Can Reb Brown and the elite BAM squad survive a battle with the ultimate greasy weapon? Stick around.
New Spoony Vid! Best thing to wake up to, especially if it involves Reb “Yor” Brown.
Just listened to the latest Transmission Awesome and when you mentioned this in it, I got hyped and whaddyaknow, here it is!!
I almost died laughing at “How appropriate, you fight like a cow.”. :)
Wow, this came up whilst I was online. Cool. Burton lives!
Walken’s in the intro,nice!
ROBOWAR II: Even Greasier!
Geez, this movie was like a visit from the predator´s retarded android cousin.
But the review was great!
… does this mean that Linkara has to clone Spoony AGAIN? Huh… sure to keep him busy. ^^
Nice Monkey Island reference :D
Awesome, you got Glaser and company in this one!
HOLY SHIT this was gutbusting. SOOOO awesome and hilarious
Ooooooooooooh, widescreen! B-)
Never mind, you seem to have been going widescreen for a while. XD
Good review, nonetheless!
Nooo, they shot Ed Glaser!!
I could be wrong but were those the guys from College Humor who did “Minesweeper – The Movie”?
And for Spoony: Wow, that was the best review for a long time, and Burton is back which makes me look forward to the next review.
I liked the monkey island reference.
WOOOOT so excited!!!
Holy crap! That review blew me away!
It’ll be hard top that one!
GR8 job spooney xD
*your in my way, sir* XD
I’ve actually seen this movie recently. It was on an online show called “Doc Mock’s Movie Mausoleum”. Sort of an improved MST3K style of show.
This was undoubtedly of the funniest reviews you’ve done so far. You sir, are a true King of Comedy. :D
Never seen this movie like everyone. :(
Awesome review, Spoony. These videos are just getting better and better.
hmmmm.. this reveiw seemed very TGWTG.
Not that i’m complaining :-)
I was almost sure the sketches were some pre-existing parody… up until Ed came out as the SWAT Member. Awesome review, Spoony.
Whats the deal with that Ed Glaser guy and his craptastic “movies” ?
Finally! A Monkey Island reference! really funny review Spoony.
I love how you got Ed to do the SWAT gag.
Well done as always Spoony.
I think those guys are haxor O_O They’ve got unlimited bullets O_O
Also, way overkill on most scene, hell, they killed them so hard they came back to life and died again, twice, and then only the skeleton was left.
LOL at the Monkey Island reference :D
Funny review though to be honest some of the sketches felt slightly jarring. Ed Glaser coming out as the SWAT guy was awesome though :D
The new intro looks cool btw.
Funniest Review Ever, I so going to use Spoony firing a Kalashnikov as an icon somewhere.
Yay! Burton is back… with a vengeance…
Well, there you have a reason, why you SHOULD write Screenplays: You + Ed Glaser & Crew + other TGWTG Cameos = Awesomeness to the max. I hope that some day, there will be a feature-length movie of you guys. Just remember to NOT do anything Rob Zombie did in Halloween 2.
(Btw. people: buy Press Start and Rampage and Night of Anubis and RoboGirl and whatever else Ed Glaser did/does)
Life Lesson #42: when in doubt, quote Monkey Island.
Oh dear GOD! I watched this crap as a kid! It somehow made it way to Croatian video stores so I rented it once looking for anything even remotely SciFi. It looked familiar and “Greasy” part convinced me. I think it was re-cut a bit though, I don’t remember the slideshow and BAM part. Oh well, now to watch it all way throught and see if I remember shit correctly… I think the robot was actualy a botched up friend of the main character? Why do I even remember that? >.<
WOW!!!!!! That was your greatest review ever!!!
Maybe you should redo your intro, doesnt look too good stretched to widescreen
Excellent review, though the dark maze sketches were kind of distracting.
Big Ass Motherfuckers!? Wouldn’t it of made more sense if it was Bad Ass Motherfuckers?
Wow. I hope we get more Reb Brown one liners, followed by a wink. Still I’m a little disappointed he didn’t hang glide on any giant dead things in this one. Oh well, maybe next time.
Great review, awesome quality, very funny.
that poster in the beginning is Turkish, transalated: Robo War Accident ( i think)
After watching this review I went to msn.com and one of the headlines was this, Boaters warned to look out for missing robot. Link to newstory http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/32702588/ns/us_news-weird_news/?GT1=43001
Shit that was funny. Keep the good work.
(And on a side note: Yes that is how american soldiers actualy behave in reality. My uncle (actualy we are not blood related but still he is a family friend) was in Iraq and have bullet in his leg to prove it. And he wasn’t fighting on the Iraqies side. Yep friendly fire.)
Very good new video
The in-jokes were way better than usual.
Oh wow, these are the greatest soldiers that I’ve ever seen! BUSH MOVEMENT IN THE JUNGLE, FIRE AT WILL! If I didn’t know any better I’d have thought this was supposed to be a comedy with all of the random firing and screaming.
Hey Spoony, have you ever seen doc Mock’s movie mausoleum, they make riffs on movies, live every week, they already had reviewed this movie and terminators 2.
Awesome, just awesome. And I loved how you used the 3 Doors Down song in the random shooting montage, hilarious.
Wow, Slab Bulkhead/Fridge Largemeat/Gristle McThornbody/Bob Johnson/Blast Hardcheese has certainly had a distinguished film career.
I want the piss take stuff , if they did a piss take dvd i would buy it so funny
your in my way sir
Mr. Spoony; You outdid yourself this time, absolutely epic! Really, really great! Loved the Monkey Island reference, very appropriate!
Keep it up! and thanks for some great entertainment!
The ending was great, as was the “ooooooh nasty” clip being placed in there. Best part though was totally “You’re in my way sir *is shot about a hundred times*.” Great job, Spoony! Once again, a very entertaining review.
Awesome. I really liked the hostage scene where you had the mercenaries go berserk again. One of your best reviews!
haha I loved the whole everybody shooting montage, it was tremendous
NOOOO, Not Ed Glaser! Those BASTARDS!!
Burton in GREASY mode had me rolling on the fucking floor.
porno holocaust was made by joe d’amato
I’ve seen Predator more than any other movie (100+ times, literally), and by now I can quote it word for word, or storyboard it shot for shot, and I love picking up all the military errors in the film that allow the team of specalists their place in easily killable forces. For example finding out they have no reinforcements, and learning of their extraction plan just 2 minutes before they actually disembark, Dutch telling Billie they need to leave now with no traces as he throws a US issue jacket down on the ground, or a Major telling a 2 Star General what to do whilst blowing smoke in his face.
B.A.M takes it though; every scene they’re in, they’re packed like sardines. One tripwire, or grenade, or boy scout could wipe them out. They don’t believe in ammo conservation, a believable formation, using cover, noise discipline. They beachhead in the day, in a slow boat, and half the team has a support weapon.
I laughed hard at the A.I.D.S joke, the breast cancer one, and your careful editing when they gun down the human shield. Genius Spoony. Fuck Yor, you’re the man!
that! was! fucking! awesome!
so Gredo aka CHuck Norris xD was the Jesse Ventura of the movie
I loved the Monkey Island and Swat 4 references!!!
And the “everybody shooting” montage was just hilarious!!!XD
Great work as always, Spoony!!
13.2x – was that a cat?
Fucking awesome ! Superb review, best one yet.
