Should have had Little Mac running on the poster.

    Karnov! Woo!

    • http://twitter.com/GameAddict29 EricLamoureux

      That game was awesome!!

  • Anonymous

I think that Ryu sprite is from the SNES compilation, not from the original NES games.

    • http://thepunkeffect.com Pat

Nope, that’s as 8-bit as you can get!

  • Anonymous

…Why would I want to donate to a shitty movie franchise like Child’s Play?

Anyway, glad to see Pit Icarus is finally getting some shine after all these years.

  • Anonymous

Does the NES Punk have facial expressions beyond the range of “mildly excited” to “mildly shocked”?  It’s like he’s worried that if he stretches his mouth too much or raises his eyebrows too far, he’ll break them.

    • Anonymous

If you want to look for different expressions, then take a look at the Nintendo World Championship episode of the AVGN, which guest stars the NES Punk.  He gets to look pretty crazy in that one. :-D

    • http://thepunkeffect.com Pat

Little known fact: my eyebrows are made of fiberglass.

      • Anonymous

I feel for any woman who has to give birth to a baby with fiberglass eyebrows.

Couldn’t Pat just, uhh, you know, not use make up? I mean, no offense, I don’t really have anything against this guy, but to put it lightly, he kind of looks like a closet homosexual. Not that I know any closet homosexuals, they’re in the closet, after all, but I would imagine that if I did, they would look somewhat like this guy.  Just saying.

    • Anonymous

Eh, it’s his look.  It’d be like asking Todd in the Shadows to take off his hood, so you could see his face better.

Also, even if he was a closet homosexual…so?

      • Anonymous

Oh I’m totally okay with mutant freaks, just a tad less of guyliner is all I’m asking for, dude.

        • Anonymous

I will admit that it weirded me out when I first saw it, but I’m used to it now. :-P

    • http://thepunkeffect.com Pat

What? And break my multi-million dollar Revlon contract? Are you out of your mind?!

      • Anonymous

If you don’t mind me asking, Pat, how did you even come to think of using make-up? Not suggesting that it is wrong, but it’s not very conventional, is all.

        • Renaissance_nerd

Actors use makeup, the stage lights (or camera) lights kill the humans
features and makes them all bland and bleh, makeup like rouge and
lipstick brings them back to their “normal” colors while under lights. It is actually very conventional

there is a practical reason for it… or maybe Pat just likes makeup, either or.

    FUCK YEAR KARNOV.

A much  better way to exercise nintendo style than the Wii.

  • Slave Leia

The Dog is still laughing. Forever laughing at me. One duck is all it takes.

    • harry de bie

      goddamn ur hot

      • Anonymous

Because you see her in such fine detail on that small avatar, right?

Fucking kids. Any girl who reveals herself is “hot as hell” according to you. It doesn’t even matter if you can see their faces at all. It annoys me to no end.

        • http://twitter.com/Bolt_V3 Bolt Vanderhuge

You realize that the pic is of Princess Leia in the metal bikini, right?

          • Anonymous

            1) Seems to be cosplay to me. (But again, it’s small.)

            2) Regardless, harry de bie clearly think it’s the person posting, seeing as he said “ur hot” (“you’re hot”). So unless he thought that was Carrie Fisher herself, he’s drawing conclusions based on that tiny little avatar.

That’s Carrie Fisher right there, it’s amazing how fucking braindead you guys are.

          • Anonymous

I stand corrected on that point. The guy I replied to still thought it was the user, though. Which means he was indeed judging by that avatar.

But I ask you; please refrain from calling us braindead because you recognized the specific picture he’s using (or particularly if you Googled and found a matching one).

Also, to elaborate, by “unless he thought that was Carrie Fisher herself” I meant if he thought the USER was Carrie Fisher.

          • Anonymous

I’m pretty sure that anyone who isn’t a braindead, drooling mongoloid freak knows that picture. So suck it, you and your shitty retro avatar.

          • Anonymous

Oh. I see how it is now. You’re just a fucking moron and a half.

Too bad you didn’t make this 100% clear in the first post. I would’ve ignored you.

          • http://twitter.com/OzzieArcane Michael Szpakowski

Sure is nice that in the middle of a post about charity we as people have time to argue about Slave Leia.

          • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_ICDHG7TLTN6JVK6JMK3TKQFXKQ Mike Wallace

            That’s hot. *Snerk*

          • Slave Leia

Now you know why I picked this avatar.

          • Anonymous

Well fuck kids, they should all just get a job.

          • Anonymous

            Haha!

  • Anonymous

Hey, isn’t that an old “Head Start” poster?

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_AW3VX7HGVPJFFLYOQGRTPWDVFQ Joseph

On another exciting installment of “Why Isn’t This In the Main-Stream Media?”:

Internet celebs try to show their support to their fellow man by playing nothing but NES games for the chance that not only will the fans watch, but also send some money to those whom never had the opportunity to play with A stick, let alone a joystick. That’s right: it’s a charity made BY gamers, for FUTURE gamers. And it’s also not violent, disturbing, and/or corruptible enough to hit your local 6:00 news.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_D6MTSA47EIMIO2UK4O5U2OVFXQ Kevin

I’d rather donate money when Spoony does another actual video game review or Let’s Play…but if that were the case, Child’s Play would never get any money, from the way things have been going.

    • Renaissance_nerd

Spoony is being a good friend and advertising Pat’s charity event and you got to be a douche about it?  amazing

      • http://twitter.com/Tony7wsfk Tony

I view this comment as commentary of the state of Spoony’s website and activity than  being a douche about the charity event – which it (likely) is. You look like the douche here by manipulating the original comment to mean something it doesn’t. amazing

  • http://twitter.com/Bolt_V3 Bolt Vanderhuge

Now this is an event I can get behind.

We need more retrogaming charity events. TMNT marathon to raise money to help lab animals. Gilligan’s Island marathon to support sea exploration. Dr Mario marathon to fund cancer research. Wrecking Crew marathon to help fund the rebuilding of a city devastated by a natural disaster. WCW World Championship Wrestling marathon to help Ric Flair afford all the blood transfusions he needs after each match.

    The possibilities are endless!

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_B4WDVPTCJL3XXQ4TIOFSAU4LAY Swapper

any chance for FINAL-FRIGGIN-FANTASY???? nah. that game would take too long to beat. an actually marathon would end sooner than a speed run of that

Can’t watch the video.  Link appears broken.
