It’s terrible, but still head and shoulders over THAT filth.