Ed Glaser is the man, the Swat joke was priceless, he must really like your work. The best moments for me were the BAM moment, the turquoise navel-showing ultra-manly tanktop, and the whole robot voice thing (GREASY), especially the gay chipmunk french robot. Oh and the superb soundtrack all in E minor ONLY !
Great job spoony, you’re the Skronkiest man alive ! Sixty-one !
Great collaborative work, man! This has to be one of my favorite movie reviews you’ve ever done–Thanks for putting it together! :)
“Exuse me? You’re in my way sir!”
RAAAAH!!!! RATATATATATA!! XD
Amazing job with the video Spoony, and Ed Glazier did a fantastic directing job too.
Sidenote: How much ammo did B.A.M.F actually bring with them on this mission? 3 full truckloads?
I’d love it if someone made a clip of 21:40 to 21:50, and put it on Youtube or something. Hilariously bad and completely awesome at the same time without relying on the “so good its bad” syndrome.
This reminds me how I love Predator.
At first I thought the robot was saying something else funny…but Greasy made me forget.
GREASY! GREASY! Great review as always!
Oh, also, I think he’s actually saying “Recieved”, not “Greasy”.
Oh, god, that movie is so bad, that even the review was less enjoyable. This has to be the best video in quality and jokes, but that movie makes it so bad… With your we could lough about it, but this is just… garbage.
where the hell were they?? I mean one of the guys from the guerrilla shouted in Spanish! XD. He shouted “gringo de mierda”
bad movie is bad XD! awesome review!!
Love the Monkey Island ref
Good review, bad movie. Don’t think you needed the reference overload though.
I’m going to have to insist you put “Reb Brown: Big Ass Motherfucker” in the random messages at the top of the page.
If possible, you should review Reb Brown’s Captain America flicks next.
Jeez, how much ammunition did they even bring with them?
Actually, japanese subs says Ryokai on the Greasy part, which means “I understand”, as in “Sir, yes, sir!”
Fuck me, man, that was a classic review, right there.
more greasy puns… What was the last name of the Miami Dolphins star Quarterback in the 1970′s? Greasy. I loved the part when they killed Reynolds and I did find one copy of this movie on DVD at Amazon in region 2 format used.
Don’t know if you spotted the font in front cover of the dvd. It is the same font used in the Predator movies TITLE, talk about ripping from other movie :D
Hilarious and awesome…one of your best videos
Great review. I lol’d many times. What good is a remote control if it’s range is shorter than my dick?! Great line.
Keep up the great work, Spoony! And….
“Don’t Move.” *wink*
Definitely one of your best videos.
awesome video. I was wondering what had happened to the robot mascot.
I am lost for words, no wait, I am not!!! That was absolutely awesome!! There were so many things I loved about this review that if I start listing them it will almost the be full review. WOW. All the spare time you have now really pays off!!(yeah, bad joke I know, sorry to here about you getting fired).
I listened to the Transmission Awesome podcast, and I have to say Spoony I really appreciate all the hard work, blood, sweat and soul you put into this site. And I am amazed at the rate you put things. All Hail the Spoony One!!!
XD “Excuse me, you’re in my way sir!” lololol
And seeing Reb in that blue shirt reminded me of Zoro in this gem of a filler episode:
Hey, at least Zoro is badass in real life.
Speaking of which, shouldn’t it be “Bad Ass Motherfuckers”?
that hostage scene where he counts 1, 2, 3 remided me of ” The Untouchables”
i’ve never seen this movie, and i cant find it, so i might as well ask, what happened to virgin?
They even had the sack to rip off the Predator font!!!!
great review as allways spoony :]
You might wanna give credit to Animal House somewhere, just to be safe.
Good afternoon, Spoony.
In the event you read these forums, you HAVE to watch “Kung Pow: Enter the Fist”. I already recommended it in the “Clones of Bruce Lee” forum, I think. But now I STRONGLY recommend it.
Not that I think you’ll enjoy the movie, but I think you’ll find it useful for future jokes.
For example, after that scene of Virgin having and not having a gun, the only thing going through my head was, “I am a powerful magician. Your clothes are red.”
Oh, and loved the review, obviously.
GREAT movie review, Spoony! Your movie reviews are just spot-on and Reb Brown is definitely a B-Movie action star worth venerating… like Mark Gregory! Funny you should bring up Bruno Mattei’s work; it’s funny because the Other Hell wasn’t all that sick a Nunsploitation film. It was just a bad horror movie with a good twist at the end.
And once again, Spoony One, you have outdone yourself. Greasy…! Greasy…!
I have to see it! lol. Terrible acting, worse dialog, bad effects, I love this shit.
I hope your reviews never end, Spoony. You’re hilarious
This is probably among your best yet! I really like the parts that Ed Glaser did as well. Good job to all of you!
That was fucking great Spoony, you really ramped up the production on this one. And I lol’d so damn hard when Ed walked up as the SWAT guy.
UR IN MAH WAY SIR
I’m positive the robot/cyborg thing is saying “Precede” which is probably a mistranslation/mispronounciation of “proceed,” since it says that before it does any other action, and even tells Reb Brown to “Precede” when he’s got the remote to blow it up.
Great one, Spoony! I didn’t expect this one at all.
Reynolds Gets his
I hate that song “Ironic” by Alanis…
Know why? The only thing IRONIC about the song, is that there’s NOTHING IRONIC IN IT. Apparantly, it’s not just Hollywood people who don’t know the definition of the word, but also singers… And people who try to use the song to indicate irony… Although…
Nah, wait, nevermind. That’s a whole new bag of worms right there.
Yesssss. This is the good stuff right here, gentlemen. Looking forward to more awesomeness from Spoony.
B.A.M., they’ll kill you ’till you’re already dead
This is your most well-made movie yet.
Mama Mia, bad Italian ripoffs of Hollywood movies!
Love the Monky Island reference. But the SWAT was allso werry funny
What? The robot is the Cyborgized Pal from Reb’s old days in the Nam war?
What the hell, tha movie ripped of Metal Gear Solid before that game even exsited, how is that possible? D:
Or did Kojima wathced this movie and thought: “Holeh fuck, thats as cheesy as it can get, I need to make that major plotpoint in my game!”
Would make kinda sense, I mean he obviously watched enough bad movies too know that Uwe Boll sucks and should never ever direct the Metal Gear movie.
Loved the Monkey Island line!
I think if you gave Vincent Dawn a budget he probably produce the equivalent of G.I. Joe.
“You’re in my way, sir.”
I had to pause the video I was laughing so hard XD
Way to go, Spoony!
Nice cat in the background of the piano
AMAZING!!!! You just keep topping yourself Spoony. I’m going to watch that again. Long live Reb “Yor” Brown!
I’m going to make it a personal mission to get you to collaborate with RiffTrax. I feel like an asshole watching quality stuff this without paying. So I’ll go ahead and donate too.
Nice one. You even got the Dark Maze actors to help you illustrate the stupidity of this fucking movie.
I have no complaints about this one…that’s a rarity. You’ve found the perfect middle-ground it would seem!
It’s good Spoony, but I think you’re becoming a bit too cartoonish for my taste. Theguywiththeglasses already does that style, I think you should do a more minimalist approach, that’s when you’re at your best. You don’t need the sight gags.
Glad to see Burton is still alive. He’s fun!
Porno Holocaust, just wow. I mean I would ask if it’s a pornographic knock off of Cannibal Holocaust, but I probably don’t want to know.
Best review yet, Spoony! Great Job!
And man, seeing the “press start”-cast in a review of yours was freakin’ awesome! I hope we will see more of those SpoonyOne and Ed Glaser cooperations :)
I’m with Speedball @ 101 on this one, it definately sounds like “precede” as opposed to “proceed” which is an understandable if somewhat akward mistake that someone who was either A) illiterate or B) an ESL student might make.
But “greasy” is MUCH funnier…
Without a doubt one of your best videos!
Great work! I liked the little piece by Basil Poledouris during the big ammo waste scene. Now I want to go watch Predator!
Great vid Spoony, as always. And of course…
Welcome back Burton!
haha that poster is turkish!
The song ‘Ironic’ needs to be renamed to ‘Unfortunate’. Anyway, great review Noah……Greasy.
great review, as awesome as allways but i do agree with Mycroft, you should do less cartoonish minimalist gags. More snark and irony! http://www.myspace.com/jukebanduk
Spoony you should move to Germany… Robowar (aka Roboman) and Yor are available on DVD here ^^ (Germany loves shitty movies xD )
Burton’s back!! Oh that was pure awesome spoony man :d
“you’re in my way sir”
Oh god, i laughed so hard. I really enjoyed this review!
fucking hilarious, i always look forward to your work
The sound seems to be out of sync with the video. Am I the only one getting that?
The sound seems to be out of sync with the video. Am I the only one getting that?
Nope. The sound is definatly out of sync with the video.
You made a goof: Bruno Mattei didn’t direct Porno Holocaust, that was directed by Joe D’amato (aka Aristied Massaccesi)
Great episode! Just the right blend of creative inserts and crappy movie commentary. Full of energy throughout. Well done sir! And there are so many more times he could have compared this ripoff to Predator, but he didn’t abuse the obvious.
“…the only thing hotter is the lesbian scene in Mulholland Drive”
I going to go on a Hunch and say that the robot says “Recieved” as in recieved information, computers are always sending and recieving data so it’s the only conclusion I can draw is that this robot talks about the thing it sees, he sees enemies he says something like, targets… recieved
The part at the end with Burton was just a killer for me.
As much as I love your game reviews and playthroughs, your movie videos (redundant) are quickly becoming my favorites of yours.
The SWAT made me lol hard. “You’re in my way sir-” *BRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAP*
Excellent review, as always.
Loved the reference to ‘The Secret Of Monkey Island’. :)
This was my favorite review in the past 4 or 5 months! It feels like nothing was over the top and the jokes were really good! I appreciate this review very very much.
@112: Well consider this. In Kojima’s game “Snatcher” you had to kill the bodysnatching robots by shooting them directly in the center of the forehead. In “Robowar” the robot’s self-destruct signal has to hit in the center of the forehead. Coincidence? Happenstance? You tell me.
Now onto what I was going to say about the review proper. I guess this is what Noah spent 24 hours straight editing and it shows. Hilarious stuff, loved the parody bits that Glaser did, and I also have to say that while I’ll miss the old intro this new one definitely works as well, especially with the inclusion of the lethal throat chop.
Also I enjoyed the use of “Reb Brown’s Feminine Screechy Voice”
I agree with smilez, the starship troopers part was hilarious. That was a hilarious review, great job!
Ed Glaser’s contribution to the review was great, though I don’t know if I’d want to see sketch comedy interludes in movie reviews all the time.
“Your in my way sir” bit had me in stitches! you should seriously consider making a movie! because those clips looked great!
oh yeah Bruno Mattei, the Cinema Snobs favorit director.
And Reb Brown will return in “Sin-Jin Smyth”
Really good reveiw, but get rid of the sketches. they sucked, and it’s the spoony experiment, we come here to hear you rant, not to watch 4 random guys act out a shit movie.
People who are not spoony in spoony videos = bad.
This was probably the best spoony review I have EVER seen. I have no idea why a lot of people didn’t like this. This was gold, pure and simple!
So much hate for the darkmaze sketches, i EFFING LOVED THEM! It’s almost as if anyone not you Noah in a review is too unspoony for your reviews. Frankly the haters can go screw themselves because evolution and change is what keeps a franchise going. All those haters, I find your opinion both wrong and repulsive, anti-change (ie awesome) mongers who hold onto the past like a freaking pacifier.
for some reason, the japanese subtitles read the “greasy” part as “roger”.
I guess you can take that into consideration when trying to figure out just what the hell the robot is saying.
zach hoffman, you had to make 2 pointless comments to indicate you wasted your time? It was a funny review but I guess every idiot is entitled to an opinion, right?
I love movie rip offs :D
Spoony, What ever happened to the Terror Trax game? You made the trailer for it and then it just sort’a dropped off the map. 8(
Well, overall good review just the sketches didn’t seem to be your style. They were good, but its just not you. It seemed more like an Angry Joe review which is ironic since he was in the video. Also, it would’ve been funnier to see more Space mutiny references. I was expecting you to say “Why do you hate my crotch so much?” when the guy was getting kicked twice in the nads on the floor. It was funny, just different, and most people just don’t like different.
Spoony, that was the best work you’ve done in a long time. Something to be really proud of. Thanks for the entertainment!
He ain’t saying “greasy”! He’s saying “recieve”
Poor poor poor Ed Glaser I love the swat 4 reference. Keep up the good work Spoony.
Surprised you didn’t include the Quistis gun scene.
I have to strongly disagree with “Zachary Hoffman” sure having clips like that all the time may get a little overwhelming but I found them to be great during this review. They put a lot of work into it and I think they can act about as good as the actors in this movie. Wait that’s probably an insult , they are better actors. lol
I am less familiar with the people that participated in the parody clips. But I accually thought for a moment that they were clips from an actual parady movie. A B grade parody movie at best but still. The parody of “The Blair witch project” was really terrible it was just as bad as the real movie. But theses guys in this clip were accually really good!!
I loved the “Your in my way sir.” part. and all around it was good. This is one of spoonys better reviews. Even the parts he did were great as well.
i absolutely loved this review. i kinda get why some people dislike the sketches making fun of the movie, though. I guess it’s a “you love it you hate it” kind of thing. so please don’t let that stop you from working that kind of thing into your reviews once in a while.
doc mock did episodes on both robo war and terminator 2
Anyone who didn’t like this review is a fucking moron. This was one of the best Spoony reviews I’ve ever seen.
Lovely. This is the way to mock bad movies – with acting! It definitely is a departure from your style, which is good… I mean, your old style was good, but this is good in a way that is different than the good of your old style.. which might mean it’s better than your old style, but not in a way that negates the significance of the old style over the new style… though wouldn’t that automatically imply that the old style was inferior? Not that it should be taken as an insult. I mean, one good is just the same as the other type of good, only one would naturally be better because good is a relative measure and it’s impossible to say that two distinct styles are equal just like it’s impossible to state one style is superior to the other without…
I liked it. Q.E.D.
I know that Schwarzenegger is famous for his cheesy one-liners, but even he never actually WINKED at the camera after delivering his line. Geez, Reb Brown.
Man, this was your best review yet, Spoony.
An incredibly awful movie, a bunch of easy jokes to make. And just look at all those production values!
…did that guy seriously direct a movie called Porno Holocaust? And SS Experiment Love Camp? Because I thought incredibly awful and disturbing pornography was only supposed to come out of Japan.
So are we to assume that Reb Brown is the Spoony Experiment eqivillent to The Cinema Snob’s Pierre Kirby
Anyway great review
I’m actually not a total uncritical Spoony fanboy, to be honest most of your stuff has seemed kind of hit & miss with me. I mention that only so you know where I’m coming from when I say that while your Clones Of Bruce Lee review showed some hints of greatness, this Robowar one was FRICKIN’ AWESOME!!!!!!!!! And I don’t mean Bruce Campbell really-cool-even-if-it-isn’t-actually-any-good awesome, I mean legitimately great, well written, flawlessly executed awesomeness.
Surprised to see such polarized opinions on this one, i thought it was a really well thought out piece; you can see alot of effort went into it. How people can make such a huge fuss out of about 60 seconds of non-Spoony moments really makes you have to wonder.
I LOVED THIS VIDEO. THIS is real spooney entertainment. this is what ive been missing out on, reviews of hilariously bad old games and movies. well done spooney i laughed my ass of :D:D:D. made my day, keep up the good work
and Zachary Hoffman —> whats ur problem? ok u didnt like it, post about it once, why u gotta do it twice? chill, i think this was great and so did many other ppl
and I got school now! GAH CANT WATCH IT!! … need to wait…
Okay, seriously, Zachary Hoffman, I bet you’ve got AIDS.
This is one of the best reviews you’ve done, Spoony. It certainly was a bit startling, I admit, to see other actors all of a sudden when it’s typically just been you, but it was very funny. I hope to see more interaction with the Press Start folks in the future.
B.A.M. stands for Bad Motherfuckers? Seriously, how could a scriptwriter write that with a straight face? I was laughing too much after I heard that line!
Spoony, other than the scenes you mentioned, there were tons of rip-offs from Predator. The part where Reb Brown kicks the door in the rebels hideout scene is a rip-off of the scene where Arnold kicks down the door in Predator to deliver the infamous “knock knock” line and proceeds to kill a fucker with a nice little grenade launcher blast! Also, when that guy runs to attack the robot, it’s more of a double rip-off of both Jessie Ventura’s death and the death of Ventura’s friend in the film.
I totally suggest you make a “B.A.M.” shirt for the store in the near future.
Oh yes. That scene is so powerfully, overwhelmingly erotic that it actually shrivels my insides just thinking about it. I love that film so much.
Regarding the lack of irony in “Ironic”: I choose to view that as the biggest irony of all, and quite enjoy how none of the things in the song are ironic in any way. If even one or two of the lines were, in fact, ironic, then that interpretation would just fall flat: the fact that not a single one of the things could be described as ironic makes the whole song ironic in its own way, thus saving it from mediocrity and turning it into (unintended) ironic genius.
Of course, Alanis herself admits it was a malapropism, but hey, interpretations are all valid really. That said, Ed Byrne says all that needs to be said on the matter of “Ironic”:
I quite enjoyed this review, even the sketches were good. And BURTON’S BACK!
Gotta love the kick to the groin after you’ve already shot a guy… talk about adding insult to injury. You should also check out the other Mattei-directed Reb Brown action vehicle STRIKE COMMANDO. It’s got more Reb Brown screaming and wildly firing machine guns than this movie… and that’s saying something.
Splint Chest Hair, Bulk Huge, Think McRun Fast, Smash Lambchone, Bulk Hardback, Big McLarge Huge, and Roll Fizzy Beef. That’s all I can remember.
Anyway, loved the review. The movie, awesome. Great editing in this. I’m too tired to go into the details, but great Awesome Job Noah. *Clap Clap* good show.
How couldn’t you have liked this? It was funny as hell! The subtle “Airplane!” references floored me. This is what happens when Spoony gets space to work, it’s awesome. Give this guy the Superdome, who knows!
The robot is his buddy? They ripped of Predator and Robocop.
I never thought Ed Glaser would do such a nice thing and made a video for you. So sweet. THIS REVIEW IS DA SHIT IT MADE EVERYTHIGN THAT PREDATOR WAS, A JOKE!
Seriously, why do I find myself in hysterics every time that robot babbles on? GREASY! GREASY!
BTW, appreciated the Monkey Island reference.
Wow, Spoony. Wow. This may well be you’re best work to date.
Exciting things are abrew at the Spoony Experiment.
Big thumbs up to Ed Glaser and company. Excellent, high quality stuff you guys are producing. I think it added a lot to the review.
This was probably one of your best film reviews. Good job, looks like it took a ton of effort.
This is awesome – the sketches, the acting – this is one of the truly great Spoony reviews !
Very cool and the sketches were excellent. *air guitar*
I can really see you put alot of time and effort into this.
I don’t understand why people are so negative of people other then Spoony in his videos, escpecially if they’re as cool as these. Also, seeing Serdar at the beginning just made me think how awesome he & his infinite rocket launcher would be in this film….
Nun porn? Talk about a bad habit.. :D
Hah, very funny review there. And it looks like you had a lot of fun doing it, which showed. Keep on rollin’!
I don’t understand why some of you didn’t like this video, Spoony wants to experiment with new styles and I thought it was a brilliant review. Spoony, you just keep getting better and better.
That theme at 13:00 is the one from Terminator 3 :)
Brilliant! Heard about it long time ago, but never so it until now.
There is another ripoff (at least the idea, and the waterfall scene) of Predator.
It’s called DNA, it was made in 1997 as “direct to video” release, and stars B legend Mark Dacascos and Jürgen Prochnow (I cried when I saw his name on the credits for this…:)).
DNA (1997) (V)
My, my, spoony. You sure know how to treat Vegas like a good boy. Great review spoony.
And Burton’s back :D
But this time…he’s pissed D:
“You walk like a duck”
“How appropriate, you fight like a cow!”
Was that a Monkey Island reference?
That’s funny! I was thinking the robot was saying “greasy” before you even suggested that in the video… so maybe that IS What the robot was saying……. but why would a robot say “greasy”??? I don’t understand!
This website just keep getting better and better!
Good work spoony
Laughed so hard at this review. The soundtrack bit with Spoony on keyboard really killed me :)
Didn’t like the random scenes with the guys acting out a different parody movie though.
Man every video is better and funnier than the last. I laughed my ass off!
I just needed to see this when you mentioned porno holocaust from the snob
You’re in my way, sir. Finally some revenge!
ok first of all… awesome review spoony. and there’s one Reb Brown film that I love and I don’t know if you’ve heard of it, but its called Uncommon Valor, he didn’t have the lead in the movie, that went to Gene Hackman and it also stars Patrick Swayze.
here’s a clip from youtube see if you can find him. lol
made me laugh a lot
How could anyone make a film that rips off predator so much. they may as well of called it turkish predator. this is a killer review spoon.
It kind of sounded like the robot was saying “received” to me.
Loved the review Spoony,
don’t listen the haters…
hey spooon the review is awesome and so are the thrown in clips from your friends or whoever. the general was great actor all in all very good greet your friends who made a cameo i luv em
some of your kiddie fans dont seem to like change, but the sketches were good.
i honestly didnt know wether it was you who made the clips or some fan, until i recognized Ed.
good to see Burton back.
I’m not even halfway through this, but I have to praise your usage of Citizen Soldier. After being bombarded with that propaganda of an Army ad in theaters for a good year or so, I’m glad to know someone has felt my pain. Epic win for you.
OMG 20:33 YOUR IN MY WAY SIR!!!! LOL Love the swat 4 reference Spoony just GOLD!!!
holy shit awesome vid and even bigger HOLY SHIT THE MOVIE PREDICTED PART OF THE PLOT OF MGS, THIS IS INSANE, maby the director could sue hideo.
I am serious:
this is the hilarious review I have seen this year! I was planning to mention some of your jokes because they made me laugh, but there is just to many not to mention since they are al awesome!
oh and when the robot said Greasy it was probaly saying something like “information recieved”
He says “receive” not greasy, but still an awesome review :D
Keep em Comming.
Spoony for the win
I will debate Mattei’s involvement on Porno Holocaust. Don’t forget I’ve got the backing of many, many, devout Euro-Cult fans on my side. ;)
Two Mattei films you should go out of your way to check out: Rats: Night of Terror and Hell of the Living Dead. These are considered his absolute masterpieces.
Dark Maze always does a great job, and this time was no exception. The stuff in there looked extremely professional .
It was a good review, and I greatly enjoyed it. I am still waiting for the video games to return, but that’s primarily since I have played a lot more obscure video games than I have seen obscure movies.
After all that, you know how much they hit? That’s right, FUCKING NOTHING!!!
Perhaps they actually hit him, but the bullets slipped off him because he was to damn GREASY?
I’m sorry, I’ll hit myself. *slap*
This is only rivaled by your FF8 review, hilarious good work :D
I thought it was good but i felt it was not enough of a rant like your other videos. In the back of my head it just felt off. Your dialogue and jokes were a bit rushed as well as the joke cut scenes. I do like video reviews like this but i liked how you did Yor and Clones of Bruce Lee better. I give this * * * out of 5
This 1989 movie not only rips off “Predator” and “Robocop” but also PREDICTS that an action movie would use “dead soldiers from Vietnam” as a plot point…and a couple of years later “Universal Soldier” gets made. It’s the Nostradamus of crappy Italian Z-movies!
BTW Spoony, I liked how you cut in the slide-projector bit from “Animal House”; it (along with the Dark Maze sketches) worked.
Brilliant, but how did you get through the entire video without tossing in this?
Good work, I think you should keep them around 15 mins though.
hahaha!The Big Lebowski!wasnt expecting that!
and ill need to find copies of these pornos……they sound freaking awesome!
wow cool video
nice to see funny b action movies or maybe its c-????????
whats the name of the song at 15:02 when they shoot at the dead sniper??????????
Anyone else notice that starting around 22:22 mark that when we switch to scenes from the movie that you can faintly hear what sounds like the start of that orchestral music…. the music that also played in the Final Fantasy VIII review when spoony let loose the Devil.
What is that music at 15 min ? where they are shooting that “sniper” ?
Am I the only one who wants to see a feature-length Predaborg movie?
C’mon, that’d be awesome.
Wow , I have watched this review twice now. I don’t often do that because theses reviews are long but I liked this review so much!! I still cannot believe how well done it was.
When do we get a review of Space Mutiny? Spoony could do a series of reviews of all the Reb Brown movies.
great usage of ed glaser as the voice for the army slideshow. I recognized him from the voicing of Press Start the Movie as Count Vlad.
I see that I am in the minority because i did not like it. But i just wanted to add that i think you should keep your reviews, rifts, and rants well diversified, dont do them all quite the same way. The style you did here was good but i still want to see some of your great styles that you have developed in the past.
I’ve been watching you since your humble beginings on YouTube. While I still think you’re one of the best Internet comedians, your work is becoming too self absorbed. The inside jokes, the cross overs, the references to TGWTG, it’s all too much. You’re using cheap gimmicks that dying sitcoms use after they’ve jumped the shark, which is certainly not your case. Your material keeps getting better, but stick to your material. All of the TGWTG references just reeks of incestuous self fellatio, and you deserve better.
Spoony + Anything with Reb Brown (good or bad) = The stuff of Legend!
Watched this 3 times now cause this is an awesome review, as indeed all of your work is. Would just like to say thank you for putting out all this great material for free for us to watch. Keep up the great work…..
wait wait wait… Mattei? As in Mike Mattei? He’s ITALIAN? No wonder he’s such a motherfucker. Is Mike Mattei related to Bruno Mattei?
YOUR REVIEWS ARE EPIC!!
At Carnick: I liked that input, its more useful than what sounds like crazed fan talk in the comment section of the review. I liked most of this review (The Swat 4 reference was nice) but at other times it felt like it was trying to be the Nostaligia Critic, at other times your own dialogue sounded forced, and your minimalistic yet natural reviews like what you did with Indy 4 feel better as its you giving your own input without other peoples skits in the way and talking rather than trying to act, with this its like you’re being the Critics geek brother.
Hmmm, so higher production values, more streamlined scripting and editing along with a genuine drive to innovate + FREE = higher than usual levels of moantardation.
Keep up the good work Antwiler. You’re doing us all a favour with this brilliant stuff…
Hilarious review! Man I cant beleive how badly this movie was ripped off of predator. You do great movie reviews at the same level as the nostalgia critic. Keep it up man.
That does look like fun. *grabs gun and wildly fires into the jungle*
I do remember seeing Reb in a better film. But I’m glad he didn’t star in Uncommon Valor. He was Blaster, the demolitions expert, which probably placed him in his natural habitat as basically a surfer/BMXer that liked to blow stuff up. Not many speaking lines in that for him.
“Don’t move” is playing in my head and I have no control over it. Thanks.
I haven’t laughed this hard in a very long time. The SWAT 4 reference especially got me laughing. Awesome work!
Alot of useless stuff in this movie…. just like tits on a nun!! Awsome review Spoony!
It’s good to see that you’ve had the time to put some real production values into this one.
I don’t mind when you do the bits, where it’s just you talking into the camera, but I much prefer these larger more interesting shows, with excerpts from the material being reviewed.
I think the robot(cyborg?) is saying “recieve”. Exactly why would he mumble to himself that he recieved the coordinates to “guy in front of self” is just as logic as the rest of this.
I love the review, and I thought the Dark Maze stuff was funny as hell, but it’s rather jarring to see something with some production value next to you just filming in your room. I mean, I love you talking to the camera; that’s what you do, but it seems so weird to have you so confined and then have other people actually doing stuff. All in all, I still give it an 8/10.
Ed Glaser’s stuff was great.
Great review, very entertaining. You mentioned some “awesome” movies, I would love to see a Top 10 So Bad They’re Good list from you, since you seem to have a lot of those types of movies.
I’m glad you were finally able to make the “Damn talking box!” joke.
hey, sorry if that sounds retarded or shows an inconsiderate lack of culture but what movie are the parts with the “unofficial briefing” and the general talking like “technically, I don’t even exist” and what not? And the briefed guy is this goofy dude with the red “ribbon” on his head?
Hee hee!! You fight like a dairy farmer, Spoony!! >:D
Sheer awesome, spoony. This was your best review.
And on another note, today I learn that taking a drink during a spoony review is a bad idea. I nearly killed myself.
hahaha i love bad movies this is greataat its sooo bad hahaha
I prefer reviews with less scripting.
The robot is grey fox?
I like how “Big-ass mother fuckers” translates to “inochi-shirazu” (daredevils) in Japanese. Come to think of it, that name actually makes sense.
the sketches were *almost* as funny as the movie footage. and that is no fault of spoony and these great actors! the movie is just too hard to beat. it would’ve been a great parody of the predator if it was intended that way XD
Hehe, this is one of the best reviews I’ve seen from you, Spoony.
The scene when Reb walked off the boat, and your comment to it, cracked me up, big time xD
Man, this movie must have sucked big time..
Weee… My stomach hurts of so much laughing.. :P
He’s right. I believe Bruno directed some of the porn scenes in “Porno Holocaust.” He did uncredited assistant work on quite a few movies, most notably “Zombi 3.”
This is your best review yet, fucking genius.
1 question… Where did you get that poster on the background… It totally rocks…
I’m turkish… and that title is DEFINITLY TURKISH…
But it’s strange… your reviewing RoboWars… but that poster isn’t saying RoboWars…
Robo Savas Belasi = Robo Wars Pain in the ass.
I am not kidding… belasi means pain in the ass… like when you say basbelasi you mean pain in the ass…
Robo Wars Pain In The Ass… I need that poster man…
Exceptional work spooney. Very funny movie. Very funny skits. Very funny references. I like your new cast. You can’t surround yourself with enough funny people, dude. Gonna donate some money as my way of saying thank you and my way of saying “keep it up.”
This will go down in the Spoony annals as one of the all-time classics. Noah, you outdo yourself once again!
These guys fight like dairy farmers, and I don’t think “don’t move” even qualifies as a one-liner.
Regardless, awesome job!
This review rocked spoony
I couldn’t help but notice the film is in ENGLISH with subtitles in JAPANESE directed by an ITALIAN with a poster in TURKISH
Best review in a long time. ROFL all the way thru
The elite tactical unit’s primary strategy?
Standing in a line. Out in the open. Firing from the hip.
There is an Army hand signal involving a double fist pump. It means “Rush the objective”. Also, “Citizen Soldier” for the win! “We will always be ready, because we will always be there!” One more thing; Dark Maze Studios are some great folks!
Its just sad when the movie within the movie is better then the movie itself.
i like you videos and reviews but this one was alittle to cinema snob ish be youre self we already have a cinema snob…
I saw Spoony’s cat.
That was an epic review.
The SWAT 4 reference was great, as was integrating Animal House. In fact, it would take a whole review to cover how great this review is.
I admit I don’t want ALL your reviews coming out like this, but like the Final Fantasy Finale it is a great way of mixing things up.
Ed Glazier and Peter Davis are hillarious.
Spoony thanks for reviewing the Press start movie I loved it.
This was another great review. NC, Transmission awesome and a new vid. Someones been busy!
Wow, this movie was as blatant a ripoff as Eragon was to Star Wars.
Funny, funny stuff…I actually liked the parody interludes (and I will join in line those paying respect to Ed Glazer)…though it was when you were making the jokes yourself that the review was at its’ strongest.
All I was thinking about when you mentioned Porno Holocaust was the line Cinema Snob used on it…”the holocaust of cinema”. Is it safe to say Bruno Mattei is the Italian equivalent to Uwe Boll?
This is awesome. Probably the best review you made
Your movie seemed to ‘mimic’ the general TGWTG bland review theme (with all their flaws) reaaaally closely.
Was this some sort of meta-review, a parody of reviews produced by review of unintentional parody, or what?
The best review I have seen in a long, long time from you. Please make more things like this Spoony.
I’m still waiting for a review of “Robot Jox”. Please Spoony, please.
Ed Wood did make some pornographic movies later in life.
I really liked this one – it’s quite a change of pace, and I’m not sure if I wanted to see only reviews in this style, but as a one-off it’s great. I also like your versatility, you seem to be able to adapt to doing different styles quite quickly.
Keep up the good work!
This is an absolutely splendid work. Ed Glazer team did an awesome job in their scenes as well. Loved it! Probably my favorite of your work except for The Thing, which is beyond hilarious. You make everybody on TGWTG look weak, who don’t happen to take it seriously at all, putting out weak, half-assed material… and yet somehow manage to gain a considerable amount of recognition, which they certainly don’t deserve. Keep it up, Spoonyone!
Its sad to say, but just watching this review makes me actually want to find a copy of this movie just to have something to laugh at. Thats one thing I love about really bad action movies. The actors might be dumb and say some pretty cheesy lines, but the whole thrill and awesomeness of everything just makes it great!
why couldn’t it be bad ass motherfuckers instead of big ass motherfuckers it sounds cooler and it makes more sense
We put our faith in BLAST HARDCHEESE! =D best mystery science theatre episode ever haha, along with the one with Brak in it but i cant remember the movie name “Sppoooooocckkkk” =S
If you know which one it is Spoony please let me know, I R a girl in need of classic MST3K!
Awesome review, as usual.
I have to say, I squealed at the Monkey Island reference. You’ve got the best commentary.
So it was not only a Predator rip-off…it was also a Universal Soldier rip-off?
A great review as usual. That song during the whole, “Lets join in” sequence…I just can’t put my finger on exactly what it is. Its right on the tip of my tongue too.
“a transmitter with a range thats shorter than my dick”
oh spoony, you card. great review as always, and its great to see that they are coming as fast as they used to. every few days i’m eager to open you website to see another vid, and you don’t dissapoint.
when are you going to be doing another videogame review?
I swear Spoony, you better have a shirt that says “Greasy Greasy” with the robot from this movie made up soon, because if you don’t do it, I will.
Oh Man! This is your best review yet! I want a Bad Ass Motherfuckers shirt! I laughed from start to finish.
You have to review the Captain America movie. I cant find it on MST3K. I also want to see a review on Space Mutiny.
20:35 – OMG, you shot Roland Taverner! NOOOO!
He was the only character in “Southland Tales” I didn’t hate!
What the hell is up with all the yes men in these comments? Spoony, you could post a video of yourself taking a crap and 95 percent of these idiots would say its your best video ever.
Please go back to your old style.
nice monkey island ref
YOU’RE STANDING IN MY SPOT, SIR.
You have to attack The Sword and the Sorcerer! That movie was so delightfully awesome and yet shitty all at the same time. If you dont have it let me send you a copy. It stars Lee Horsly star of Matt Houston and OMG he is actually staring in another version of that old movie and doing the 1980s promised 2nd film called Tales of an Ancient Empire….I mean how cool is that?
…Spoony. Your shirt. Does it say Montresor Amontillado? Because… I require one of those.
One of the code names is “Papa Doc”? Seriously?
That line makes me laugh more than just about anything else.
Good…! – Papa Doc
The sketches in the review could almost make a mini-movie of their own–and one better than Robowar itself. Great addition to the review.
Amazing production values in this review. Keep it up!
Did anyone else see the pretty kitty in the back ground when the great spoony was playing the piano? and yeah you can tell that that these guys are American cause they shoot in their fashion. ‘Fire enough bullets and hope to hit the target.’ as quoted by Alan Quatermain from the movie League of extroadinary gentlemen. One would think that by the second shooting scene already they’de be out of bullets… except Chuck Norris ofcourse.
You’ve gotta love those movies that are so horrible or so much fun to riff on they’re awesome. Its the reason my friends and I saw Dragonball in the theaters.
Also, go Burton! You show that Spoony clone who’s boss!
Wow now that I think about it, this actually reminds me a little bit of Wachers 3 where they are in the jungle with Einstien and the lizard man from Castlevania! Its just the similarities of how bad both movies are! But then I thought all of the Watchers movies were horrible.
I just realized, when the cut to the scene on the boat, the name of the skiff is “African Queen 2″. If you’ve ever seen The African Queen, you will understand my horror at naming it thus. T_T
BTW Great work on this Spoony. Predator is a movie I hold in high regard. Robowar is TERRIBLE.
“Big Ass Motherfuckers” – my god, this line almost killed me…
loved tha rewiev, guys
Awesome… just Freaking AWESOME
talking about the commetary here, yes I have seen a couple movies where people spit blood on the camera mostly 70 and 80 kung fu and samurai movies, as for the cover of strike commando with the 6 minnibarrel carbine yeah that is hillarious its also rather hard to tell where he’s holding it as well, its allmost Liefeldian in its “EXTREME” presentation.
Alright, I know everyone at TGWTG are pretty much in-love with themselves, but what’s with this influx of commentary/making of/making of commentary/outtakes/outtakes commentary videos?
Seriously, you are doing a commentary on a video that by itself is a commentary of another video. WHAT IS THE POINT.
Great review other than that.
At 17:53, how in hell they appear with 7 armed men and the others dont even notice, then I love how some of them are shoting with the eyes closed xD
“You walk like a ruptured duck” may have referred to the DUKW, the amphibious troop transport vehicle used in WWII to cross the Channel.
Except the DUKW doesn’t walk, so it still doesn’t make sense.
did you know that YOR was originally a four-part tv show? check it out:
The Han Zimmer scene is fucking brilliant.
Dont the robot say proceed but very wrong?
Bless you for the Monkey Island joke.
What would you rather watch Robowar or Transformers Revenge of the fallen
I think the robot is saying “RECEIVE”
The robot says:
Reb should have decapitated the robot with a rock like he did the the robot in Yor.
What is the name of the song at 15:02 =]
2nd best review eva after the thing!!! man I laughed so hard.!!! keep up the good work spoony!!
the robot sey acusaly is recet over & over agaen think idk
STANLEY KUBRICK IS A LONG WAY MUCH MORE AWSOME than anyone that you talked, so be careful when you say THINGS. Or you’re like “that guy with glasses” and think BATMAN is a good movie too. ROLF.
Favorite part was the “you’re in my way sir”.
brilliant SWAT4 reference. “You’re in my spot (way) sir” xDDD
Hahaha… Love the Monkey Island reference!
What were the clips with things like “GLAM: Giant Leprechauns And Monkeys” from?
I wish I knew what the hell that damn song was in the film.
I cracked up laughing so hard when the dude said “You’re in my way, sir” XDDDDDDDD
I don’t know if this is helpful by the translation of the Japanese subtitle for when the robot says “greasy” means “comprehension; consent; understanding; roger (on the radio)”
kim kardashien is a member of B.A.M.
The heck is this doing back at the top? Ah well, I guess I’ll watch it again, cause it was AWESOME!
What the…….Ummmm, okay, kinda random seeing Robowar on the front page again. AND ITS NOT EVEN ON TOP! its the second post……..whats goin’ on here? >_>
I think the Creator’s commentary is new, that´s why the video is in the front again, and is a great review….
I LIVE IN SAN PEDRO, CA!!!
(It’s a long E Spoony, not an accented E. We hate that shit.)
That’s it, I’m going to have to order the VHS tapes of Yor and this, and watch them with my family to just see their facial expressions.
… How much do you think they spend on ammo?
What the FUCK! This movie not only ripped off the ENTIRE FUCKING MOVIE OF PREDATOR, it did so absolutely shamelessly! WHAT THE FUCKING FUCK WAS WRONG WITH THE DIRECTOR! They ripped off the scene where he jumped off the waterfall, complete with the exact same scream, they ripped off the scene with them storming into the village, along with the knife throwing scene complete with the stupid fucking “don’t move” bullshit, they ripped off the costumes, they ripped of the characters, they ripped off the bloody location, they ripped off saving that chick, they ripped off the fucking number of guys, they ripped off the explosions from the “robot” which that shot lasers that looked exactly the fucking same as predator, and they ripped off the indian guy stopping and going back for the “robot” when they were going to da choppa..ehem, I mean, uhh…boat. The only thing they didn’t fucking rip off was that Reb Brown didn’t go commando by himself and actually kill robot, the fucking robot just did it himself! I can’t believe how absolutely motherfucking painful it was to watch this movie rip off every last detail from predator! Fuck you, whoever directed this movie, you should be sued so much you , and your children, and your children’s children become fucking homeless!
Dude, Ormander, STFU! Both movies were made twenty years ago, there’s point in getting mad, if it’s that old no one can sue, and there is nothing you can really do about it, the movie’s already been made. Plus, it’s not a complete ripoff of Predator, Predator used alien Robowar used a Robot, and Reb Brown. But yeah, I was expecting a little more from a movie that claims to have a Robot war, and Reb Brown fighting a robot.
Lolwut, why didn’t the rescue boat come when “Virgin” clearly had a nipple sticking out @ 27:25
I can’t believe I somehow skipped over this review.
But it made my day :)
And no, you’re not in my way sir.
What’s the cat’s name that appears with Spoony’s ‘playing’ the keyboard?
spoony gotta cat
Wow, my creepy uncle brought this home to watch when I was seven. Also I think I was in Japanese class with one of the Dark Maze guys in college.
Loving the swat 4 scene. “Your in my spot Sir!” *shots him* utterly halerious
Peter Davis reminds me a TON of Dr. Cox from Scrubs.
fffff. that was probably the worst imitation of predator I've ever seen.
And oops, I thought the theme music at the “everyone shoot shit” scene was from a game I used to have, turns out it was just really similar to starship troopers! 8D
“You're in my way, sir.”“RAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!”
Wooo! Shoot him again!
i love every video :)
The waterfall Reb jumps down is the same he beats down Jakotaaaaaaaa
It sounds like the robot is saying “received”. Like it is receiving data from its scanners.
Jack Black; Scarlett's cat. Explained in the commentary.
Filmed by Dark Maze Studios, the guys who make Press Start Adventures and Robogirl.
“Don't move *wink*” Best line in any movie ever!
Is the robot's language dubbed? It might be speaking the original Italian.
how much ammo do they have oh wait its a cheat it never ends
Yeah… But it still makes very little sense.
I have to admit, screaming and fake-firing a gun simultaneously is surprisingly fun and liberating. I must do this more often.
But yeah, what a turd of a movie. It wasn't fun-bad, or even just bad. It was shit. Still, Mattei's apparent complete lack of shame at ripping of one of the better sci-fi action movies ever made is impressive, if nothing else. And as always, great review Spoony. I loved the inclusion of the commando sketches.
i needed to take a piss during this video so i went to the toilet but i saw something move outside my window so i instantly started screaming AAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!! and waving my cock around
His friends call him “Blood”, his enemies call him “E Stupid”
Great review Noah! Keep it up!
Amazing thing is that the plot of this is actually pretty darn interesting. A Robot who is a friend of the Protagonist that can't self terminate but wants to? With the right people, this could've been infinitely superior to predator. Unfortunately…..
i think they meant to mean that bamf means Bad Ass Mother Fuckers but there were probably some language errors.
For example…it should have been BAMF…..
that was just a sketch they did for the movie probably done by some of Noah's friends
I feel so bad for the person that had to translate this in to subtitle. “Ok John the next line in the movie is You walk like a ruptured duck”John “That's funny. What the real line?”or worse! Having to sit there reading that
I feel the same about bad movies being awesome. Especially bad horror movies. Hilariously fun to watch with some buddies.
I just realized that in addition to lifting the “screaming and shooting at nothing” scene from Predator… I am reasonably certain that the opening sequence is actually the village raid from Predator seen through a crappy faux-infrared filter. That alone is 1000000x amazing.
Whoo, Reb Brown is a pretty man! The 90's had rap and street culture, the 60's had hippies and rampant drug overuse, 2000's had political and economic unrest, and the 70's had Disco and feminism. The 80's will be forever known as the asshole of the fashion industry. Muscle men in tiny tank-tops, excuse me while I die from giggling.
I don't think this director had an original idea in his life. Even his Nazi Exploitation films were rip-offs of other Nazi Exploitation films.
They should send these Big Ass Motherfuckers to Iraq. Knowing these guys I think they'd have a “Black Hawk Down” incident..
oh maann, youre amazing.!
I'm having a field day with the Japanese subtitles. I notice that Spoony and I both seem to be hung up on the “Big Ass Motherfuckers” thing, but for different reasons. I made a brief attempt to translate the subtitles for that line, and the closest I got was the rather poetic “unaffected by destiny,” or perhaps “lacking command,” as in “no one can boss them around, because they're… you know.” Talk about losing things in translation.

“We are…The Cybermen”
Your Vietnam comment actually REALLY pissed me off.. because it’s the OPPOSITE reason we lost. We lost because engagements had to be approved in the US and the communication delays and shit fucked us up.
Way late to the party here, but I figured I might as well explain what a “ruptured duck” is. It’s WWII slang for the service pin given to soldiers who got an honorable discharge from the military between 1939 and 1946. Due to the fact that pretty much everyone who earned one took the next available flight back home, it came to mean someone trying to get somewhere very quickly, which is not how it’s used in either Robowar or Strike Commando. I think the last time anyone actually used the term un-ironically was some time in the late 1950s. Which just goes to show how dated Bruno Mattei’s understanding of the English language was.
If anyone could help, what’s the song that plays when Spoony gives in and joins their umpteenth shooting spree? It’s so damn obvious…I KNOW it…but can’t place it’s origin.
Song is Alanis Morissette – Ironic
The “you’re in my way, sir” just about killed me.
YAAAAAAAAAHHHHH (Shoots guns wildly) best part.
That was some really good green-screening. I would have thought Spoony’s freakish 80′s mullet whipping around behind the green screen would have been hard to separate from the background
Trying to accurately select something as wispy and unsolid as hair is a pain to do in Photoshop, so the same problem must also crop up in video effects too.
I’m the leader of C.A.T. Careful Able Terrors.
I can’t believe how much of a rip off that was. Seriously I’d love to hear Schwarzeneggers thoughts on this movie.
“nunsploitation? who even thinks of that?”
*raise my hand and look around* WHAT? Nobody else?
How about “Knife things come to those who wait”?
Glad to see Dark Maze Studios contributing.
A fantastic review, but I would’ve suggested switching the ‘catch shots’ from Robowar and Predator around, so the guy in Robowar throws his thing to Arnie in Predator, and the guy in Predator throws his machete to Reb in Robowar, just to emphasise what a rip-off that moment was. =)
The part with you playing the piano almost killed me. I laughed so hard my lungs started to hurt.
aw spoony dont sell your dick short, im sure its like a double rainbow.
This is like Fantasy Mission Force… only bad.
…Can you imagine Reb Brown and Jackie Chan fighting Nazis? I think I need a towel…
Will we ever get a Robotjox review from you Spoony?
That’d be friggin’ sweet.
You’re in my way, sir. xDDDDDD
i guess the robot keeps saying “received”
Oh, that was Ed Glaser all that time, pushing you out of doorways!
It’s really pretty sweet seeing all this early work of yours – and others, of course, as we see post-Brawl the crazy crossover work in its relative infancy.
I like it!
Cool did Ed Glaser help with this episode
Count Vile awesome lol
ooh did i see a kitty near the sofa? ;o
ooh, did i see a kitty near the sofa? ;o
You know, this movie kind of rips of two movies at once. Of course, it rips off Predator, but where have we seen a movie where a man gets critically injured and turned into a cyborg? Robocop. The Robo-war robot is like Robocop with severe mental problems.
Also, not sure if Spoony was being serious about the first scene or not, but from what I can tell, the guys in the helicopter were losing control of the robot, which later shot down the chopper.
Last thing, what the hell happened to the Doc? Did he just disappear from the movie, or did Spoony just forget about his death?
Not enough time to show the deaths of everyone..or he’d end up with a 2-3 hr. spoof….
Well, he showed everyone’s on the team, but yours. :) I saw it myself on the movie, and pretty *odd* to be honest.
i saw this one on vhs when i was 7 or 8 lol i thought it was an awesome action masterpiece. now not so much anymore
So….they’re….FAT army men? Kind of reminds me of Gears of War.
“Uh, Dom, can you give me some cover fire while I waddle into the Designated Cover Zone (patent pending) and lean here for a moment to gather myself up? *huff, huff, WEEEZE!* Hey, maybe I’ll find Cheetos back here!”
Don’t know if you guys have seen this yet…
Trailer for Flesh Wounds with Kevin Sorbo. Sounds like it wants to be a Predator rip-off, ala this movie, but the enemy more rips off this movie than Predator.
Also, someone has posted on youtube (in parts) this and Strike Commando to watch. :D
I’ve been posting lots of on-set behind the scenes pics in FB…. /johnpdulaney recently…and I’ll create a specific ALBUM for it eventually….
I wish they would’ve kept Reb Brown with the same name as he had in Strike Commando. Just like it would have been cool if Arnold’s name in Predator was John Matrix.
I just think it would have made sense…Ransom gets a new group of guys after the events of Strike Commando, who get wiped out in Robowar. :)
What’s also interesting is the girl in the movie, is well known for being John Bradford Horn’s’ daughter in the Airwolf episode “The Horn of Plenty.” Never noticed that.
Don’t move ;)
lol the wink makes it
The robot reminds me too much of the wraith movie!
Hey just asking any one midn tell me when they ues music as they all fire the gun and kill the 2nd dead guy? pelase tell me song and band name please and thank you ^_^ epic review spoonyone!
it’s called Citizen/Soldier by 3 Doors Down Spoony talks about using it on the robowars commentary.
Your in my way sir.
Anyone ever considdered that the beginning scene is not Trouble with the Helicopter but with the Roboter, which they are having a Trial Run with? Its making way more sense that way… well, as much sense as it can make.
I know it might’ve been a joke, but the thing about the helicopter and the robot sort of makes sense. Those guys seem to have been in control of the robot at first, but then lost control, then it killed them.
Very, very funny spoof! I have no clue as to why this movie has
generated 2 spoofs…but I am flattered…or am I not supposed to
be….???? Your spoof is, of course, BETTER than the real ROBOWAR…!

I don’t see it on this page so will quote:
he showed everyone’s on the team, but yours. :) I saw it myself on the movie,
and pretty *odd* to be honest.
—–well, better ask DA BIG GUY then…. JOhn
Reb Brown just trolled the audience (and Spoony) by puttin on a sky blue shirt. All it took…
I think robot may say “Reaching” :P
Hey, that actually makes sense :3
Does anybody know what “walking like a ruptured duck” mean?
Now that I’m watching this again, I’m less surprised that the robot decided to fist-fight Reb and more surprised that the robot didn’t shatter his ribs instantly like he did before.
And how exactly is he “indestructable”? He most likely can’t take tank shells, and seeing how his insides consists of weak flesh and error-prone circuits, there’s more than enough that can go wrong.
Heck, it’d probably be way more effective if they just manufacture his power armor and give it to normal soldiers.
